Slotting Wise, are you going to want to focus on adding Res to the shields or will DR just nerf those right down?
I know theyre good to have for Steadfast and whatnot, but wasnt sure if theyre really employed in team PvP as much. -

We're just looking for input from all the community leaders on Freedom. Some of the big names that come to mind are Miss Rose and Hatter, Sneaky and that crew, just want to get a feel for an idea is all

Quote:Aion just came out.Yup... Dragon Age is a long game to play through, and very replayable, so a lot of people are going to latch onto it. It should appeal to the likings of many CoH and other MMO players, actually. And that's just one game.
We'll probably see another uptick with our new Holiday event, and whenever the next update comes. People always want to see the new shinies, wherever they may be.
CoD:MW2
Assassins Creed 2
Dragonage
Borderlands
Left 4 Dead 2
Mass Effect 2 is on the horizon
Its the Christmas of gaming, tons of new games in a very short time, people are taking a break to go play all the awesome **** thats coming out.
Subs might be the same, but not all those people are playing. Give it some time. -
Quote:One thing I have found. I set my fire/kin to +1/x8 NO Bosses. However, if I dual box, I still get bosses. The Boss setting says do you want to spawn bosses SOLO. Once you dual box you get bosses.
So I still 'map' the mission solo (and the bosses downgrade to LTs) and then invite. Yes this is a hassle, but still preferable to the old way. I would have to map the mission to get the mobs the old way too, but have to find 6 more padders. Ha.
It works like this: The settings apply to yourself and your missions.
You set yourself to 8, no bosses, itll spawn for 8 players but no bosses. As soon as you add a player, it treats it like youre suddenly 9 players, and overrides and will spawn like an 8 man team.
This also applies to EBs/AVs. If you dont wanna fight AVs solo, you need to keep your effective team count below 6, even when teaming. So you can reduce it down and have 5 people on the team but itll only spawn an EB if youre set to x1, but if youre above that, set to x2+ itll spawn an AV, because its treating you as an extra count for teaming purposes. -
How about before we get ANOTHER crappy S/L Set, they give us some more Elemental Love.

This works. Regen as well, Spines is extremely effective for PvP, not super great for PvE but on teams itll shine with its AoEs.
DM is more solid for PvE, and at level 50 PvP your primary doesnt matter as much as your Patron (Trow Sharks) so you can prolly get away with whatever you want.
Any stalker is 'Fairly Solid' in PvP if you build it correctly and learn how to play it well. Most people still cant figure out how to counter us well, so you just take those opportunities to killem. -
Well Im sure Sixy would love you in our SG but we're not that active. GL though I dont know of any Quality SGs. Maybe if all the awesome people heroside formed one, but meh
-
You know this is nearly pointless right?
-
Quote:And Im just speaking from the Realm of Min-Maxing. When youre IOd to the point that it takes two seconds for your Throw Spines to recharge and having Build Up Available for the start of every group and then some, the Damage Auras might be pointless.Which you can do with a spines/elec too with a kin. I see where you are coming from for sure, but it also depends on what enemies you are fighting, got two bosses? When slotted for enough end redux it becomes worth it even then. With elec, having extremely good end management, its even added DPS when facing just a single boss or lt even.
I'm not saying hero stats is the end all, but i've easily been in any situation where the damgae auras helped. Even on my spine/inv i IOd for farming, quills helps to take out enemies. And as invuln with no extra endurance power like elec armor has, and he has no end problems at all.
So when its all extra for you, not to mention set bonuses , it just adds to your efficiency.
I also said its something that a player should decide for themselves and that for farming (Especially with a Kin) The Auras are useful, for PvE they are less useful.
And you can get set bonuses yes, but you could easy trade the Damage Auras for an Epic and Third AoE or more survivability if youre attempting to squeeze them all in on top of Tough-Weave-Stamina-Travel Power and the useful spines abilities. -
Quote:No, the third thing is that Spines has more than one secondary effect -- Toxic DOT and slow. While many sets have one or two powers with an additional secondary effect, Spines has it in every power and some have even more (Impale and Ripper for example).
Considering that the previous poster said exactly what you said and that there was one more thing as well....the point of your post is what? -
For some reason I have my Doubts it was 4 Fully Fledged AVs then. Not even an IO'd Build could take that punishment since any two attacks in a row from them would drop the Regen.
-
Quote:The Third thing would be how Throw Spines is breaking da rulez.I remember Castle mentioning that if he were to look at Spines it wouldn't be because it would needed to be buffed. He mentioned specifically the stacking slows, the random immobilize and one more thing but I cannot remember the third issue he had. I like spines the way it is, please don't bring any attention to it.

Quote:Example: I have two AoEs that deal 125 Damage, I can fire them back to back. My Teammate has an AoE that deals 70 Damage.Wait, I'm confused. The ammount of damage a damage aura does isn't as important as if it kills something?
The Enemies have 200HP.
My AoE Plus his AoE is just shy of killing him, therefore mathematically his AoE is pointless when I can fire my 2nd and finish the group.
DoT Auras are your Teammate with the Pointless AoE here. They may generate lots of pretty damage, but they are not as useful as people want to believe.
Herostats showing giant Numbers doesnt show the entire truth. -

Ive just come back and not had a single issue teaming or otherwise, Especially with the new SSK System. -
Quote:Fixt.Tankers: “Scrappers do waaaay more damage than us AND have comparable defenses! Even though we dont have the same Caps, HP or ability to take Heavy hits without Extreme IOing that can close the Gaps immensely and make Tanks Gods”
Brutes: “Scrappers are better than us in PvP! But since all melee sucks in general thats like saying Im angry they get 7th and Im 8th!”
Controllers: “Scrappers do more DPS than us! Even though we're a control AT and Damage Dealing is not our Main Purpose!”
Corruptors: “Scrappers solo better than we do! Even though Scrappers are the Primary Heroside Soloing AT and Corrupters are a Team Oriented Offensive/Buff-Debuff Mixture and this complaint is invalid!”
Defenders: “Scrappers do more damage, have higher defenses AND solo better than we do! SEE CORRUPTERS”
Blasters: …/faceplant, lrn2blaster
Dominators: “PToD doesn’t affect Scrappers! We’re worthless in big fights! And thats a Scrappers fault how? You can still deal damage similar to a scrapper”
Kheldians: “We can’t solo AVs like a Scrapper! lol, Kheldians.”
Stalkers: “I want to Scrap like a Scrapper! If you cant scrap like a scrapper on your Stalker why are you playing?”
Blasters: “SCRA!...” /faceplant, SEE BLASTER. -
Youre Silly.
Spines is an AoE Beast and MA Cant compare in the least. Between Throw Spines and Spine Burst a single well positioned spiner can decimate a group before an MA can finish Eagles Claw.
Now when you get down to Single Target Nitty Gritty, MA blows Spines away, but thats because Spines is a Burst AoE Set, and MA is a lackluster ST set. -
Quote:Damage auras are WAY more than worth it. Put up herostats and it'll show you just how much damage the damage aura's are doing for you.
Personally its one of the deciding factors to ever take an armor set that has it. If youre going to skip the damage aura, then you might as well choose a different armor that is stronger to keep you alive, like willpower or IOd SR.
And you show me where the damage Aura KILLED anything or did anything besides dropped the mobs health 2% before you two shotted the group as a Spiner.
Damage Auras are nice, but people take Herostats way out of context. Fractional Overkill.
If I have a Mob with 150HP, 2 AoE attacks that deal 100 and 75, and Im running DoT Auras that tick for 10hp every second, I dont need the DoT Auras (Gross Oversimplification, but it explains my point) The only thing DoT Auras tend to be useful for are Finishing the Sliver of Health enemies, or eliminating them, but Honestly with how quickly Throw Spines recharges vs Having both DoT Auras running, one more TS finishes a group, Not to mention when grouping You have additional AoE covering you.
The *only* time Ive seen DoT Auras really be useful is when Im farming on my Spines/DA with a Kin buffing me. Watching me shave ticks of 50 between my Auras is kinda nifty on groups Ive herded. -
Quote:I'll take that Fight. Regen has fallen a bit in the standings with the Advent of IOs. Its a nice Middle of the road set when compared to the capability of IOd SRs and Shielders.Them's fightin' words, boyo, and while you're in the right place for that, you're like to find you're a wee bit outnumbered.
God-Like also depends on what you want to do. In general for PvE? Id say a Fire/Shields IO'd to the gills is as Godlike as youre ever going to get. -

Try something more like this.
Shockwave is BEYOND useful you just have to master how to use it. With CJ and Hurdle you can jump right above a mob and shockwave it creating a KD effect. Easiest way to do it is to get in the center, Spin, pick a center enemy, Leap straight up and Shockwave. Instant KD effect and amazing AoE output, far more useful than any of the Epic AoEs because of the lack of Redraw and much better damage.
Note: Alotta picks were just filler, theres a ton of flexibility in this build, but my firm belief is that if youre skipping Shockwave, you should reroll as a Spines
