Quote:It usually is, and I understand why. However, I go for what powers I want, not necessarily what's MAXDPS or the like. My first 50 was an Elec/Dev Blaster, for example.Interesting... I thought Handclap was universally reviled/skipped.
However, as my Brute has a weak taunt aura (see Willpower,) I like having something that's guaranteed to shift the focus off of teammates. I took it and began employing it long before Foot Stomp became available. I may or may not drop it when I finally finalize my Incarnate Build for him, but for now it has its uses when exemped and sometimes just for fun on low-level zones. -
Another one that I end up using while teaming (usually only small ones, since larger groups flatten everything without worry) is Handclap. Its single slot holds a lvl 50 Taunt so my Super Strength/Willpower Brute can clear a group off of endangered squishies and redirect their attention towards me.

Quote:Well, let's go to the replay tape and check that.......yeah, I sort of did come to the thread to counter a statement that concluded KB's absolute contributions.

Well, I suspect at this point I may just have to learn to live with such an alleged stain upon my conscience. -
My vote's for trip mines. There's something immensely satisfying about a group of enemies charging into a minefield and watching their remains land all over the map for me.

Quote:Ill/Rad has been well and thoroughly covered, of course.Dark.. excellent secondary and easily goes with your theme IMO...
But I have to vote for Ill/Dark as a blast and fitting thematically. You could even tint the powers a sickly greenish yellow or the like.
Stunning, slowing, inflicting wounds that do not heal at a normal rate, weakening enemies and exposing weaknesses in their armor, all of these sound like the sort of thing your concept would do to enemies. If something was doing those sorts of effects on me, I'd be horrified and trying to get away and never come back. And Dark Servant may just be yet another manifestation of your foes nightmares come to life to torment them!
I have an Ill/Dark Controller whom just left Praetoria and it was my smoothest sailing through there yet. And I cannot imagine that the assorted hefty debuffs wouldn't be welcome in iTrials later, which you also listed as a matter of interest -

Crusader healthcare? I think I'd be better off with Doc Buzzsaw...

Quote:With +KB in Bonfire? Because what I was asking is whether slotting +KB in a procced Bonfire would allow it to juggle enemies with some KB protection or not. Basically asking for confirmation if it checked against magnitude to see if someone was affected then modified the amount into KD range just before application.I've been testing it for two days now with just the proc and honestly I've yet to seen one go flying off. it's always a steady knock down.
I think that's what it does, but I'm not certain, and thus the question I asked. My apologies that it apparently was unclear. -

Would that make it affect more KB-resistant foes, with the proc ensuring that they never go flying, correct?

Quote:I just made my first MA mission this morning, so I'm no expert, but my recollection is that those two badges you get by doing them while testing one of your own missions.I have a question regarding the badges. I am trying to finish up the rest of my badges for AE but having a difficult time trying to find missions that will let me destroy an object for the Virtual Destruction and find one that needs me to extract someone for the Virtual Extractor badges. Can anyone guide me to some missions for these badges.

Stalker/Scrapper/Brute are always usable. Masterminds and some Controllers/Dominators/Corruptors/Defenders do well (avoid late bloomers, in general.) Stalkers need to cope with homing ambushes, and Blasters will be facing enemies with ranged and mezzing powers from the word go, so they have it a little rougher. That said, you can get anything through if you are careful. (I ran all four sides on an AR/Time, for instance.)

I don't think they are weighted like that, but I do seem to have gotten them more often on perfect runs.

But..then how..ARGH!
Each of the contacts in Praetoria is short, but so much personality built into them. I'm sure there must be contacts with personality Blueside, but I don't remember them.[/QUOTE]
Faultline? (Jim, Penny, Delilah)
But yes, Goldside has some well-written characters. Shame they aren't seen by too many people.
(And the Loyalist Power storyline has some of the funniest writing in the game.) -
I have to concur that smaller team content is a nice change of pace. Then again, I don't particularly enjoy the big leagues for iStuff, Hami, or Ship Raids and usually run solo or duo. Quite simply, the more people, the less any sort of tactical effort matters, barring iTrial gimmicks that force them via unresistable deathrays if you don't follow the script. Not a huge fan of those either. Especially when you can have so many things flying across your screen in a league that it can be hard to spot death patches around the barriers and judgements.

Quote:It's the Proc from Overwhelming Force, a new set that can go in any damage power, basically. It has a 20% down and also converts any power's extant chance for knockdown and also converts any extant KB in a power to KD.Anyway, what is this proc from? I keep seeing something about X number of runs and drops etc?
You can choose it off the rewards table at the end of the Summer Event. 20 hour cooldown per character and you randomly get one of the six pieces. -
It might be for Freemiums who can't use IOs, but otherwise, I'd imagine 2x3 (+24% Regen, +6% Damage) or 3x2 slotting (+36% Regen) would be much more productive.

For a very specific value of "real."

If you want a background for your first character that will be very unlikely to conflict with canon, you could always play a refugee from the wilderness whose caravan finally made it to the safety and security of Cole's utopia... -
Thanks for the clarification. I've only been playing for a year, so I don't have all the abbreviations memorized. Sorry.
