Alright, I did a rikti raid today, and right after the raid, someone said this "wat no ae tickets this sux."
Is architect entertainment dominating this game to the point where people think they get the tickets no matter what they're doing?
So far, since AE came out, I've seen this :
-Stone tanks that don't have granite
-Regens without Integration
-WP's without Rise to the Challenge
-Kinetics without Fulcrum Shift
-Fire Controllers without Fire Imps
and last but not least...
-Empaths without Adrenalin Boost.
... Is there still people out there that actually play the game and not farm to 50? >.>

It's thier 15 bucks leave em be.

Not until they stop mucking up my Game.
Its my $15 I demand to play with competent people. Stop telling me how to play. -

Just seems that way....
[/ QUOTE ]
Used to be pretty active. It's been quiet ever since the Nin vs. EA wars ended.
[/ QUOTE ]
They Ended? Who won?
Edit: Nevermind, question previously asked -
The Downtime on hasten is actually slightly worse because when hasten ends it then has that duration without its Own Recharge Buff affecting it.
The Defense you achieve is much higher but it also trades in some things Im not sure I want to, like DPS from Parry and 2 Purple sets Id like to use for Exemplaring and having that additional Recharge bonus.
It seems to give up too much to achieve the chain that I originally wanted, but Im okay with a HS -> Hack -> DB -> Parry -> HS chain if I can manage it -

This is what I ended up with after all was said and done. I think its more functional and I like what Ive accomplished. -

The only bind I use on my Scrapper is a Combat Jumping / Super Jump one.
CJ.txt (activates Combat Jumping)
numpad1 powexecname Combat Jumping$$bindloadfile c:\coh\sj.txt
SJ.txt (activates Super Jump)
numpad1 powexecname Super Jump$$bindloadfile c:\coh\cj.txt
Now when I play I hit Numpad 1 to activate Combat Jumping and hit it again to turn it off and activate Super Jump. Rinse repeat, that way I don't forget to turn Combat Jumping on after traveling.

/bind (key) "powexec_toggleon Combat Jumping$$powexec_toggleon Super Jump"
Hit that key to swap back and forth. Keep one in a tray to just click off if need be -
Thanks
At this point Im wondering if I even need hasten in the build or not.
Im looking at the Chain without hasten: Parry (For Opening) -> HS -> Hack -> DS -> Parry -> HS -> Hack -> DS or some such. Itll work out in actually play. Im looking to possibly solo AVs but mostly for an excellent team Killer and something that can solo AE arcs and AVs with Minor assistance (A Shivan).
Im not sure what Id replace Hasten with, if I continue along the defense route I might get Manuevers but...thats an ugly cost for effect so Im not sure. Mebbe Hover? -

The idea of the Defense was that with the 15% Already there, its like a Free Parry. And that means I have one less parry I need to maintain and can take an Alpha better (I like to Tank with my scrapper)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, but you will need 2 Parries on top of your other defense to reach the softcaps (45%) to melee and lethal and floor enemies' chances to hit you with those types of attacks.
For most PvE situations, 1 Parry will give you some very sturdy defense, especially with all your cool powers like Cloak of Fear and damage resistance and Dark Regen backing it up. In fact, I'd say that in most normal situations 1 Parry will be ample for you.
But if you maintained stacked Parry on top of all those things, you would be virtually indestructible by melee attackers or by lethal damage. So I thought it would be a good idea to plan out single-parry and stacked-parry chains that you could transition into according to the circumstances.
I'm really only an expert on BS/Shield and I don't use Parry at all unless I switch to my leveling build for exemping down pretty far, but I know that for your build, it's something you definitely want to make room for in your attack chains.
[/ QUOTE ]
With most of my passive Defense in CoF and possibly Defense Via IOs itll let me rely less on having parry Hit and needing to have it up, as well as getting hit really hard first thing if I miss when I leap into a group. Parry is excellent but it really is only Melee/Lethal and the IO'd defense is a 15% vs All. I eventually would like it to be 18% with a Glad Defense IO (God thats expensive) and then on top of the ToHit Debuff with CoF sitting at 7.5% Thats a possible 25% Overall Defense (Sorta) tossing a Single parry on that makes it 40% which is fairly nice initial defense with only a single parry chain. -

I had the -Res Proc in Whirling for AoE -Res for teaming purposes. This is a General PvE Build with the intention of solo and team capability.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, didn't see that. Basically, when fighting minions, Achilles' Heel only catches up to a regular old damage proc under IDEAL circumstances. In all other situations, a regular damage proc wins. Since AoEs tend to be mostly for minion munching, they're a poor spot for the Achilles' Heel proc. Save them for your single-target boss killing chain.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would make sense. That means I can just shift the slot Over to Hack and have it work in there.
Any advice on Optimal Slotting for Parry for Procing?
I had a Membrane, 2 Nucleos, Mako Proc, Heca Proc and a 7.5 in there for recharge. But if the 7.5 isnt really needed Id swap it for another Proc as well for more spammable Damage. -
I see. I wasnt sure if I was over-hitting the Recharge and under utilizing my chain.

Your Ideas about Procs in parry are great and completely slipped my mind and is a great Idea! I'll have to add that in.
Edit: What would be the lowest Passive Recharge and Passive + Hasten that I could have to keep the DE -> parry -> HS -> Hack chain? -
It took me a while to settle on what my main was going to be and after much rolling and deleting and indecisiveness concerning him Ive settled on a BS/DA Scrap.
After that was done I tried to think about the different directions you can go with DA and Ive decided to just try and maximize everything

Is the build Ive come up with.
Highlights include 15% Defense vs All (18 if I can get a Gladiators Defense) and then 7.5% ToHit Debuff with Cloak of Fear (That being the reason I chose it over OG)
What Im asking of you Scrapper Experts (And specifically those well versed in BS chains and DA IOing) is:
Is my recharge at a decent enough level that I can manage a HS -> DB -> Hack Chain, subbing Parry in for Hack when needed, or have I overdone that? (Or Underdone).
And are there any tricks Im missing for Maxing out Certain powers?
Note: The Empty slot in Health is for a Panacea Unique depending on how good my endurance is Post-IOing. -

OP, a correction. Rikti Farming: Destroyed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh! Just got done with my first successful run with an easier minion group and nets more xp.
Thanks Posi!
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? So this new nerf was nerfed cancelling out the nerf to create a better MA with even more XP's? YAY for nerf nerfs..!
[/ QUOTE ]
Still making tweaks. Should be finalized soon.
However, since the ban hammer and report happy people are so abundant i'll just unpublish the arc while i'm offline and only publish it when I want to farm.
Genius!

This is the part that the farming reporters don't get. There are at least half a dozen other mobs/mob types that work just as well as Rikti Comms did (maybe 15% less xp) and the resilient have already switched to those mobs. Heck, two people I know PLANNED this and set their missions last night. The difference is, these folks have learned not to open their pieholes and keep this stuff to themselves.
What's especially sad is how people who have been here 5 years, still don't realize that this is a speedbump. What happened after the purple patch? Did farming die then? How about when burn was nerfed? Anything? Or when rikti monkeys got nerfed? Or the original Rikti Comm Officer (and Death Shaman) nerf? Smoke Grenade nerf? Oh oh oh! I5! That musta killed farming!! WHAT?!? It didn't? XP range nerf (both 'dead xp' and the Brickstown tram-based one)?
Please! AE is only "destroyed" for the sheep. If you're a farmer and this is "the end" for you, guess what? You were never a farmer to begin with. Admittedly, neither am I, but I know more than enough of 'em. Over the years, I've watched them change their game and adapt to anything and everything the devs thought to do....and still grindin'. I don't hate farmers or badgers or RPers or newbies or casuals or PvPers or any other group. They're playstyles and just as valid as my own.
AE destroyed lol. Hot_Head, just wait for someone to publicize the next group to farm. You can then follow everyone and do this all over again!!!

This is the most intelligent comment Ive seen since the AE was nerfed.

Just one question for the devs:
Where are the electricity Controllers?
We have the tech costumes that make this fit. I can think of 3 Holds 1 being a group hold, a pet summoning, even an AoE that could be used. I know many people would hate it, but I am just too big of a fan of the end drain to not have that option.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because it would need a large number of new powers. Mental Manipulation was pushing it with World Of Confusion.

Think he was just phrasing that as in general, not within the scope of Proliferation.
However, Where are the Dark/Dark Blasters, And Dark Control? Dark Miasma is nearly done for Dark Control -
Does anyone else realize more and more when they proliferated Powersets that there are just certain ATs you wish you could bring across?
Id like to Bring Corrupters and Stalkers to Heroes, not for any other reason than I like their playstyle and want to play them on a Heroes Map.
Disregarding Thematics, I just mechanically like them better than their counterparts. -
Bleh. At least theyre fun for PvE.
-
Forts used to be good Vside from what I had heard, not anymore? Defense got clipped?
-
Just make Elec/Elec Tanks and we'll call it a Solid Issue for Proliferation.
We'll also call it the 4th Time Ive deleted my main when he was above level 40 but hey, I want my Thunder Titan -
By looking at the volume of posts responding here...
Absoluty Wonderful. Whats up Rikti? -
Looking for a Build Heroside and Villainside that can be fairly effective in most matches.
Id like something thats going to be a good base and godly after IOs (If thats still possible)
For Vills Ive heard Elec/Therm, and Heroes Fire/Therm or Mind/Therm were solid, but I was wondering what other options there were. -

I also think its funny that all these people are defending the farming Spam when its obviously not something the Devs are okay with and are just like 'Ignore it and go play your game, its not affecting you!'
[censored]. It is affecting me. Im having difficulty getting PuGs Together, TFs together, or anything thats not a Fracking AE Farm. I dont mind running the missions but Id like to not kill level 54 Bosses for the rest of my time in CoH.
Anyone who says it HASNT affected their PuGing is Lying. -

My biggest complaint is that we should have gotten the info on the Merit Changes BEFORE the patch went live.
[/ QUOTE ]
and again, Why? What good would that have done you?
<ul type="square">[*]They actually DID warn us it was coming over a week ago.
There has been a forum thread tracking the changes, since the 3rd of this month.[*]The devs do NOT like to give much, or any warning, when they are fixing something that they look at as an exploit, or something that is not being played as intended.[/list]
You just wanted to run the cherry rewards a few more times?
.
[/ QUOTE ]
This isnt an Exploit, stop throwing Fingers. We want information and its information that would be nice to have.
What good does it to do have a lack of information?
And it could be something that impacts our play or something to discuss with friends.
Damn you act like asking for them to Fully post the changes they make to the damn game is blasphemy.
