It's a good thing you put out the warning. I probably would have said something.

Quote:I always preferred this Blapper playstyle. I've used an all-human build since PB's were introduced and despite all the changes to this class, I still find it to be most effective in pvp.IN SOME examples yes!! espiecially after the new quick animation change.. but it all about preference.. i personally dont like toggle loss and when i was dual and triform i only used dwarf to escape with..
I find it alot more effective to just invest in full human form.. and play like a scrapper... with blast...
Nova is great ranged damage but I'm uncomfortable with the fact that all that awesomeness can be erased by one smart guy with a webnade. Dwarf is cool for the extra heal and teleport but ss/sj (and fly as a bonus) provide more than enough mobility in pvp. I know there is no such thing is too much survivability but I've never had the slots to spare to use this option effectively without gimping another area of my build.
The biggest issue for me was the slot crunch that comes with triform. When I make a build I really like to maximize my bonuses and the number of slots in my powers. I could never come up with a triform build that satisfied me. Dividing slots between forms will always leave you vulnerable in one of them and most triforms leave their human form gimped.
Lack of toggles between shifts or a gimped human form is another issue. Triforms become a soft target the moment they shift to use build up, conserve power, essence boost, or reform essence with no toggles up and those moments are guaranteed to come. When I see an enemy triform kheld running around I always take advantage of those moments. The recent form shift time and light form changes make triform a little more viable but they don't change my issues with multiple forms in pvp.
I'm not saying its impossible to make extra forms work because I have seen a few PB's succeed with triform builds. I'm just saying the potential strengths don't outweigh the weaknesses for me. -

Quote:Spawn rate is ok, there's a trick to it.The spawn rate for the zombies in the final part is much too low on a 4 person team. We focused entirely on killing zombies during the time given and only got 70 or so of them before we had to kill the monster in the last 30 seconds. Most of this time was spent flying around in circles looking for more zombies.
Presuming that this is for getting a badge, it will be impossible to do with these spawn rates. At least for a 4 person team, the spawn rates may be higher on a bigger team, if a bigger team is even possible for this trial.
Other than that, it was good. I enjoyed it. -
The playerbase didn't approve of it. Many of us were raging about that debuff (along with other things) and it didn't last long. The idea of any dev thinking PB performance was "ok" prior to the changes is more mind boggling to me. I'm just glad the devs are listening to the playerbase again.

Quote:I think regens get the most out of this power by instantly recharging the heals and stacking or doubling the duration of IH/MoG. Six straight minutes of T9 powers will be useful for other sets.Speed power pool tier 5 power:
Burnout – By sacrificing a large amount of Endurance for a short time, the user can instantly recharge all of their Primary and Secondary powers.
I would assume this will instantly become a must have for every pvp build. What is everyones thoughts to having perma elude and such?
I can see this power being kind of useful for builds that have long recharges on key powers. Things like instantly recharging heatloss, dull pain, or hoarfrost for example.
There are still plenty of builds that won't gain much from this power at all. -
Quote:Inner light can stack which makes it similar to a crashless rage if you have enough recharge. The dmg/tohit values aren't constant for the duration of the buff but they are still decent when they drop. I feel like this is a fair trade for -dmg/-end crashes and the reason why I have to disagree with a rage makeover. Making it clickable in all forms would make sense.Would it be to much to give "Inner Light" the Rage makeover? Would still have to change forms to click it, but it will last longer and it will have the -dam, -end when it crashes as the balance.
If it is to OP then I would like Inner Light to be clickable in all forms. -
Despite all these cool changes, the decision to keep solar flare KB instead of KD is still a deal breaker for players that might consider playing PB's and those that keep them on the shelf right now.

Quote:Yes, the new LF has a 50% HP/end crash. You're also correct on the new risk as tracking the LF crashes while fighting mobs. The light form change is going to make people change their playstyle. You're going to want to keep a heal on standby to deal with the crash which means one less heal to use all the time. The crash is going to cause end issues similar to the rage/hasten crashes that SS users deal with.Does the new LF still crash? If it does, then its situational nature could be to not dying during the crash. Yes, you could wait for it to crash before jumping into a spawn, but that means paying attention and not simply barreling into spawns.
The goal of the new LF was balancing it to eclipse. After testing this change, I feel like the Dev's found a good balance between those powers. -

Nerve and Barrier would be the best choices for a defense based character. If you don't think maximizing defense would be useful (and I have no idea why you would), then musculature and rebirth are the standard choices for most PvP characters.

Quote:Just an FYI you can stop at T3 with Partial Core Invocation and have perma mez protection. The only difference is the size of the aoe at T4. Some of my friends got T4 when T3 would have been enough to meet their goals.Hi,
I recently hit lvl 50 on my human form Warshade and just got the first tier for Clarion. What a huge difference it makes to have status protection!!!! My main goal now is to get the tier 4 Clarion as soon as possible. It makes playing a kheld so much more fun (of course, not that it wasn't already a good time). I just wonder since now that we have this power available to us if there will ever be any consideration by the developers to give us inherent status protection.
Side note: Oh, and if they could just take the KB out of dark detonation, I'd be golden!!! -
Quote:Ageless and storm elementals at 50. Nothing really from 1-49 except a ton of blues. This question applies to both versions of Dwarf, namely, how do you handle large groups of End drainers?
Today I did several missions on a team, and they asked me to act as a Tank. So in mission after mission of Freaks and Arachnos, I would get aggro and do my best to help, all the while watching my End bar go down, down, down until I was no longer in Dwarf, and shortly after my green bar was empty too. Stygian Circle helps a little, but not if you have all the aggro and a status effect on you too!
I can't find any IOs or sets that reduce or resist End drain. Increasing Recovery doesn't help much because most drainers debuff your Recovery too.
So, what's the best approach in this situation? -
-
Galaxy City isn't the only zone with Hellions. Numina could simply send players to the Hollows for that mission. That would be less complicated than a co-op ouro mission and time travel just to kill 10 grey enemies.

Quote:It's really simple for me: I use breakfrees and play the character like a Blapper. There's no way to avoid using breakfrees on an all-human build. If you don't want to depend on breakfrees then you should try the hybrid build. My question for those of you doing human only PB's is this: How bad is it dealing with mez? I'm stuck trying to decide between human only and human/dwarf hybrid. I can't deny that I do more damage and have more utility in the way of heals, stuns, etc, as a full human, but I don't know if I'm comfortable not having the dwarf as a backup for when I get held or slept or something. But if I'm going to use dwarf, then I have to devote a fair amount of slots to it, and of course the human form suffers. Currently, it suffers in not having any worthwhile shields, which unfortunately means that if I start taking chunks of damage I don't have time to shape shift to protect myself.
I know I can slot a fair amount of mez resistance into the build, but it won't help much if mezzes start getting stacked on me, and I don't want to be at the mercy of whether or not I happen to have a spare breakfree in my tray. If all my slots are devoted to the human side, too, then even if I change into a dwarf to avoid being stuck in whatever mez is on me, it's doubtful he'd last long without proper slotting. Not to mention it just feels like the white dwarf is missing an attack, badly. (Or at least needs a lot of recharge.)
Quote:Just double checked and Mids tells me that Light Form does have mez protection, but I can see it's hard to get the recharge down to anything reasonable. As a secondary question, can Light Form be activated during a mez, like White Dwarf can? -
Quote:I've always clicked Dark Extraction to find a UE target since that power targets dead bodies automatically. I'm sure someone else could provide a bind though.Does anyone have a bind to target the dead so I can set up Unchain Essence faster and be able to hit the "F" key (follow) so I can run to a fallen Foe to heal? I went through S.Joe's guide and all I found was binds to target alive targets. I didnt know if all I had to do was switch alive with dead and that would work.

Quote:^^^This.I agree with THB on this. It is possible that becoming more vocal would put pressure on the devs, and it's not like it is going to hurt us to do so. That's why I think Time Shadow's Comprehensive PB Proposal thread was such a good idea. I'm tired of hating my pb. I'm tired of seeing "lolkhelds." I'm tired of having arbitrary limitations that are neither sensible nor balancing.
I don't think it's necessarily in the same boat as pvp. Fix pvp, and several people will go back to it, and some pve'ers will do it casually again. Fix khelds, and a slew of people will try an AT that they previously avoided because it had the stigma of being "gimped." Khelds also being a future "unlockable-with-points" AT means that they are going to risk disappointing a lot of people by selling them a "broken" archetype.
I'm crossing my fingers that CoH Freedom means they may have to address Kheld concerns or risk losing money. New players will hear the playerbase saying "lolkhelds" and they may not be willing to pay real money to try them out. The Dev's might not see the Kheld situation as a big deal but someone from marketing will. -
Swap out Starless Step. You will be in melee all the time between inky aspect, pets, heals, eclipse, sunless mire, and the nuke so I doubt you'll have a reason to use tp foe often. You'll have to steal slots from somewhere but its worth it.
-
Umm, except for Incandescent Strike, the melee animations bear more resemblance to Super Strength, then Energy Melee. Radiant strike is a clone of Jab which means two out of three melee attacks came from SS.
-
Most PB powers were derived from Super Strength, energy blast, and rad blast. Those sets have alternate animations so most of the work has already been done. I wouldn't be against importing kinetic melee animations as well.

I'd like to see changes that are closer to the concept outlined in the power description.
Quote:I want seeker AI to be fixed after being broken for 6 years and a recharge reduction. I use seekers as a nuke because the AI is terrible. I would like them to become more like Northern Lights. The Dev's would only change the concept from "zero in on their targets and detonate on impact" to "zero in on their targets, attack, and detonate on impact". The seekers would attack for their duration and detonate as they expire. This would add a simple and useful twist while maintaining the cottage rule. Peacebringer's would pick up the extra pet damage Warshades enjoy and their damage output would probably be more on par with them. You manifest 3 spheres of light from your Kheldian essence. These spheres will follow you until they detect an enemy target. The Photon Seekers will then zero in on their targets and detonate on impact. The explosion is small but devastating and may affect multiple foes if they are near the target.
