Awww, man..... Not even sure what to say. I loved Col Potter....

I continue to use the origin power on my stalker just for the visual effect. I like it and would even be happy even just having that one attack scale to remain useful.

Quote:Yeah, I'll sign on for the beach party and sunbur aura.Yes! "Beach party" was my first thought. Those are some great ideas. My enemy idea was sea monsters.
Also need flipflops a a show option.
Further, if they're going to have dozensof heroes running around without shoes, they can finally fix bare feet so that they look like feet and not boots. -
I have a question and maybe someone here can answer, but it is pretty vague:
Quite some time back I saw a clip of some anime and would like to know the name. The clip had two girls facing each other in a darkened hallway. One had a knife, which she braced against the wall with the blade at head level. She then (seemingly under the other girl's mental control) began banging her head against it while the other girl laughed like a maniac.
Any ideas? -
Quote:Nope, those are definitely Celestials.
(Side note: In an issue of Thor, many years ago, Thor managed to breach the helmet of a Celestial. The process of doing so destroyed Mjolnir (it got better), and Thor still wasn't able to harm the Celestial at all.)
That was a great issue. I totally loved it. Thor fought like hell and at the end, realised he had used all his strength and destroyed Mjolnir to basically just scratch the Celestial...
... who was one of the weaker Celestials.
In the end, though, they sent an avatar to him and said that "even the Celestials respect the bond you have with Mjolnir" and restored it. One of my favourite Thorr issues of that time.
Anyhow, as for the X-Men... I just don't see how they could do anything to attract the attention of one Celestial, let alone so many. -
So, now that we know we won't be seeing it in the show, anyone care to spoil me in regards to the "nice but small" interactions of Sophia and Carl?
-
Quote:That actually makes a lot of sense to me and I can see it happening...Interesting theory at Cracked.
...but I hope to hell not. -
Part of what I liked about this was that every character was instantly recognisible as their toy/ cartoon counterpart without looking ridiculous.
-
Parts of that were really well done, but they lost me with the inclusion of... other characters...

Quote:I can see this. It's hard enough to accept when a loved one is suddenly killed but it'd probably be even harder to accept that death if that loved one was still sort of shuffling around apparently "almost" alive. *shrugs*
Personally, if I saw the walkers surviving some of the wounds that they do and still getting up and walking around, I would view this as pretty close to proof that the supernatural does exist. If you then have that "proof" added to pre-existing faith, then it is a small leap to conclude that there could be divine intervention at some point. -
Lol.
People are getting hung up on my seemingly contradictory statements.
I always felt that I never saw it much in game because it is rare to have.
I figured being rare to have might mean there are other people who don't have it who would like to.

Quote:Note that i said I never see it, which is not the same as "nobody who has it uses it.". I'm sure that people who have it use it fairly often. I just don't see anyone using it, which makes me think it is pretty rare. Then again, I tend to play when there aren't too many other people online. So since you never see it being used in the game why would the company decide to sell it since it isn't being used by the people that actually bought the CoH Collectors DvD?
Seems kind of silly to sell something that no one is interested in.
Just pointing out how odd your statement sounds. Personally, I think they should sell the perk pack they used to have for this power again.
I hadn't seen Zombie Man's thread before he linked to it, but that right there shows that I am not alone in wanting it. There have been a number of "exclusive" things that have become widely available. I don't understand the rationale behind not allowing anyone to have this ever again.
/shrug -
It just seems a bit odd to me that they would want to make an item permanently unavailable. If it were something that could be earned, I would understand not selling it. Or even vice-versa. But to make it impossible to obtain seems a bit silly. I am sure I am not the only one who would like to get it.
There's probably some new players who would buy it if they could.
Anyhow, I'm not gonna argue it or anything. It just seems like an odd decision. I never see it being used in game. -
That's too bad, as it suits one of my guys perfectly. I understand not wanting to sell items that were rewards, bonuses with purchases or give-aways in the past, but AFAIK, there is now no way to ever obtain it, correct? It cannot be earned in game, to my knowledge.

Just out of curiosity, is the slide power available to purchase anywhere in the market? I haven't been able to find it.

I created an archenemy for one of my main heroes and he was truly vile. He was thousands of years old and my hero was the latest in a line of secret defenders that had fought against him throughout the centuries. Back in ancient times, he had found a way to prolong his life by draining the souls of children. Before killing them, he would usually... have his way... with them. In modern nights, he needed to feed off of metahuman children, thus linking him in a way to several of my characters in one large soap opera. I made him as vile as I could so that there would be no redeeming qualities about him and no doubt as to whether or not he was simply a "misunderstood" character.
I used this villain in some of the stories I was writing and also created him in-game. As I continued to write about him and my hero's attempts to destroy him, I found that I just couldn't play him in the game. He was too evil and I couldn't find a way to feel comfortable assuming his identity. I had to delete him and then also promptly killed him in my stories. I was actually happy with the way I did it, as the one who killed him was a mortal, unpowered human police detective who had been investiagting the deaths of several children. He was confronted by her as he lay wounded from fighting a coalition of my heroes. He tried to drain her lifeforce to heal himself, but since he could now only drain metahumans, he couldn't affect her. He offered her anything she desired to help him, protesting "I am an god!" She shrugged and said "I am an atheist," and shot him between the eyes.
After a certain length of time, I made an alternate-reality version of him, which I attempted to make at least slightly more palatable, but he still just felt too evil. I wound up killing him "across all times, all dimensions, so that no trace of him existed in the mutiverse", so that I wouldn't be tempted to recreate him yet again and further dilute the effect of his original death.
Now, I have a couple of villain characters, but most of them have made the transition to Rogue. I do have one character who is pretty much a pure villain, but even he thinks he is doing what he was ordained by fate to do, so he feels that he is in the right.
I really don't see any other way that I would be comfortable with a villain at the moment. -
just noticed on my SS tanker that Knockout Blow barely lifts a target off the ground. Punch knocks them up higher.

Yeah, I remember that, too. It was amost a joke. David Addison as an action hero? What were they smoking? Of course, it wasn't long before people wouldn't believe me when I related this.
-
yeah, this irritated me and I didn't even watch the original. As mentioned above, though, this is what you can expect from older shows being made into movies. I remember when there was talk about Jim Carrey doing the movie version of The Six Million Dollar Man. I never saw any treatment for it, but I assume it centered around the fact that six million isn't a lot of money these days for a cyborg. I imagine the film would have been filled with hilarious moments such as Steve's legs breaking down, causing him to flop around on the ground like an idiot, or his arm rusting off.

The worst part?
Trying to find the damned contact.
I was looking for the name/ location of the contact, skimming through some threads here to see if I could find that out. Still don't know who it is, or where he is, but I have managed to spoil the "reveal" for myself. -
Wow, the sense of entitlement lately is a bit odd. I mean, we used to go months with nothing and now people re complining that there aren't amazing new releases every week.
For me, part 3 of the SSA is just fine on it's own. If the new aura is nice, I would be fine with that one item. I personally don't need to be blown away on a weekly basis.
