I've only attempted Dr. Q once. It was back around issue 3-ish, back when there were almost no zone shortcuts and you had to get most of the way through a TF before you got the contact's phone number. People kept quitting, and after most of the day (I think it was around 10 or 12 hours) we showed halfway through when a 5th person dropped, preventing us from finishing it because of the 4-person multiclicks. -
Yeah, it doesn't seem as often, but it's still happening.

Also, regular old player emotes should also be working with combat modes very shortly, including shields.

This makes me extremely happy, especially since the impression I got from previous comments about this had been that it was more of a "not soon, if ever" kind of thing.
So then, full power customization by i16, right? -

I'm out-of-frame for the photo. *sniff*

Yeah, with as much time as it took and as much trouble as they went to, I really hope they got a picture that includes everyone... at high res... and will be selling it as a poster... hint, hint... -
Ah, memories of playing a local MUD back in the 80s on a 1200 baud modem (of course, I was in elementary school then, and I named my character "Cut" because he used a dagger... sadly, my character names haven't got much better since).

To encourage people playing and rating arcs with few or no ratings, there should be badges for doing so; things like "Be one of the first x# people to play and rate and arc, #y times". -

I'm not sure there's much of anything to discuss unless you guys are going to divulge some non-beta-locked information. Unless maybe this is a "complaints about not getting a beta invite" mouse trap thread.

Or it could just be to try to keep a large chunk of the wild speculation in one place.
Not that it will work. -
Hmm, I'll have to give this a try on my video editing system (Mac Pro with several gigs of RAM and a 24" widescreen monitor)
-
This last weekend I was at San-Japan, and I was able to get Amelie (who also drew my forum avatar) to draw Rose Crush, my level 50 brute.
Here she is, standing atop her path to 50. -
She offered to color it if I scanned it in, which I just did (I emailed her a link to the 600 DPI version about the same time I posted the previous message).
I had also hoped to get a drawing done by Amelie (who drew my forum avatar) while I was there, but between the events I videotaped, the panels she was on, and her insanely full request sheet, it didn't work out.
Next con, I plan to spend less money in the dealer room and more getting art commissions of my characters... -
I've been meaning to get some art done of some of my characters for a while (done by someone else - I can't even draw stick figures). While I was at Ikkicon taking pictures of cosplayers instead of enjoying the 2x XP weekend, I got some nice art of a couple of them, so:
Snow Child, my ice/ice blaster, and Rose Crush, my stone/willpower brute, both drawn by Squeegoi. They both would have been in color, but the con shut down the artist's alley section before she got a chance to color the second, so it's just line art at the moment. -
My plans for that weekend:
Early morning Friday: Drive to hotel
Friday through Sunday evening: Ikkicon
Sunday evening until I pass out: CoH
*sigh* Such great timing on that... Oh well, it was bound to be the worst possible time for someone. -

I've seen this movie. The ending sucks.

Ever the optimist, eh Venture?
Anyway, I can't believe I haven't seen anyone ask this most important question yet: Even though Statesman is no longer involved in CoH, will he still be able to post here? And if so, will his name still be red? Sleep-deprived minds want to know! -
Nice guide!
My personal favorite is to slot a damage proc in Tar Patch. Damage in a power that doesn't normally do any, and since it debuffs resistance the proc hits harder, plus it's AoE, and it lasts like 45 seconds. ^_^ -
Great job as always on the City Scoop! I still think it's incredibly awesome that this exists, and it really shows how great the community here is - both the players for making it, and the people at NCsoft and Cryptic for giving it an official place.
Anyway, for anyone that wanted to see the Q&A with Richard Garriott, here's the video I took:

Okay, the video of the TR interview is up:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q-wyrlaxf6M
The video quality is kinda bad between it being dark an how much I had to compress it, but the audio came out plenty clear. -
Well, my camera was acting funny, but here's what I got:
<ul type="square">[*]The crowd got big fast. [*]General British [*]...with The Defuser [*]...again [*]Ghost Widow [*]...and again [*]...versus The Defuser [*]The lines for autographs
There was a raffle where lots of cool stuff got given away, including[*]wireless mice and keyboards [*]iPod Nanos [*]bags full of Tabula Rasa stuff [*]They even had Auto Assault game time cards! [/list]I must have hit the mode dial or something, which is why some look so different than others. I may do some better correction later to make them look nicer.
I also got a video of the Q&A with General British, and I'll be posting that up somewhere once I get the chance. I might have to do some trimming to fit it on YouTube, as it's just a smidge over their ten minute limit.
Anyway, it was a lot of fun, and hopefully there will be more of these. It was nice to be able to see and talk to everyone in person. -
Quick post from my phone, event's over, lots of fun. Pictures coming once I get home.

We can hit Central Market tomorrow for brunch if folks would like. They have a bunch of everything so people could get what they wanted for food.

(passes the star to Moggie)
The one just up 183 a bit from D&B, around the corner from the Best Buy, right? That could work, if we can get a time decided on. If anyone will need a ride, PM me, my car has enough room for a few more. -
*sigh* Too bad I have to leave for work in ten minutes. If anyone's still up for doing something before or after the meetup tomorrow, though, I'm still up for it (off work until Wednesday night so losing sleep then won't be a problem for me).

Well, we're all chatting about doing 6th Street Friday night...but we're not limited to just one pre-meet 'n greet get-together. If you'd like to do anything Saturday before the event or Sunday Balorn, I'm sure at least a couple of us will be available. Got any ideas/preferred times? Heck, if all else fails, we all gotta eat! (one of my favorite things is chillin' with friends over food and chattin')

Ack, don't give me the star, I'm no good at organizing a team!
...I dunno, maybe something early afternoon at a local restaurant. As I mentioned earlier I'm partial to Trudy's, and there's one pretty close to D&B, but I'm not overly picky, and it's not as if there's a shortage of good local restaurants in Austin.
