Fire/, Ice/, or Electric/ with /Traps?
If you're gonna go corruptor, fire is where its at. I went with a defender, gasp, and took ice and was happy also. But its tough to take anything other than fire on a corruptor, at least for me. :P

-end and -recovery from electric don't really do much for you unless you have a secondary that does them as well. I have an electric\traps in the mid 30's and I'm kind of on the fence about him. He does 'ok' and from a theme perspective..works (form), but his damage output is just abysmal (function) compared to other primary sets I could have paired with traps. So if your the type that likes to go form over function, electric works, but at this point I can't personally recommend it. The debuffs from traps help electric, but not enough to make it on par with ice or fire.

If you want to take out AVs with a /Traps corruptor, then yeah, Fire will probably be your best bet.

I wish I had more experience with traps, but if you want damage, Fire is where it is at, as others have said. Personally, for debuffing, buffing, and damage purposes, my choice in secondaries is Kinetics, it has always worked wonders for me in teams with AVs.
Ran some missions the other day with myself and another Kinetics Corruptor with a good little group, and we had the AVs debuffed to Hades and back, taking them down in no time and had them hitting like kittens. It was awesome=)
Traps is a set that I know performs very well, I just don't know how it compares to Kinetics. I would think Fire/Traps would be a good combo for teams and solo though.
Sonic/traps does not suck either
I have a fire/traps at 30 right now. Its one of the few secondaries which has mez protection and a +def buff that makes it feasible to get the softcap without spending billions. Traps is a somewhat busy secondary in that you are busy throwing out caltrops and such, but its quite manageable. The regen of Poison Gas Trap is considered some of the best in the game for the occasional AV battle.
Ive been running missions at -1 / X8 for a few levels now and its been great, although of course this takes lot of inspirations. I picked fire because I knew that the damage mitigation aspects of traps would permit me to focus on damage with my primary. Fire has good ST and excellent AoE damage. The trickiest part is endurance management, since I always have a useful attack and something I want to kill. An advantage to traps that isnt discussed a whole lot it that many of the powers dont require extensive slotting to be valuable, permitting you to get your damage slotted up early on.
Fire/Traps is a lot of fun. You get mez protection, massive debuff of regen, good debuff of resist, area denial, and the chance to really have some fun with proc's.
Taking hover is a big help as when hovering the rooted portion of the trap animations is reduced greatly. You have to be very close to the ground but it does work

Ice or Fire would both be awesome...avoid Elec BELIEVE ME. Ice would be fun as well but more single Target. Ice Storm + Frost Breath would be fun. Blizzard is just...amazing *wets pants*. Overall though I think Fire is a better option. With Ice one would be more dependent on the Nuke, but with Fire you can melt faces very well w/o hitting inferno every time it's up.

As others have said, Elec is okay but the -end/-recov works best if you have stuff from your secondary to pair it with. Elec really works best with /Kin and /Therm.
If you want a more team supporty set, Sonic would also be a good primary. Great resistance debuffing for teams and an incredibly safe soloer, only downside is absolutely pisspoor AoE.
But.....since Traps is pretty safe by itself and all the AoE debuffs beg for AoE damage, firefirefirefirefire :3

Hey all,
I want to make a new character, after a particularly tough AV fight the other day, that focuses on Debuffing. As such, I wanted to try my hand at Traps, and have concluded that I want it to be a Corruptor, since I want to blast with it as well, and be able to do some decent damage + scourge.
In that vein, looking through the sets, I think I want to pair it with an elemental set, such as Fire, Ice, or Electric. I figure that Fire/ goes well with it, pairing the AoE debuffs with large amounts of AoE damage, and Ice would be somewhere within the same range, but I was wondering how Elec/ would go with it. Looking over the Traps set, -end and -recovery seem to be the only things it's really lacking, and Elec/ would provide that. However, it doesn't get a strong third blast, so that might be a bit problematic.
Just wanted to see what people's opinions are on these three sets, and how they pair with Traps.
