    Unique build?

    [ QUOTE ]
I have a sonic/electric and an arrow/fire. (My namesake is the arrow/fire) Have seen a few arrow/fire but no other sonic/electrics as of yet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I actually have a sonic/elec in the 30's thats been collecting dust for about a year. But then again, all my blasters are /elec, including my 3 50's. Sad, but true.

    Unique build?

I'm not sure how unique some of these choices are. I played my ice/elec to 50 about 2 years ago, and right after I dinged, I seemed to find a decent amount of them sitting around. There also used to be a few players who ran ice/dev for pvp purpposes. Ice/Fire or Fire/Ice seems to be very popular in the lower levels, but not something you see too often in the latter stages of the game. For who ever mentioned AR/anything-but Dev, I'd argue that I''ve seen a decent amount of AR/energy blasters around, even at 50.

Sonic/Dev is a pretty good choice, same with Psi/Fire.
  3. Arc Name: Ed's Amry: Uncle Ed Wants You!
    ID#: 41672
Length: 4 missions + reading, takes a little over an hour solo
    Difficulty: Challenging, but not extreme
Groups Encountered: 5th Column, CoT, custom enemies, and custom allies
Description: General Ed, founder of Ed's Army, needs your help. Journey with him, and his subordinates, as you uncover the mystery behind the disappearing officers, and the plot behind it all. Contains 5 EB's and an AV at higher levels, 2 EB's at the lowest.

note: this has been posted in both the Infinity and Freedom. The reasoning is to advertise to both the home of the old Ed's Army sg, and my new server. Sorry if this offends.
  4. Thanks for setting up this thread.

Arc Name: Ed's Army: Uncle Ed Wants You!

    Your global/forum name: @Aeoleon
Difficulty Level: Challenging at higher difficulties, with out being arduous

Any, and (almost) all feedback is welcome!
  5. I tried deleting a critter from my main group, but it says that its part of my base group, and won't allow it. Then I tried moving it over to a second group, but all it did was copy the critter from one to the next, so now I have 2 versions of the same critter. I also went to my program files list of critters and deleted it, restarted the game, but I still have the same problem.

What am I doing wrong, and how do I fix it?
  6. I waited for that one half the day yesterday. Thanks for the much needed laugh!
  7. Just hit #6 today

    Citizen Psy
    Sonic/Psi/Elec Defender
  8. Radiant Green ill/rad

Just hit today on a carnie mish.
  9. So, is it wrong to necro your own guide? Well damn it, I say its not! This was written before IO's and defiance 2.0, so if you aren't familiar with these concepts, check them out and apply them accordingly. Either way, happy con-blapping!
  10. Just for the sake of accuracy, has anyone mentioned yet that the BM farm also requies clicking a single glowie to complete?

Wanted to say THANKS for the guide! I've been out for a while, but this guide allowed me to jump right back into I13.

Same story here, and I coiouldn't appreciate it more!
  12. fantastic addition, wtg guys. I love the direction this game is headed.
  13. I guess this is a good indicator of how much time and energy you guys are pouring into I-12.

    LESSON LEARNED:

    Busy Devs = Lame Pranks

    Keep up the good work

The win on this issue is getting kinda silly!

  15. Thank you Paul Harvey. I'm sure there's a family in North Dekota that nukes up some velveda to go along with thier chips and salsa because the latin grocery store didn't open up until the mid-'90, thus making chiwawa unatainable. It doesn't mean I want to eat there on "Taco Night" though.
  16. OK, not a bad issue by anymeans, but cottage cheese in lasagna? LTICTTI!

(leave the Italian cooking to the Italians!)
  17. I've read the first few of these before, but I have to say that the last installment has tilted this to my favorite CoH thread to date. At risk of falling victim of the signature above me, I couldn't possibly imagine a more eloquent summation of this game; how fitting that it's in the defender forums.
  18. easily one of the most inteligent and humorous guides I've ever read. great job
  19. great guide. the slotting may be a bit yester-year, but I bet the principals still hold up. I can't wait to finish the blast chain.
  20. I don't think you should be so quick to dismiss the idea of focusing on defense and blast away. Going FF/Son is a great way to set your opponents up for bucu damage, and a ff/dark def has enough aoe's to really make those bubbles work overtime if you focus on tohit debuffs on your slotting. Personally I'll take a lil extra damage and some nice debuffs anyday.

That being said, "the one and only", eh? Nice guide bud, might even earn ya a few friends.

"Hmmm. Well it would be nice to be able to heal yourself." Forget about it. The heal times are interruptible, so they are useless in battle; and I'm sorry, but are you just too lazy to hit rest between mobs if you really have to heal yourself that bad? How about finding a teammate w/. a heal, or simply popping a few greens. Sorry, this ones a no go.

An arguement on this one between me and a friend well out lived the day I wrote this, although my opinion has not changed. I eventually burned a freespec to check it out as I started participating in PvP and Hammi Raids much more often; two areas of the game that my conventional wisdom had not yet adjusted to. This pool does came in handy at the raids, and I'm sure that I will miss it to a small extent when its gone. However, for PvP I found that there's alot of DoT out there, and my oppertunities were limited to use it.

On my friends side, they were eventually able to point out to me that it can be used in conjunction with Personal Forcefield, something I no longer had at the time.

Ok, I've spent a lot more time in the game now, and have learned that if you are a PvP oriented blaster, you simply have to take your self heal; even if it does waste another power. Having a triple slotted SJ along w/ some more in hurdles will usually allow you enough distance to be able to stop for a moment, heal yourself up, then turn the tide on your attacker. Working this stategy in Siren's Call, along with slotting both aim and build up for tohit buffs, went a long way towards a mich higher rep.

I promise, an update to this and my ice/elec guides are coming as soon as finals are over.
  22. Nice overview. While it's not intended to be a complete guide to team roles, I'd like to make 1 small addition: ice/ blasters actually make the best hitmen with 2 holds and the highest dps attack chain that I'm aware of. With skills like that, you have little else to do than take out bosses.

Also, il/ trollers make for great meatshields in a pinch.
