He also agreed any nerf to PSW would have to be offset by buffs to the Psi Assault but since that hinders your argument...you'll ignore that piece of information I'm sure.
[/ QUOTE ]
keep reading. you must have missed where I mentioned compensating the set and how I think it is going to be done.
It is not hindering my argument as I wasn't making an argument. I asked a question based on what I witnessed his playstyle to be.
If he plays pbaoe and hypothetically they buffed psy scream to do triple the current damage (not going to happen though), he no longer plays pbaoe and no longer leverages AA to full effect.
I'm not sure what you are tying to accomplish, or get me to say. We've been told psw is likely going to mimic the blaster version and we've been told psi will be compensated to help offset the change. Unless DP gets a heap of damage added, or another power is turned in to a pbaoe it is very likely going to result is a semi-to-drastic play style change for /psi users.
There is no one trying to spin anything here. Just a dude saying: "hey you like your ice/psi enough to create a video and post about it, that's cool. How would you feel when your playstlye for that toon is drastically changed? Because we are on the eve of that happening."
I haven't said a single time in any post that PSW shouldn't be changed, just that I hope the feel of the set remains. The feel is up close and personal low/mediocre aoe damage with mediocre-to-high pbaoe dps under high recharge.

To be fair, his argument is a hell of a lot more reasoned and balanced than Ditzy_Blonde's. Based off of the very limited information available, he made a measured guess. It might not be one you agree with, but it is measured...And he explained the logic of it, so you can debate that.
Now I for one, am completely refraining from speculation or comment as there is far too much of that going on already. I'll wait a bit until we get some more information (if Castle deigns to give us any, considering the shellacking he got in the I15 Dom Buffs thread-something that is an embarrassment for our community, I might add). -

I wonder how the bind files will work?...Transferring them all will be troublesome
[/ QUOTE ]
Another good one for my guide.
The bind files are just text, and can easily be moved via file sharing or a USB stick.
[/ QUOTE ]
Moving them wouldn't be too difficult - the problem I'd forsee is the fact that within the CoH application itself (well, the Mac version anyways) is a miniature Windows installation. You'd have go into the application files, find that installation, and copy the bind files to where you want them, because I don't think the Transgaming software references locations outside its own application bundle.
[/ QUOTE ]
My point in this is that I have a LOT of dynamically linked bind files, I'm interested in seeing how the pathing is going to work for the bind loads. I get they're flat text files, but do we use POSIX pathing or other methods?
Otherwise it's a 1-to-1 on the transfer. Keys are keys, after all. -
I wonder how the bind files will work?...Transferring them all will be troublesome *shudder*
Oh, and 'bout freakin' time... -
Jumping in on what UltraPrime said. The availability of RSS feeds for that is kinda old news to those of us paying attention, but Official Dev and Community Digest feeds would rawk teh awesome...
I have no idea why I said that. :-/ -
Sweet! just in time too, I got mine today ;p

Yeah, we've got a couple of little ones who guest star on our SG from time to time, children of other members, I think they're about 5 and 7 respectively. We have what's called the "Pants rule" in effect when they're on one of our teams or on our vent server.
See some of us have methods of speech that slightly resemble Red Foxx with Tourrets *cough*me*cough*, so whenever they're around, I have to replace several of the words in my sentences with "Pants", leading to rather disturbing Smurf like monolouges.
"That Pantsing Pantser kribbed my Pantsing Pants-loving Kill! Pantsing Pants-monkey!" has been said more than once.
Like I said, Red Foxx with Tourettes. -

LH, I am a long-time vet and my experiences match what is being described above. I don't think I've received an email other than purchase/upgrade confirmations for about a year.
The issue is not client-side. There is something wrong with your bulk email distribution. Have your people check it and don't just assume that the problem is our fault.
I find myself incredulous at the fact that I'm arguing for getting bulk mail, lol.

Funny thing. Hallowed and I are long-time sg mates and joined the game at roughly the same time. I GOT the message, and he didn't. Even though we usually get the notices at roughly the same time. -
I wonder, will villains have the opportunity to raid the wedding?
It's not like it doesn't have a precedent in comic culture...
Fantastic Four Wedding, anyone? -

2) Leviathan Mastery - because the armor is a passive, reistance-based armor. This is a huge deal now, where you can slot it out with both mezz & knock-back protection without having to mess with another toggle. Might not be as effective against other armors (who cares about cold resistance), but it is certainly economical.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but this information is just wrong. It's a toggle. While I've taken Leviathan mastery for my level 50 dom for concept reasons, it as a whole underperforms when compared to Mu Mastery. Your mileage may vary, but I wanted to set the record straight on the armor. -
*Sorry about the necro posting, but as this pertains to this particular build, I was all about consolidating.*
In slotting Arctic Air going for procs (I have 3 of the damages), I have the following:
Cacophony: Chance for Damage and End/Confuse, Malaise Illusion: Chance for Damage and End/Confuse, Glimpse of the Abyss: Chance for Damage, and a single endurance reducer IO.
This gives me a significant end reduction on the cost (essentially two slotting endurances), an extra confusion bonus that I wouldn't normally have going with procs, extra recovery (2 slotting malaise gives 2.5% and Cocophony 1%), and of course, 3 of the damage procs (two Psionic, one energy).
I like it so far, and it wasn't terribly expensive, little over 3 mill overall.
*Numbers are based off of memory, and may not be exact*
While I know it's a huge suck on my endurance, I am tempted to take Chilling embrace and slot that with the slow damage proc as well. I'm all about putting procs in toggles lately.
Personally, on my level 50 Plant/Ice, I took GIS simply because I liked the big shiny ice sword of DOOM. I'm not sure if I'm going to grab it with my Ice/Ice yet (Who just got Jack at 32). -

Jeebus, that's a nice guide! Thanks for all your work!

I'm going to chime in with the others and say "great guide!"
I built a Dom (Mother Pain: Plant/Ice) based off of the principles listed here and I'm now rolling at 41 and enjoying the character immensly. I will agree with the others that took Air Superiority, it was a key attack for me in the lower levels and I still use it regularly (fly+follow+air superiority+strangler= Mad smashing fun and my primary -fly technique). -
In all honesty, I actually now have a reason to check out Tabula Rasa, I wasn't all that excited about it before, but now there'll at least be a familiar face (says the guy who's been READING the boards for the last two years, but never saying much)
Cuppa, you've been a valued addition to the team, and you'll be missed around here. Cricket, welcome to the primary. -

Hi, most of those links don't seem to work for me. I keep getting "forum not found" messages.
