I went for the force epics, initally was disappointed with my choice of repulsion field over personal force field due to huge end drain as it drains per each bad guy you're pushing away, but after getting 3 end reducers in there it's really handy as long as you watch your end in big groups.
I use it to block stairways and choke points to the other squishies behind me, usually not much gets past me, which is nice. Also it's very handy when things close in for melee as they can usually only get one hit before being sent flying backwards.
It also has saved a few team members when they've been mezzed and their toggles have dropped just by running over to them and protecting them from big hitting melee'ers. -
Power boost is pure comedy, trot down to AP and hit power boost then power thrust a few lvl 1s around, I was playing power thrust golf there the other day using miss liberty as the flag
Its very useful to help stun bad guys, not sure of the magnitude, but if you chain a few power boosted stuns together, there's not much that wont be mezzed. Anyone got figures for it? -
The problem is that it doesn't kick in during animations, I can go full auto and the damage wont increase from start to finish, if it did it might acutally be useful, it would ramp up with the amount of damage you take from a big mob.
Also it'd be far more useful if it didn't drop so fast when you got healed by a team mate, ramping it up faster and dropping it slower would be farily do-able I guess. -

Anyways. There's been some pretty good arguments from both "sides" since I last checked in, and the conclution I have come to is that the stalker AT doesn't fit this type of gameplay at all. I say again; At all.
Considering that the Hero AT's were created maybe three and a half to four years ago, and the villain AT's were created something like three years later (or so), it's not surprising that the Heroes are lagging behind in respect to fresh and innovative tricks. Just look at the inherent powers for Villains, then look at the inherent powers for Heroes. It's quite clear (to me at least), that the heroes of Paragon City has been forgotten by the gods (read; devs), and that villains is the new black.

agreed, the rage on my blaster is used continuously, far more than my squishy blasters Defiance which use becomes negligable (is it ever used?) when you're teaming with a good healer. -

Since then it's been brought to my attention that he has ripped my costume off near exactly it sucks that i've had this costume for over a year and now it's been tainted.

I'm a fan of powerboost, with it you can stun bosses...also powerboosted power thrust on lvl 1s in Atlas is just comedy!

That's cos you keep sneaking up behind us and stabbing us in the back!
Everytime I've been munched in PvP by a stalker, all my defenses have been active (obviously not phase shift) and I'm still as soft as tissue paper.
I just think that no AT should be killed in under 1 second of a fight starting, it's no challenge for the stalker and without it being a challenge it's not fun for either...unless the blaster has been mouthing off in broadcast of course
If I respecced and specifically tailored my build towards fighting stalkers it probably wouldn't be as one-sided, but I shouldn't have to do that just to PvP.
I think instead of a defense boost for blasters, devs should give us a bonus to perception, we're still soft but at least we have a chance of seeing you coming, what do you guys think? -
Because stalkers can kill my char before I can react, if there was a struggle without me having to pop every insp I own just to stay alive let alone do some meaniful damage I might agree with you.
I have snuck up on a stalker, hit them with buildup flamethrower, slug and full auto (my most powerful opener) and couldn't get them under 65% health. Considering Blasters are supposed to be the most damaging AT is that balanced? Maybe AR is just particularly weak in PvP. -
Is there anything in the AR/Eng set to help with perception? Or is it just manuveurs?

never seen a stalker in there with my blaster, all I see is "assasin strike" before I face plant.
*picks up the nerf bat and eyes up the stalkers* -
another rikti mission and yet again I get held or put to sleep in a chain lasting between 30 seconds to a minute, thankfully I had left them to last so at least there wasn't anyone else hitting me at the same time. In that situation I now set full auto to an auto power and target the mentalist, then when that fires, hit power boost and knock him down and keep knocking him down until he's dead.

Is it possible to be that fast? Not unless you're ready for it, bonesmasher certainly would be too slow, you'd be dead before the animation had finished.

Ok, I've been playing a little PvP with my scrapper and it's been fun, tricky enough and seems to be quite balanced.
That was until I popped into PvP with my lvl 40 AR/Eng blaster. After seeing a stalker chase a defender around warburg, I thought I'd help out, the stalker stopped for a mo so I get close, hit hasten and build up, then let rip with flame thrower, a couple of my quick attacks then full auto, all hit and I get him down to about 65% health before he disappears.
A while later after doing a patrol mission, I phase shift and type a quick message to my SG, at the time I had stealth, combat jumping and acrobatics running, slotted with as much defense as ED allows, phase shift drops and a moment later I see "asassin strike" flash on the screen and two shots later I'm eating floor.
Now first off, am I right in thinking blasters are as useful in PvP as a choclate teapot?
Secondly should anyone have the ability to face plant another player without giving them time to react to the situation let alone survive in a 1 on 1 situation? -
I thought Acrobatics would provide some sleep resistance? I ran into a problem the other night with it, I had it active along with combat jumping and stealth and I got chain mezzed by a rikti luit the other night, thankfully I could take the damage as it was just him, but from the time I started timing I was mezzed for 1 minute 15 seconds.
Although acrobatics says it provides resistance to holds, does it stop you being mezzed? As a lvl 40 AR/Eng, is there anything bar a 'break free' that could help? They're really becoming a nuicance!
I seem to remember that they implemented something to stop you being chain mezzed a while back, or am I going mad? -
Hmm, what would be better to fill the attack chain: Hasten which would speed up all my other attack recharges, pull buildup faster and give a slight defense versus DT for AOE damage?

Well I've just respecced my lv 29 MA/SR and picked up Focus Chi for the first time over having a forth attack power (CAK), my attack chain now has a big break in it, but I can clear a mob hell of a lot faster. Highly recommended.

According to hero planner, it's +75.63%ACC, +100%DMG unslotted with a single to hit SO in there they would increase by 21%
Recharge: 90seconds, Duration: 10s, End: 5.2, Activate: 1.2 -
It's fun as a high level running around AP with power boost and punching bad guys for 1/4 of a mile, trying to figure out how to do a game of CoH golf with it
