Quote:What's also funny is when you decide to roll up some new characters with friends, and this happens:Sometimes I feel like I subscribe to this awesome character creator program that also has a game attached to it!!
"Where are you? We're by the statues."
"I'm still in the character creator."
"We're running a sewer team; you want to come?"
"I'm still in the character creator."
"Dude we're level 12 already."
"I'm still in the character creator." -
Quote:I always thought it was, "ee-drr."No one could say it correctly more than two times in a row, even when instructed that Yydr is pronounced "yɪh-dər" which rhythms with "bidder"
Glad you didn't end up with namechange remorse. It might not seem like much but changing a handle can be a big deal sometimes; the longer you've had one the more you're attached to it. It's good you found something new that feels more "you"--and is less likely to be mispronounced!
Quote:Also, do you have difficulty getting people to pronounce your name(s) correctly?
(It's "Beast-aisle.") -
Quote:Time is easily lost in the character creator. Sometimes I'll start out with an idea and keep playing around with it, tweaking and reiterating, and before I know it several hours have gone past. Thank goodness for being able to save costume files to break up design sessions.I love the character creator in this game. I can easily spend over an hour making a costume and tweaking power colors before I even think about coming up with a name.

First Ward is one of the most aesthetically diverse zones in City of Heroes: A ruined city ripped apart by the Praetorian Hamidon, skyscrapers half-sunken and locked in the grip of petrified tentacles; pockets of still-habitable urban areas maintained by survivors; alleyways where magic flows; lush wetlands and barren crags; and an ominous hospital are just some of the areas you'll encounter. The inhabitants of the city are equally as diverse...and some of them command as much presence as First Ward itself.
In these two exclusive Developer Diaries from PC Gamer, City of Heroes Art Lead Gilbert "El Topo" Martinez gives you a look at the art and design behind First Ward, and the giant monsters that still lurk there.

Hi all, just a reminder that the CoH legacy updater has been deprecated, and will no longer allow players to connect to the game through it. Please use the NCsoft Launcher or the Steam platform to launch City of Heroes.
-
Part 2 is starting now! Come ask your questions about the Paragon Market!

This is really awesome work! I dig the idea of a 'themed' magazine showcasing different looks. Great job!

The City of Heroes launcher will no longer be supported or allow players to connect to City of Heroes on Thursday, August 4. This change is set to occur during the morning maintenance scheduled for 4:00 a.m. PDT (7:00 a.m. EDT / 1:00 p.m. BST / 2:00 p.m. CEST).
As we will be switching over to the NCsoft Launcher or the Steam platform, this will also be the last chance to get the in-game Wisp Aura! After the maintenance on Thursday, August 4, players will no longer be able to receive the Wisp Aura. So if you are using the legacy City of Heroes launcher, be sure to update to the NCsoft Launcher before Thursday, August 4 to receive your in-game Wisp Aura!

Awesome pictures, ShoNuff! Looked like a lot of fun.
And yes, that winged centaur archer-thing is from Saint Seiya. It's the Sagittarius Cloth. -
I really enjoyed the pilot. I like the redone personalities and mythology so far, and I particularly like the idea that the Thundercats are a privileged empire, while all the other animals are treated as lower-class beings; it's a good motivation for the lizards to oppose them. Looking forward to seeing more.
