  1. What was your difficulty set to? You got me thinking about soloing the ITF on my Fire/Shield...

  3. Thanks! That's very helpful as I have always been unsure if positional defense works based on range attack was made or just the type of attack.

It won't be that bad to lose the Touch of Death sets or Mako's Bite as the KCbt sets have +HP as well.
  4. Hey, can anyone look over my build and let me know if I can improve? I am aware I could *potentialy* run tip missions for merits to get kinetic combat... I have no idea how long that will take though.

Should I stick with positional +DEF and the set bonuses I gain or suck it up and go for Kinetic Combat?

  5. Hey, I've settling on rolling a War mace/electric armor brute but there are no guides available for Brutes. Does anyone have any experience with this build? If not, how about War Mace?

Does anyone have any builds they could post?
  6. AzureHaze

    Scourge what?

I'll have to rustle something up for you but as the power description says Scourge is a 2.5% chance for double damage for every point of a mob's health under 50%.

    So...
for a mob at 49% health a corruptor has a 2.5% for Scourge (double damage)

for a mob at 25% health a corruptor has a 52.5% chance to scourge

for a mob at 10% health a corruptor has (calculation wise) a 100% chance to scourge.

Now at that point the mob will be so low in health it won't really matter, but Scourge can really add some nice damage for the AT.

Scourge really comes in handy when facing bosses or AVs with high hits point, meaning that you can land more than a few Scourge attacks on an enemy which will surely end the fight sooner. Does this help?
  7. AzureHaze

    Demons/Traps?

Hopefully you haven't taken the power yet... I'm 1 lvl away from 38 else I would have told you!

What you can do is just pick your second build and choose the power. That way your main build isn't affected nor do you have to waste a respec if you don't like it
  8. Hmm... VMware requires a seperate boot disk which I don't have the harddrive space for. Maybe Crossover games will be better.
  9. Thanks PumBumbler, I'm going to check this out right now!

  11. Since most of the pets are ranged they can still attack out of flaming oil slick range which is a great bonus, but I've been abit worried about healing. Even with my pets soft-capped defense my thugs/dark is often in need of the group heals from dark servant and myself from time to time... but maybe that is because I run +1/x8 missions.

What difficulty do you run yours on Lucius?
  12. Thanks Cuppa. Is the trial version of VMWare limited? Would you recommend buying it? Lastly, would I need to reinstall Windows (I have version 7) or could it run the OS from bootcamp without requiring an additional OS install?
  13. Any players out there who could offer a good (ie free) suggestion to be able to run Mids on a mac (snow leopard)?

So is it safe from this discussion to believe that running SS on my corr will have aggro be taken away from me easier then if I had nothing or if I even out of melee range (ie hover)?
  15. Hey Silas, not sure if you have leveled up a Fire/Trick Arrow Corr, but it would be helpful if you have a build that you could post that takes into account inherent fitness
  16. Yeah, there is a guide for Bots/TA and I have a lvl 50 bots mm already. Just wanted to know if Thugs/TA is worth the time to lvl
  17. So... I've sorta fallen in love with the thought of doing uber damage with Trick Arrow's Oil Slick on top of hard-hitting AOEs. I was thinking about rolling a Fire/Trick Arrow Corruptor, but when I have the full range of powers I would be shooting arrows for about 5-7 seconds before I could actually start to attack.

Then I began thinking about Thugs/Trick Arrow since the Arsonist has similar fire AOE attacks and the thought of doing Rain of Fire comparable damage on top of a lit Oil Slick has me more than just a little curious.

Also, I would generally only have to worry about 1 pet running out of the lit oil slick as opposed to 5 with my Necro/TA mm.

I tend to pick rare power combinations and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this combo?
  18. Well, I saw the post that acknowledges the base graphics issue and will try turning geometry buffers off. If anyone has any other useful information I would be happy to hear it.
  19. This is my first time using this thread and was wondering if there are any other users who experience near pain-wrenching slowness when moving through their bases? I have no idea what could be causing this and wonder if its my inability to update my graphics card on my Macbook Pro.

I have Windows 7 through bootcamp and no problems whatsoever.

    My PC stats are:
    Macbook Pro (late 2008 model)
    Intel Duo 2 core 2.4
    4 GBs of ram
    250 gb
    Nvidia 9600 GT 256 DDR3

    Any suggestions?
  20. You give me hope Lord Regulus! I just got Disruption Arrow last night and I'm beginning to see evidence of the carnage my Thugs/Dark is able to accomplish with Tar Patch and Achilles Heel -res debuffs.

2.5 lvls and I can see the revered Grave Knight Headsplitter with 15% chance to critical in action.
  21. Well.... I like MM's alot and I also like to try combinations that are unusual... like my lvl 37 Demons/Traps MM. There aren't many possible MM combinations to begin and I don't really play the game to be like 90% of the MM players.

As for survivable ability.... I would say post-32 things will be good. I would even say @ lvl 26 things will get nice with the stacking -tohit from Lich that can get me near defence soft-cap if you include -tohit as roughly equivalent to +def. Once my pets gets siphon life it will take pressure of me as well. Not to mention that even with a secondary like Dark Miasma, my Thugs survivability increased noticeably with the addition of the pet aura buffs which I also intend to do for my toon.

I think that my Necro/TA is shaping up to be a solid build.
  22. I have been playing COH for many years and by far mastermind's are my favorite AT. My favorite toon to play is a Thugs/Dark MM with both recharge-intensive and pet damage buffs. The level of damage, safety, and debuffing gives such a satisfying level of carnage that my first lvl 50, a Bots/Poison mastermind can no longer provide. However, I have met someone new...

Enter Trick Arrow. Who in the world wants to shoot pointy sticks at mobs when you could enjoy so many satisfsying (and visible) secondaries? Friends, I do... I am now a believer.

Though not as deliciously powerful as the Defender version, Trick Arrow has made playing Necromancy a joy despite the countless deaths to my current lvl 20 and the many more that are to come until lvl 32. To an old player Trick Arrow has been a breath of fresh air.

Are there any other success stories with Trick Arrow?
  23. AzureHaze

    Dark/Psi?

I would say go for for the attacks OneWhoBinds mentioned except for subdue. If your fortunate enough you can supplement with a veteran attack. My Dark/Psy is lvl 50 and all the necessary attacks are fully slotted.

You may also want to look into a forcefeedback +recharge proc for Psionic Tornado.
  24. It takes a lot of money to make a shield/fire just a "notch or two" lower from invuln. Found myself wanting higher resistances so I rolled a DM/Invuln Brute.

That being said shield soft-capped will make you pretty darn tough unless you want to solo higher level +8 maps. Be careful soloing at high levels, bosses will take forever to kill if you don't have good single target damage
