But then you've done 3-4 BAFs, which is its own downside.
If you're starting from no vanguard merits and aren't going for an alpha that uses that component doing the 3-4 BAFs will be faster. Threads drop faster than shards. Full stop.

I see what you did there.

Though I think BI's main point is that THAT specific trial is an overall cluster**** that needed more balancing and tweaking before being released.

    Just saying.

I22 should be 4 months after I21, and that would be January. Even considering the delay from 21.5, we should be looking at the next issue in February at the latest.

If I'd change my predictions any, I would maybe swap Darkness Control with Staff Melee to put I22 in its properly scheduled place.
Have we ever seen an issue released in Jan or Feb? I assume no as that's too close to the devs just getting back from the holidays.

I do however think we'll see a powerset released before then.

    that is all.

love this game as I said in another thread but the "little things" since COH Freedom need to be addressed already.

As an aside, did they ever fix the copy tool?
  7. Because its not bugged to hell like some of the recent game releases on pc lately, like that superhero one, that fantasy sequel one, and yes even that open world crime one.

All with game killing bugs at launch on the pc with patches taking WEEKS to release.

There's a reason folks prefer to play mmos (especially this game) to the increasingly buggy single player garbage being released by these silly triple A game studios that really aren't and can't Q&A there way out of a paperbag.

    Thankfully COH actually RUNS.

Have to however agree with this and the earlier point you quoted before.

As a side issue: don't get me started on what I think of NCSoft's other games.

It would get me mod smacked.

Seriously, get some perspective. I work in IT in a shared services environment. My team's applications have release and maintenance schedules that get bumped so other applications can load changes. Even if you're fixing a real production issue with your product, if there's a work-around (and there is for most of the CoH forum issues except the spontaneous logouts) that actually makes it easier for people to bump your maintenance.

There are lots of things outrageously wrong with what's going on with the forums here, but stop translating that righteous indignation into ridiculous indignation over things that actually make sense, but happen to extend or exacerbate the problem. The real complaint here is that someone really should not have jacked up the live forums in the first place, with a possible side complaint that overall maintenance procedures for them need to be scrubbed with a wire brush. But let's not flip out that a production load for another game in a shared services environment bumped our forum getting fixed.
This, so very much this. Especially the bolded part.

At the speed they're churning out costume pieces now I'm guessing character artist time is very valuable. So they need to budget that time as cost effective as possible. Time spent on extras like this needs to be justified from a commercial point of view.

If the pack hadn't been free, I'd just gotten the Atomic Smasher for a concept I have in mind, maybe, and ignored the others.
Even more fair enough and a great point that everyone (including me) keeps forgetting: artist time is VERY limited!

The rest of the Dual Blade models to date were either added in boosters or in later issues.

And of course, Issue 11 was the big Weapon Customization launch, so they wanted a ton of options to show it off.

I think, given that, 10 large models to start with compared to 15 smaller models is reasonable.

None of that comments on the reasonability of paying more for 4 of the 10 pieces, but I'm not sure I can speculate on that accurately.
    Fair enough.

I'm okay with these types of packs, even if it wouldn't be for free at the start. As long as there's a decent variety of weapon models coming with the set itself, as is the case here.
ehhhh, I think the bolded was part of the main issue on the beta boards. In fact many folks were asking if more variety would be released with beta.

The other issue I just mentioned is some of the older sets having more options than the newer sets. Also folks made tons of suggestions of things that could be taken from in-game (and some that don't exist in-game yet) that could be added to give TW more options. And it's not like TW was in beta for just a week or two, but it's been up and out there for a while now.

Yet the first time they see more options is in a PAID for pack that's announced on beta BEFORE the actual powerset comes out.

I don't think selling this is that bad an idea (I'm down for whatever they want to try to sell even if I would never buy it personally) but I can see why "a few" folks might be upset.

    Just saying.

Yes, I think the TW set should of come with a few more skin models, but the pack is still free for 2 weeks, and everyone should beable to obtain them for free, and this really only effects new accounts who start after the two week mark
I think the other issue is that this weapons set has LESS options than the older set like Dual Blades.

Yeah THAT would cause some . . . rage.

This time however, they are a free bundle for two weeks, so anyone who wants the skin desperately (honestly none of them impress me enough to want any of them free or otherwise) can get it while it's hot.

  18. Uhhh, I got an email an email YESTERDAY from "The City of Heroes Team" with Paragon Press Issue 1, stating that the "TPN Campus and Minds of Mayhem Incarnate Trials Now in Beta!"

I'm looking at the message with graphics in my blackberry as I type this.

errrrr, interesting that they are live the next day.

    Email oops?

I don't think IOs (and by extension ATIOs) are are a part of the core game, especially since there are now accounts that can play the game without any IOs just fine, and for free.

But I see where you're going with he argument and have to agree in terms of random converters that really don't have anything to do with the core part of the game.

TINY in the grand scheme of things. Especially when those lowbies actually paying are probably people who simply transfer inf from their level 50s. 50s who don't need to buy from RMT to make epic tons of inf.

Also the ones doing the charging don't really need to charge, the farm by itself gives them epic tons of inf.

    ahhh I see your point.

You're assuming that the converters will be a big money maker for a throwaway consumable. By the very nature of how they work I don't think they will be.

I'll revisit this question/suggestion a few months from now.

I think marketing would, strongly. It's a convenience item, something that goes above and beyond the basic game. What's the point in having an a la carte store if the only things that get sold in it that can't be attainable in-game are things nobody wants anyway like XP Boosters and inspirations? Give them a chance to find some consumables that people might actually find worth paying for.
Ehhh, I don't know about that. You can get the aura and cape unlocked easily in game, but people still bought the global unlock in the market.

But I do see your point.

Also I brought this up because they are going to be making ATIOs and their boosters available in precisely the same way (emps and astrals). Yet they are still selling those. I'd argue ATIOs and their boosters are more valuable than a random converter that may or may not get you what you want.

    /shrug.
