  1. Earth/storm is one of the combos that your teammates can go, "Hey wait a minute. We get to play stupid," and they do and yet you can take care of pretty much whatever they bring in. I have literally had a team fighting different mobs at 3 different spots on the map.

    Oddly enough I got bored of leading PuGs because they got too easy to build them to steamroll even on Freedumb. I started to mix stuff up and we would still steamroll. I think it says a lot about the age of the game when then player base seems to know enough now compared to earlier in the game. Yes, the random idiot is still there, but for the vast majority of the time PuGs are rather easy.

    The mission is more than doable with a halfway decently built team. Most of the mobs come from the right side. There is a stone on the right side where they tend to filter through. Get some people to form a wall with it and suddenly they tend to bunch up there. I've done the mission a number of times and tactics has always won out versus a powerset, or power.

    One explanation that probably still doesn't explain it is the person could move in and Transfusion is used. By the time the animation for the heals kick in the blaster could have moved far away.
  6. I could team with maybe one Sonic in a month on Freedom no less when I was actively teaming a lot. It's early graphic issues all, but killed the set as a choice to be played.

    Which really is basic slotting. I wouldn't slot end mods in anything outside of SC and Transference. I would say you could solo at a decent pace for a defender with a Kin/elec. The plus side is your attack damage will be higher than normal, but on the downside you have to work at it a lot more so you don't get to do direct damage as often. Fulcrum, Siphon Speed, Siphon Power, and both Trans powers are great, but none of them do any direct damage and you are clicking on them a lot.

I haven't played a Ice/kin high enough to know how it works with taking AA and skipping Stamina, but AA has a high enough cost that I would at least get Stamina and then after you hit 35 find out how much you'll need Stamina. It's probably fairly doable to go without Stamina if you add in enough IOs to help out with end issues.

    Or if you want to stick to /elec anyway, pick up Sparky since he acts like a 3rd attack. I prefer soloing on unyielding for a number of reasons, but /elec being a little more AoE based helps in that difficulty setting versus invinc.

    Note. I have soloed high level CoT on unyielding and "soloed" an even level Snaptooth(blaster friend nuked for comedic value right off the bat and died) and both were done at a reasonable pace all things considered, ie defender damage and /elec damage, all the while without Sparky. I solo a lot when I play, but I don't solo defenders much at all. For Kin/elec, I just like running into the middle of a mass right next to the tank/other melee and doing my job.

    Jock on his Rad/sonic soloed GMs, but I know he did it with Shivans. His recharge was good enough to get two Shivans out at the same time, and that was back in i9, IIRC. I can't recall if he did it without the Shivans. He did solo AVs straight up without pets, but said it was so annoying he prefers to never do it again. Jock played the build so much I'm rather positive he put a ton of influ into the build.

    Hobo "soloed" Infernal on his Emp. Anybody who saw the video knows how much of the soloing Hobo's guy did. Even Hobo admitted the pets basically killed Infernal.
  11. /elec's issue is it's given lesser damage because of it's control, but the control is only so good because it's in a blast set.

    Nope. Again, QR and /wp being a smoother ride makes it easier, but it's by no means a needless headache and it has just as good, if not better end game potential if you are willing to invest in it.

    If you are looking for stuff outside of MA, then yes, this will be vastly a dud issue for you. One of the devs even said that once players see what is there beyond MA they will be disappointed since anything else added is basically back end stuff for i15. Remember, MA was suppose to be in i13, but pulled to add in more stuff to it, so really i14 is more like i13b. You want the other stuff? That's what i13 was. A ray of hope from this is i15 should be coming Soon(tm).
  17. I just want to know who kidnapped NCSoft's marketing team and got one that was willing to make a decent video and had to involve spending at least a little money to do it. If 30 seconds spots of this with the phrase about touching his awesome button aren't on Heroes, or even just the Heroes web site for their video replay of the show, then it's a huge missed opportunity.

    If the run AI was only when they got low on health then that would be one thing, but it's not. They can take a sliver amount of health and then run. Many times including running past a number of mobs which you do not want to have follow on. If you are facing something that has a number of hit points, ie an EB, then this can be far more annoying than challenging. I have had to drop down the diff setting to the initial setting solely because the run AI had my target taking a single hit in the hallway I was at and then instantly running back into the main room that had numerous mobs in it. I attack, they run, I wait. I attack, they run, I wait. I attack, they run, I wait. Trust me, this is far more than just "Let's make them run in a realistic way."

  20. FYI, the following build doesn't include anything outside of common IOs. If there is 3 of the same type, ie damage, then they are level 30. If it has anything less, then it's level 50. You could probably go to level 35 with the level 30s, but that's up to you.

    When I get around to a respec, I'll toss Snow Storm for something else most likely Stone Prison to help keep AVs in place. Assume Hasten takes it's place where I would put it. Hurricane was skipped due to the mass amounts of control this build currently has and using it is just way too distracting. It's almost like when you use it you have to stop everything else and just focus on it. Some other slots can be tweaked for sure and certainly when you factor in IOs. Towards the end I was literally tossing around slots knowing the difference would be minor. Stamina comes at 22 because if you sit back and rotate the controls you use very little end. Late game is much different as you can really burn through end much quicker.

  21. Just adding in my support that rent is more annoying than it's worth.

    Case 1: I have a big SG. I now have to pay under 2K per period for rent. Earning that amount of prestige in a play session for a single character is a joke and yet I need to haul somebody over to Atlas to pay it.

    Case 2: I run a small SG on a free plot. My rent just went up. If I happen to run a one man type SG on one server and go away for 3 months for whatever reason(leave game, stop playing on server), I'm now paying rent when before I didn't need to. I just could go and use my base.

    In short, the cost of rent is so low that the cost isn't a hindrance anymore. The hindrance is now having to deal with that little rent reminder at all.

    So really, why is there rent at all? If you are playing, 1900 is a joke to cover. If you aren't, then it's more of an annoyance to deal with than anything.
