  1. So when I go to launch CoH, it puts me into that loading bar that usually doesn't last long, and then pops me to the login screen. Well, in this case it just keeps me on that loading bar for..well, ever it seems. I let it sit there for about 15 minutes, but seeing as how it never took any longer than a 15 seconds before I was confused. I ran the task manager and the program was responding. Tried closing and reopening, same thing happened. Tried verifying the files, and the same result occurs. Little confused as to why this is happening.
  2. hey 47 and darque i'm an old timer..kinda

  4. Now that I've finally gotten back into the game a bit, I decided that it was time to revamp my build. Given that PvP is a pile of crap these days, I decided to roll with a PvE build. I've done a bit of research and found that I needed to be shooting for soft-capped (45%, right?) Ranged defense, and as much AoE defense as possible. I think I came up with something that I like, but I want as much critique as possible before I drastically alter my character.

    Build Up vs. Aim

Definantly Build Up if you have to choose between one or the other. You should have more than enough accuracy with the basic IO's to cover anything you'd face, and in any case you're fighting something with enough defense to make it a problem, you'd probably have buffs anyway
  6. I'll most likely be making a DP/Fire as soon as GR releases for Praetoria, assuming that there aren't any better Primary or Secondary sets released by then. I'm just not too impressed with Dual Pistols. The animations are cool, I guess, but something about them just doesn't impress.
  7. Played a new Energy/Mental Blaster to 15...but quickly realized that I just wanted to run on my main, so I did all of the 14-19 arcs in Oro :P.
  8. How's Aion going? I tried it...got to lv30 and wanted to kill myself because of the grind
  9. I've always like them too...but PvP isn't near as fun as it was before, so I don't really do any of it.

  11. I kinda play with your mentality too, and as everyone else has said, /Energy is the way to go for ranged blasting...however I would pick Fire/ over Arch/ anyday, but I am a bit biased...

If you're trying to solo EB's, you're going to want way more defense, unless you planned on bringing quite a few purples to the fight. Also you might wanna scale down the recharge a bit, after 75% or so Diminishing Returns starts to play its role, and it's kind of a waste. Just my two cents .

  15. I'm surprised that they're isn't a /Dark Blaster secondary yet...

But I agree with whoever commented on the lack of unique Blaster secondaries, it's pretty disappointing. My votes for a new secondary is easily a form of /Dark and maybe even a form of /Storm...take out some of the controlling powers so it isn't a direct port, and add a few melee attacks, etc.
  16. Depends quite a bit on your role. If you're playing a Blaster, a successful character will be one that is able to dish damage out, while being able to run out of LoS at any second. It's really as easy as that, just knowing your role and being able to play it well. IO's and build play secondary to that.

Your best bet is to add Arena to your chat bar, like barrier said. The last thing you want to do is expect someone to help you...most everyone learned the same way, getting their *** kicked enough times to learn how to do it right.

With that said, I wish you luck. Usually if someone asks an intelligent question it'll get answered, so don't be afraid.
  19. It's hard being the "best" at a certain role, considering one person can only do so much. The thing that makes or breaks someone is how much teamwork they can exhibit.
  20. I liked playing my Claws/Regen waaayy back in the day

    Blaster changes?

So here's the build I'm thinking of switching too. Look ok?

I'd say that Freedom probably had us beat in zone activity most of the time because of server population, but I personally think we had them beat on the organized stuff (no offense to the other servers).

Our PvP ladder roster thread is still marked to save if you go look at the Infinity server stuff on these boards. Even with the ongoing PvP issues before i13, we still had 80+ people over like 8 teams-I think-participating. Personally, I poured a lot of time and effort into making things happen there. The devs drowned it away by flooding the whole system with the diarrhea they called i13 and its PvP changes. So, like most PvP'rs across all servers, most of us quit (I did for like a year); everything that we had built up there died. When a few people would come back, their only hope of finding PvP would be on Freedom, so it's really the only serious option now...which is why I'm there too now.
Ahh the days of the IPvPL.
