Can we have Shane when CoV is done?
CoV won't be 'done' any more than CoH is. It'll have Issues of it's own.
All of the general special effects ARE going to be worked back into CoH. It just takes time is all.
Never surrender! Never give up!

If I was an Evil Marketing Guy I would make the CoV expanshalone patch the original CoH client with the SFX from the moment you install it... then force you to buy it if you want the upgraded engine.

Yes, but when COV goes live will COV have its own issue updates? Or, will COH and COV share the same update?

They haven't said, but does it really matter? Sticking to the 4-issues-a-year plan, they wouldn't be more than a few weeks apart most likely anyways.
Shane Hensley created Deadlands, Weird Wars and Savage Worlds.
Zeb Cook worked on Planescape. Just wanted to clear that up.
Waaaait a second, Zeb worked on Planescape, the holy of holies?
Right. I know who -I'm- stalking today. *runs to the Fanboimobile*

Perhaps you could have Shane add more zombieness to Dark Astoria? I want to see a wall of walkin' dead rushing the gate.
Planescape Torment was one of the best RPG computer games ever. Great storyline and interesting, fun characters (loved that floating skull guy).

All true. Though it should be noted that he didn't work on the game, but the tabletop setting. that said, I <3 cannibal hobbits.

Hang on now I am confused.
In the CoV threads there was this post:

In fairness, I have to say I didn't do Planescape: Torment. I was a Black Isle at the time, but on another project. The guys who did Torment were down the hall and I have to say they did a great job with the setting.

So which is it then?
Sorry, here is the link.
Edited to add link.
The setting "Planescape" is a larger setting in which "Planescape: Torment" took place. He didn't work on the game itself, but did work on the setting.
Which is good enough for me!

PlaneScape: Torment = PC Game which uses the rules of PlanScape PnP
Aha!
I wasnt trying to be ornery promise. Was just confused. Thanks for the clearin up.

Planescape. AD&D setting.
Planescape: Torment. Computer game based on the AD&D setting.
AFAIK, Mr. Cook worked on the former, not the latter.
If he really loved me, he'd have brought Jeff Grubb (al-Qadim, Spelljammer) along with him, then my two favorite AD&D designers would be designing CoV content...

EEEVAH!!? HELL NO!
Fallout I and II are the BEST PC RPGS EEEVAH!! (Yeah I know Wastelands came out before it. Fallout I and II are still better )
Hell yeah, more old planescape lovers! Greatest 2nd ed setting [Dark sun a close 2nd for me] ever! Too bad they creamed most of the flavor for 3rd...
Seriously, that's where the real heroics get done... outnumbered, outgunned by most things, hostile environment and struggling to eeke out a living and/or make a difference through it all
Wonder if kenzer'll ever do a "Hack" version of it... that would be most divine...

Damn, damn, damn. There goes my fanboy cred.
I did mean Zeb though.
Either one I suppose.
And they arent doing special effects or programming, they are writing the stories and figuring out ways to tweak the missions to make them more like actual superhero adventures.
Which is what I want more of for CoH.

Definitely. It's one of the few games I've ever played through twice. It did an awesome job of taking a piece of the Planescape setting, and protraying it really, really well.
And on Planescape (the PnP setting as a whole), I always thought it was masterfully done. I mean, when you consider how many planes & powers are there, and have to be designed to fit together, as well as within the existing D&D mythos, it was an amazing job. I've still got all the Planescape stuff sitting on my shelf (sans Planes of Conflict, which is really hard to find ). I don't play D&D hardly ever, but I like to read through the Planescape stuff from time to time. It makes great source material, too!
I'm curious just how nasty the plot twists and interaction between CoH and CoV are going to get, once things are going smoothly and everything's starting to fall into place. It's going to be good times, I tell you now!
Hell yeah. torment left baldur's gate 1/2 in the dust for plot and interesting things...I rank it right up there with the Fallouts (minus 'tactics' of course) as one of my favs.
knowing its THAT Shane working on the CoV setting... well that definitely perks my interest...
Come to think of it, wouldn't the old Planescape [the second ed stuff, where there was flavor, and where psionics was something you didn't wanna try on a demon, as well as being something subtle but efficient, as opposed to just spellcasters with MP and slightly different names for their fireballs (but even more rainbows?) aw crap, I'm ranting] make an awesome setting for the whole "players+devs+NPC's as source for other players+NPC's woes and missions" style we might get to see in CoV to go in next?
I don't mean more 3rd ed featfests, I mean the setting, used properly, in a nice standalone game...
It would be a step-up on the costumes/enemy-designs level, and obviously wouldn't be quite the same system for powers, but...
*note: not a subliminal message meant for States and Shane and if he ever reads this Zeb cook*
Any chance we can get a Harrowed Epic AT?
After CoV ships, is there any possibility of Shane Hensley coming to either revamp or make new content for CoH? I'd love to have the guy who did Planescape coming up with ideas for CoH missions, enemies, etc. Particularly with everything the teamlearned from making CoV, Striga, and Forest.
