  1. I would have to agree with going with 4 Jounin. The DPS would be pretty crazy and their defense is pretty good as well.
  2. Bots being the toughest seems about right but I would still be nice to look at the original post comparing the tiers.

The secondaries don't really matter to me, dark or traps anything will be pretty hardy, I just wanted to know how they matched up to each other.
  3. I know this has been discussed much but I'm looking for a thread that actually compared pets vs pets in pvp battles, comparing tiers across the primaries. Does anyone have a link or remember the overall conclusions of this test?

I think its great to remember moments of the past but your statement does sum up the current state of the game. Things are more playable, and I by no means meant to suggest we revert the entire game back to previous issues, only have specific Flashbacktype customization for a few missions to play some powers they way they used to be.
  5. I'm with you Fergie! Maybe even with a slightly reduced regeneration factor.
  6. Has this power been changed back to the way it used to be? I remember dev saying it should not work like fire armor's burn patch and would put it on his list of things to do.
  7. No doubt the game is good now or else I would not still be playing it. Just thought I would get some people's memory jogged, for better or worse. Especially when against DE content, the need for a balanced defenses on an AT or a good team is highlighted.
  8. Good points, and I understand the issues and neccessity to have game balance. That being said, I referenced the Flashback system and should have fleshed out my idea a little more. When doing flashback you can choose what options you want to run a mission under. Clearly not all issue roll-backs would be great, but maybe an option to select *IH: Toggle instead of Click Power and so on for certain power sets would allow everyone to have what they want.

Yes it is not financially viable to incorporate these ideas ... it is also is not financially viable to sustain my crazy addiction to this game that has me seen my pay around $800 dollars Canadian for around 3 years of gameplay ( I've been on and off since beta). I'm am not asking for a brand new City of Heroes: Prelude to be developed and rolled out. Just wanted to start a thread to give *some* people a feel good feeling when they finally obtained that Holy Grail point in their toons life.

Long live the memory of the past!!!!

Lol you must be lvl 50, soft-capped, full IO sets bonuses in all powers AND all accolades. That is craziness.
  10. wow.... way to cut my nostalgis in two
  11. Why couldn't it happen? We have trial servers to set up the game with certain conditions, flashback missions can be tailored to include or exclude certain powers and conditions? I think it is possible to have a throwback to previous issues or power statuses.
  12. Is anybody still around who played CoH back when Regen Instant Healing was a toggle and there was no cap on powers like Invincibility? We have flashback missions, wouldn't it be nice to be able to access a special mission, event, or Arena type zone where certain powers were returned to the way they used to be? Maybe this could be for lvl 50 toons where XP is required anymore? Maybe make it like an ITF except with way more enemies and waves and such. Anytime I see a broadsword/regen scrapper (the rare times I do) I always get nolstagic about my first love who I leveled with no parry and when Integration didn't regen health. What do you think?
  13. Thanks for the responses. The bind suggestions is something I haven't heard of before and I will definitely put it to use. It still makes me sad that DE can be boosted to 150% accuracy, but as many of you have said, its a a part of the game.
  14. I have held my tongue long enough. I have died more than enough times on my lvl 40 fire/shield scrapper with 41% Melee def and 36% ranged def in a Devoured Earth mish only because a measly quartz pet somehow phenomenally boosts all mobs accuracy to the point I am hit EVERY single time no matter how many pills I pop. Its crazy, please oh please do something about this devs!
  15. I got one that is lvl 31... if you can wait a few days I will let you know.
  16. Right off the bat I have to say that I haven't felt this way playing CoX since my early days back in '04 right after beta finished and the game was released. Those days contained an enduring partnership with a Emp Defender who was always wiling to duo with my crazy AR/Elec Blaster, the hallowed days of Regen toggle Instant Healing and the happy nights I trioed with a different emp Def and Dark/Dark Scrapper. Days that made me so happy to be playing CoH and have slowly drifted away over the years, only to be rediscovered with the launch of I17. New breath has been breathed into CoX and I am happy to have stuck with this game over the 6 years it has been live.

With that said, I must strongly congratulate the Devs on releasing fine content. The Black Market bug is a major downer, but the new story arcs and Quality of Life enhancements are welcome and refreshing. Of particular signifiance to me is the addition of Demon Summoning to the MM set and the focus of which I am writing this post. Since launch (and while I am auto-following my teammates to write this) I am 1 bubble away form 27. I gained 18 levels the first day in a few hour of playing, love something no sewer run could ever hope to accomplish. This was done not through powerleveling, but because seasoned (some) players came out to support the release of new content for a game they love.

Carnifax_NA prophesied that there would be a proliferation of DS MM's rushing to try out attacks and forgetting about what I consider their most important function... as support AT's. True to his word this happened. Lvl 10 Dark Miasma toons with 1 power can be forgiven to a degree, but late teens and early 20's... how can this be? I love him, but I was teaming with a DS/Pain MM who at 22 had only the first required pain heal. Yes, experiences like this have made me cringe, but by and large a powerset has been added that has made teaming not just cool, but a joy again. Ridiculous feats of survival have been accomplished not by 8-men MM teams, but a fortunate assembly of 4-5 MM's and a collection of corr, dom's and brutes, which have spawned some spontaneous friendships that may truly last a long time.

This game is fun again, it feels fun again, and most importantly, I now love to play Coh again. Thank you CoX staff and thank you CoH supporters who keep this game alive and around for us to enjoy.
  17. I have a lvl 22 Demons/ Traps and so far it's been a good run... got 18 levels in a few hours on launch. 7 or 8 man mm teams go alooong way with the amount of dark, pain, thermals i had on the team. On a team I think Traps is really strong, particulaly because of Force Field Generator. Solo, I think I will not be breezing through my +1/+2 missions until Demon Prince and particularly Seeker drones with the -tohit and -dmg.
  18. I've enjoyed leveling my thugs/dark up to lvl 35 last night and the additional powers and flair of the set have given me an enjoyable MM experience I haven't had since my bots/poison.

Other than the ever-dying arson, I can't seem to tell how much Fury my bruiser is gaining to notice a big difference in his attacks. I have tried monitoring Fury through his combat attributes but the bar never seems to go very high.

Can anyone offer any comments on this?
  19. Mad-Engineer lvl 50 Bot/poison or
Make You Smile Lvl 34 Thugs/Dark
  20. I've mulled this over many times, but the thought of playing another dark miasma toon makes my lean more towards /Traps... I may just level both, but /traps will be the novel 2ndary.. thought my character bio would have to be very interesting.
  21. Hmm, I have energize on a broadsword scrapper but its not slotted yet. Would it be possible to farm with a SS/ElecA brute?
  22. Wondering what secondary I should take for Demons as I've played many a dark toon. Traps seems promising and I'm wondering if a single acid mortar will stack -res on an enemy?
  23. Thanks for the comments. I'm not worried about complexity, I've been playing CoX since the original beta and have a pretty good grasp of the game mechanics, not to mention I've played multiple scrappers and tankers and a few early 20ish brutes here and there. Just wanted people's opinion.

For electric armor, how does the lack of +def affect its ability to take on large group spawns?
