I've seen more than a few people crying for Ice Tankers to have their own place to give feedback. And since we've already planned to change Unyielding some, a few think we're ignoring Ice in favor of Invulnerabilty. So I wanted to start this thread.
Here's a couple of changes coming that I think will help:
Reduced Accuracy of Minion level Turrets from 75% to 58%.
Reduced Accuracy of Lieutenant level Turrets from 94% to 65%.
Reduced Accuracy of Boss level Turrets from 113% to 75%.
Reduced Accuracy of Snipers from 75% to 65%.
Reduced Accuracy of Archvillains from 90% to 75%.
Reduced Accuracy of Giant Monsters from 90% to 75%.
Reduced Accuracy of Monument Minions from 75% to 58%.
Reduced Accuracy of Rularuu Bosses from 90% to 75%.
BIG thanks to Circeus, for his tireless devotion to all that is Ice Tankerish. Hip hip hooray!
PLEASE keep the discussion limited to Ice Tankers. Anything else will be removed.

Welcome to City of Stormtroopers...
Sorry, but I don't understand this change, there are better solutions for Ice Tankers. They will still be sub-par. Add some Res to them, but this solution will affect everyone. -

More clarification: Zeb had nothing to do with the Planescape PC game. He created the original setting for D&D (the pen and paper version, that is).

Greyhawk?
I was never much of a fan of greyhawk. Now the Iseries modules with Laura and Tracey Hickman's desert of desolation set and the ravenloft modules etc was the best.
My first module as a kid was I2 Tomb of the Lizard King... still got it in storage somewhere hehe.

In the D&D cosmology there are Planes of existence (well, a sort of). Greyhawk, Faerun, Dragonlance, Dark Sun (sorry I don't remember the correct names, just the name given by TSR) are all Prime Material Planes and they are different settings of D&D. Planes are interconnected via Astral Plane. Planescape takes care of the connections between all the different planes adding a center of the universe, i.e. Sigil.
So many years have passed, maybe it's not 100% correct :P -

Many europeans play on USA serves, till now the only problem eurpeans got is the 20 minutes-1 hour downtime for restart (and not every day). Is this a community management problem ? Until today it was not a problem... I've always found wonderful GMs and a quick response to my problems and these are more important community management problems.

Ask a non-English speaking European who'd like to play CoH if they should play on European servers or American servers.
Hmm, let's think. If they have customer support issues... who do they talk to? An American GM based in NCsoft's US offices? Or a European GM based here?
While of course NCsoft could hire multilingual GMs for the US, why even bother? It'd be easier to recruit people in Europe. Don't get me started on the difference in timezones. (BTW, wouldn't you like it that the game didn't go down about 2pm every day? Sure, it marks the end of my lunch-hour but I'd prefer to play on European servers that don't go down when I might want to play...)
There are bigger issues here than you or I are aware of - and I'm willing to bet that example (of customer support languages) is just the tip of the iceberg.
BTW, of course I read the whole thread; how would I have picked up on your insights if I hadn't?
This may be a major issue for you, but I daresay you (and everyone else here who's from Europe) will not make up the majority of potential European players. Not now... not ever. The vast majority of those players may never even care about playing on US servers.
You just happen to have a voice right now and a way to talk to NCsoft directly.
If I was you, I wouldn't squander that.

I have to agree with you this time. The community management is just the tip of the iceberg. However, GMs won't be speaking my language even in Europe and people will be playing with their friend even if they have to play in a server where they do not understand a thing.
I really don't agree with NCSoft policy, for many different reason (internet = freedom of choice, but this is a bigger concept ) and, as you said, I just explain my opinion. -

Try reading the second part of my post: why someone who'll buy the european version of CoH can't start playing with me ? Community management is simply a non issue.

Boy, I bet all the people working at NCsoft as part of their community team - CuppaJo, Aura, Tisirin and now this new guy - will be reeeeal happy to hear that community management is a 'non-issue'.
Oh, and as to why someone buying the European version can't play with you... how about this... because NCsoft said so??

Did you read the thread ? People who's going to buy European version of the game won't be able to play on USA server, and probably, viceversa. Do you think retailers are going to have both version ? Or just the european one ?
And, yes, I think this is a major issue. -

I live in Europe. I play CoH on a USA server. Why should I have to move to an Euro server ?

Try reading Bridger's first post again.

I read it, I know i can keep playing where I play now. Try reading the second part of my post: why someone who'll buy the european version of CoH can't start playing with me ? Community management is simply a non issue. -
I live in Europe. I play CoH on a USA server. Why should I have to move to an Euro server ? My SG is on Pinnacle, my friends and compatriots too. If someone else would like to join us they just can't do it. Why ? Community management ? Oh please, come on.
I blamed Blizzard for its policy of USA-only-server, I blame Cryptic even more. -
1) There will be any change about psichic and untyped damage ?
2) Any news about the "comic-book flavour" for Tankers ? Will we see it in Update 3 ?
3) Will we have more then 3 respec if there will be major changes in Primary/Secondary/Power Pools ? -
There are far more important issue about Tankers and Scrappers then waiting for a mob...
-
I read it twice, but i really do not like what's going on. No address for Untyped Damage, little change to Regeneration and no comic book flavour for Tanker at all. The only good part is about Stone and Ice Armor. If tanker have to be meatshield then let tanker be meatshield, not poor Scrapper.
-
Ok the Damage and the Provoke, but what about Scrapper defenses ?
