I just wanted to take a brief moment while I still can to thank each and every person who took the time to play any of my arcs. Also a special thanks to everyone that took the time to send me feedback, your comments were greatly encouraging and appreciated. Last to the many reviewers and friends that played my arcs, sometimes more than once, to help me improve and refine them. I can't thank you enough for your help and patience.
Here is hoping we meet again.

If you have been putting off stopping by for a last spin with the AE Storyteam, today is your last chance! Noon EST, RWZ on Triumph.
WN -
Sorry I missed it this week....next week!
WN -
Only myself and Lord of Storms showed up this week, but it was very short notice. I've updated the MA Arc Finder channel so that it has the following info:
MA Super Team - Sundays Noon EST at the RWZ on Triumph every week till shutdown which is only four more weeks. I hope MA Super Team members can make it because it will be our last chance to play our favorites with a great group of people. See you all there!
WN -
I will definitely try to make these whenever you set them up.

Well, it was good thinking banking a bunch of DCs so we didn't have "too many. " No way we could have handled more than a few a year, it would have been anarchy! Seriously, see how silly that seems now. What a wasted chance to generate interest in MA. Water under the bridge, but it does suck that they were so ridiculously stingy with handing them out.

Quote:Yeah, hear what you are saying. It was MA that pulled me back into CoH just when I was finally getting bored, but it certainly had it's downs. To be honest, MA was ultimately what led me to cancel all three of my accounts (after all of my arcs and several others authors arcs were ratings greiefed to oblivion and no action was taken to right it). Still, the people I met and the fun times we had made up for most of it.I just...I don't know.
Been thinking lately. While there were good times and had fun with it, there was a fair bit of frustration. A number of times I felt like I was wasting time (and money) and I knew I wound up taking a few things personally. Still, I'm grateful for all the people who labored to improve the system.

Now that I can finally chime in (used got VIP back today) I wanted to heartily agree with everything people have said in this thread. I was ready to retire from CoH when MA was announced and kept me from doing so for a very long time. While at first it was the fun of creating arcs and having them played, it quickly became the MA community. The MA Arc Finder channel and MA Super Team brought me more pleasure and friends than I ever could have imagined. I won't list all the people again as everyone already has and you guys know who you all are.

7.5 years of paid subscription and multi-accounts for many of those years and I'm stuck with:
Limited Forum access
No access to SGs
No access to my characters on Exhalted
Paragon Points that are worthless
Because I happen to be on the first break I've taken from the game when this happens. Another kick in the teeth from NCSoft. I will never purchase a product of theirs again.
WN -
As a player of CoH since May of 2004, having a 7.5 year uninterrupted subscription and having had as many as four, yes four active accounts over the years, I love to be able to access the full game and the forums. I'd even be willing to pay to do so, but there is no apparent way to do this. Can something be done to at the very least unlock the forums so long time players can say goodbyes and exchange contact info?

Thanks very much for playing the arc and for the awesome review!
Quote:I seem to remember there was some issue with getting them to come up in a set order in the list because of the random factor of how they generate each time, but I will check it out again because it has been a long time since I looked at them.Review as part of the CoHMR Aggregator project.
The clues themselves could stand some proper ordering, so the one you get on mission clear actually pops up at the end of the list, but otherwise there's a nice puzzle here.
Quote:The descriptions on the destroy objectives mention this, but here's me: destructibles in Mission Architect don't become valid targets until their guards are engaged. I don't know why that is exactly - maybe a genuine engine limitation, maybe a holdover from the time when destructibles actually gave out XP.
Again, thanks for the review and play...happy you enjoyed the arc!

The three not played that also were winners in 2011 were:
The Golden Age Secret of the Paragon Society Arc ID 344596 by @Wrong Number
Small Fears Arc ID 12285 by @Wall of Knight
Save the Diver, Save the World Arc ID 183832 by @Ankylosaur
Just in case anyone is interested in being a completest.

Apparently after over 350 plays the arc has suddenly become "too hard for a group of level 13's to play" because "at that level they only have a few powers". That, or people don't realize the arc is made of 90% dev created characters and they don't know how to play their characters yet. In any case, the end result is the same, down rates and back to the 4 star sewers for the arc.
WN
P.S. - In case you are wondering, I did check to make sure nothing was altered in the arc via stealth break and it was working as intended. -
-
Despite the odds and apparently not being a very worthy arc, The Golden Age Secret of the Paragon Society has somehow reached 400 plays while still maintaining a 5 star rating. Thanks to the people that have played and enjoyed the arc.

Thanks to all that played the arc. I'm honestly shocked this arc was on the list and cringe at the thought of the devs playing it. The arc was created for my then teenage sons and husband (a perpetual teenager) after I made a few jokes when we were teamed and landed a newspaper mission with Manhandle as the villain. It's definitely a love it or hate it arc. In any case thanks for playing it and I hope it was taken in the silly spirit it was created in.

Thanks for the awesome review, I love the perspective it is written from and that you enjoyed so much. Wrong Number and in fact all of the "main" IL baddies origins were all rewritten to better reflect the story. Almost all of the TV shows in the return text are new and most feature cameos from community authors. . It's clear the 20+ hours I put into reworking this arc has paid off.

For this month I will submit an arc originally by my husband and then updated by me:
Old Dog, New Trick- #402429
WN -
Quote:Arc #457506, "A Very Special Episode"
tl;dr: 5 stars. Nits: mobs maybe a little overpowered
Reviewed on: 11/12/2011
Level Range: 30-54
Morality: Heroic
Factions: Nemesis, Crey, Freakshow, Family, Custom
Architect's Keywords: Origin Story, Comedy, Drama
Character used: Amelia Escobar/Virtue
Difficulty: +0x2+B-AV
N.B. this is technically a re-review; this arc was originally published as "Have a Blap, Blap, Blapy Day!" and redesigned.
Blappy, the beloved superhero kids's show host, has gone missing! You must find her! Television says so! But then, you shouldn't believe everything you see on Television....
Techincally the contact isn't Television itself but "An Abandoned Television" in Paragon City, but the dialog faithfully duplicates the canon contact's voice. There's a good story in here about the nature of celebrity and a Behind the Music-esque fall from grace. The humor is low-key but very effective.
The worst thing I can say about the arc is some of the customs have irritating powers. Foot Stomp on a Minion is a bit much, as is Ignite on some of the LTs. There's a mob in the first act with a dubious background but it's easily rationalized with a bit of Fridge Brilliance.
Top marks for this one; recommended.
Thanks very much for the review, it made my day! When creating customs I try to make them as non-annoying and level appropriate as possible while making sure the exp is in the 90%-100% range. Sometimes the choices are limited, but it is worth another look to see if I can come up with a better set for those that meets my criteria. Again, thanks!

After the update downloaded and I tried to start the game I got a message that my graphics driver may be out of date and therefore the game may not perform well. The driver is up to date, but the error said it was from 1970. That would be a neat trick. Anyways, the game tried to launch, but just locked up. I have a Geoforce GTS 450 with 285.56 driver version which is the current driver.
Edit - After having to reboot, the game will now start though it looks like all the graphics setting are rest. Also, there is an error at the login screen claiming my graphics driver is from May of 1970.
