Quote:The seeds aren't being sent over (that's the GM in First Ward), seedlings are (those are the little buffing critters that the GM sends out). Seedlings, when defeated, give temporary flight to characters who attacked it. So anyone with a little bounce and a ranged attack can get a hit in and then after the first seedling is defeated, can fly like the big boys and girls do.So is Colonel Duray the jetpack hander-outer, then? Non-flying characters are going to have to get up to that Seed somehow!
Alternately, craft a jetpack for cheap, or buy one for a pittance. -
Quote:You forgot the second half of that last sentence, which goes: ".... as it has to do with the game world of City of Heroes."Even if you own the IP rights yourself, and can prove it, it's still rather "iffy" on getting the name change reversed if it is clearly a name from another source. As soon as you create a character in City of Heroes, it is NC Soft, and NOT the player who owns the character, and any rights associated with the character.
You don't give up the character in its entirety. Only in how that character exists within the game world. Example: If your character is from a book that has nothing to do with the game, then that book character is perfectly safe from NCsoft's ownership of the City of Heroes version. -

Quote:Yeah, one of the things I pointed out to someone on a global channel about the monthly licenses was:Exactly.
Maybe it's because i live in what's considered a First World environment, but i spend more than $2 *a day* on beverages. Those who whinge about having to spend $2 *a month* to have access to IOs while playing CoX without spending anything more to play the game completely exasperate me. Especially since they're paying approximately 7.5 times that a month to play the game right now.
Anyway, $2 a month works out to under 7 cents a day. If you can't find a way to get an additional 7 cents a day in your budget then playing any computer games at all should probably be one of your lowest priorities.
"Do you pay for things with cash?"
"Yes, sometimes."
"--You could put all of your change in a jar and probably have more than enough to make up for the $2/mo license...possibly even $4/mo for two licenses.
--What are you paying for your internet/tv/(possible phone) service?"
"About $120."
"And you pay that every month?"
"Yes."
"--You could drop even ONE of your services down a notch on the quality scale and more than make up for your monthly license fee.
--You could skip lunch at a restaurant ONCE and more than make up your monthly license fee for two, three, maybe even SIX MONTHS.
--You could buy store brand bread instead of name brand bread and make up your monthly license fee, possibly for several months, depending.
--There is NO REASON to be pancaking about a TWO DOLLAR monthly fee. Go check out Zimbabwe, where they live on less than ONE DOLLAR A DAY. THEN you can complain about a two dollar monthly fee." -

They deleted the image from the main page, but Google Image Search cached it.
(It's a spoof on the 3 Wolfs and Moon teeshirt sold on Amazon. The topmost wolf is female. As you can see, it looks nearly exactly the same except smaller, and with boobs.)
edit: scooped by Angel with a better shot! I dug around trying to find an article with it. -

Wow, CoV website V.2 was awesome! They should totally do that again for something.

Quote:That is the point of the suggestion. If they are running low on inf, they don't want to outlevel their inf gain, so double inf/no XP means they'll gain inf faster. The setting says "Double Inf, No XP" so it will be pretty obvious why they are getting no XP.The only thing with the db Inf while being at a lower lever in anything they won't get the XP to level while a lower level. It might be faster for money(infany/influence) but slower in the process of leveling a character. I am just assuming some person will ask why am I not getting any XP with db inf
Quote:On a side note of doing the no XP thing is to make a character and bring a character to each level starting of the Mayham bank missions since they are scarce of villain side. To help newer ppl get [invader] for health -
They said at the PAX panel (I was there, this isn't secondhand rumors) that buying all of the contents of a pack will be more expensive on the Market. So I'm not holding my breath for the prices to come down very far.
-
Buying everything from what used to be a Booster Pack will cost considerably more than what the pack originally called (except the Party Pack). As much as three times as much, if purchased piecemeal. There will be collections of items/costumes, possibly even to include the whole shebang, but they aren't on the market yet in beta... and it's not likely to cost the same as it did before.

Right next to "Name: ______" there is a button that says "Dynamic" or "Level Up". Try clicking that.

Quote:I dropped a DO, an IO, an insp, and a recipe on my freebie account from my VIP account. (I was able to vendor the recipe but could do nothing with the IO. [edit: I wonder if I bought a respec if I could sell it like normal after the enhancement portion]) I haven't done it since we first got the freebie accounts, so it might have been a brief buggy period. That is not my experience, though I haven't tested it rigorously or recently. When I first made my free-member hero, a fellow player told me that he attempted to drop an enhancement on me and it was rejected. Have you dropped something on a free member (not Premium) and they received it?
This is a huge letdown if they changed that. -
Quote:Sort of, since you called it simple. I can see it going either way.Did I give the impression that I was refuting the post I quoted?
(edit: Since you're not English-as-a-first-language, a quickie clarify...gross misunderstanding means huge misunderstanding...not typically simple.) -

It's pretty likely it's a little more involved than flipping a switch to say "these items can be sold now" and "these items can no longer be purchased". There was probably agreements made with processing companies, etc., that would restrict that. ASSUMING (I'm sure you know the saying about "assume") that it's simple to change the plans is equally silly.
-
You can't TRADE items, but you can still gift items. Just drop the insp on the freebie and it will show up in their inventory as normal. You just can't do it via the trade window. All accounts, regardless of type, are not restricted from gifts.

Yes, you need credit card information to sign up, or a time card, or a game card. However, you can immediately cancel your subscription and remove your credit card from the account and nothing untoward will happen.
When Freedom launches, this will no longer be the case. But until then, you still need it. -
Quote:They removed everything because it was supposed to launch September 1. Free trials ended on August 29. All the paid product left the store on August 30. Then Freedom was supposed to launch September 1. However, there are showstopper bugs in beta that are still being worked out (part of one bug isn't in our development's control but another company entirely) so you can't really blame them.Removing all of the stuff from the store before Freedom was a terrible move. They will have to wait a good while to play for free, since we are getting the head start before Freedom really launches.
I mean, you CAN blame them, but it'd be kinda silly and mean. -
Quote:I don't think I've ever taken out Lusca with a full team, let alone multiple teams.Lusca can be a pain but these days one good team can handle her easily.. years ago, before IOs and purpled out builds, most people wouldn;t get near that giant squid with less than 2 teams and even then it could get nasty.. I left one failed attempt with over 100,000 debt on a 20 level character ...this was before patrol xp could wipe that out over night . It took almost an entire level to get rid of that.
And I don't think I've fought her since IOs came out. lol -
Quote:People who don't defend their trademarks lose their trademarks. It's QUITE LIKELY that generic'ing was part of the settlement. Players petitioning violators are assisting the game, not participating in PVP.People like to pretend they are protecting the game from a lawsuit by getting people genericed, but the above is the actual truth of the matter. It's a form of PvP, people destroying a character just because they can.
The lawsuit was settled a long time ago, there is no threat at all of a new lawsuit, and there is no need whatsoever for any player to report TM violations. Absolutely none. Except the above mentioned PvP.
Most of the time I send a tell to violators, warning them they'll likely get generic'd if they keep their name/costume/whatever. If they respond that they know, I nod my head and go on my way. If they respond that they didn't know, I'll explain why they are skirting a touchy issue. If they respond combatively, then I'll petition them myself. (This hasn't happened very often; City players are generally cool people.) -
That will do nothing to rearrange the windows inside the game, which is what the OP wants. He doesn't want two window sizes on one computer, he wants one resolution size per computer that has a different in-game window layout for each.

I've been having troubles logging in since I posted. The only way for me to get in was to reinstall the Launcher.
I looked and had .4 in my addcache.xml and changed it to .88 and got in fine. Changed it back to .4 and couldn't get in again. Back to .88 and got in fine.
Culprit! -
Too lazy to be a hero *or* a villain. So much effort to do either. Much better to sit at my computer and pretend to be a hero or villain.
Probably would think it was a joke and throw the whole thing in a box in my closet and forget about it until I move, then repeat each time I move until I die and it gets thrown out with other junk or sold in my estate sale.
