  1. I like how you solved the scales problem without making it look cluttered.

Good job DB. It reminds me of one of my favorite prints, by Micheal Parkes. Gargoyles

Just the feeling of it and whimsy. It brought it to mind.
  2. It is a nice piece. Please, don't stop. They are well done and look good. If you want a solid audience you have come to the right place. Any and all would love to see more, and would enjoy anything you wanted to do.

And beware TA, he will hunt you down and hound you with requests until you cave and do a picture of Thor's Assassin.
  3. Critique wise, about all I ca nrealy say, is that sometimes you elements are out of alignment.

Examples, Dark lilly's face. Her right eye is a litle too far to one side, cinsidering where her nose, left eye and mouth.

On Skyraker, his hands a re a little to far to his left . I assume he is punching his palm. His chest seems a little too large for him to be able to have his arm in the position it is in.

Like I said, it is just little details. Your ability far outstrips mine, and heaven knows I misss the little details in what I am doing all the time. Just keep practicing. Drawing is the way to do it, and experiment.
  4. It's looking good. I'm glad you went with the pose you did.

And thanks for showing us the WIP. It is fun to watch them go from quick sketch/ideas, to finished product.
  5. Woohoo!

    I'm Next.

*does the 'Happy, I'm Next" dance*

It all looks good by the way. I was lucky to look in when I did.

PM me if you have any questions Celsia.
  6. I'll toss Jericho in. Pete and Sol would be asking too much.

Jericho Stone Dark/SR scrapper. Wears leather vests he takes off Warriors or Hellions or Outcasts. Ignore the emblem on his vest. He's a big 16 year old, with a third eye in his forehead. He sees about 3-5 seconds into the future around him, so he knows when to dodge attacks.
  7. xen10k

    Inking practice!

Already told you what I thought, but again, it looks real good.
  8. xen10k

    Inking practice!

    wow. just wow.

hot too. but not just hot. more than hot.

(turns a slight shade of green with jealousy)

Well, I have to admit, Rowr is lot more fun to look at than any of my characters.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
    LMAO Lovely!

That's why I wear shorts and not a skirt :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

When Rowr bothers to wear anything that is.

I want to limit one per "customer" for now, so no one feels left out

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey guys SweetThang is asking to keep it to one character per request.

Maybe you could hold off a little bit for the second, third, fourth and fifth additional ones?

Just to show respect to the artist and your fellow posters!

    whatcha guys think?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeps. that is why I always give the artist the option of what they would lke to draw, either Jericho or the couple. Pete and Solara are always together. (one without the other would just feel wrong.)
  11. Man, you leave for a little while ot get soem work done, an this happens.

(jumps onto the end of the line)

yes, please, if you would. Either Jericho Stone or Peterbilt and Solara (wife and my characters) (actually the same page, but lower down. )

Jericho is a dark/sr scrapper, Pet is an Nrg/inv tank and Sol is a fire/fire tank
  12. Jericho in action or Peterbilt and Solara as a couple shots.

    Screen shots gallery

    have fun and good luck

So, are the psi-cops going to include an AV/Hero named Kinnison?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please. And one named Bester would be great too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Bah, beat me to it.
  14. Gotta love the Hill Street Blues references, including Chief Conrad Bochco.

(Any chance we can get a ratty looking detective named Beltzer calling gang member hairbags?)

xenophon10k, I came back to read your post, and it has me blown away, in its literary nature and context... You're right, that is reality. You and I may never develop the soul that the musical greats (or any other extraodinarily talented individuals) possess to make them famous, BUT that shouldn't take away from our drive to learn something new and take what we can from that experience.

I am so with you when you say that naturally everyone has (or should have) "kernels" which can be awaken early on, or late life...and I'm always amazed to be able to witness someone unbury and produce fruit out of those kernels. Then again, there are others who aren't naturally gifted, and it can take these individuals' their entire lives to get to the point where Mr. or Ms. Genius reached at age 4. My point is that if one seeks to learn something, gives it everything he or she can, and sees consistent growth from beginning to end, wouldn't that still be significant in the least bit? On a personal scale, that would be quite the accomplishment . Not to refute your point, really xenophon10k; I loved reading your post.

If you have talent, then great! If you don't possess the natural ability you see in others, then also great! It's not a measure of your value as a person, but it is a measure of how much room you have for growth and if you put your mind to it...potential.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely, and I should have said it in my post, Reiko. While some may not have that kernal for piano it should not in any way lessen the desire for it, nor their efforts in trying to achieve. Even the work used in trying is not wasted, for it teaches dedication, and can be used and applied in other facets of life.

The drive to achieve is part of what makes us human as well. Giving up (EDIT and taking nothing away from the effort (/edit) is the sad part, not lack of achievement or ability.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
But yeah. It's kind of a backwards compliment when someone says "That's awesome! You suck! <sarcasm>" So I dunno. no one has given me one of those YET so I can't say how it feels.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You have Talent, I hate you.

There, is that better? No , I do not hate Rowr, nor do I hate any person who has artistic talent developed to the point that they can draw more than stick figures well.

To put it another way. While, yes, if I were to draw a great deal, I could gain some degree of ability, but I will not be able to bring out the emotion, or the life that others can. Like a maestro, who can play a piano and bring out the meaning and can convey the feeling and intent of the composer, or let you feel the same from their interpretation, I cannot. Yes, I can play the notes, but the conveyance of feeling is not there, such as it is when others play. There is a cetain kernal in the midst of that talent, that is indefinable and unlearnable. It is a part of us. Not all have it. None can learn it. It is there, lying in us, waiting to be awaken when we put pen to paper, or finger to key, or even hand to wrench ( what? some of what mechanics do is an art unto it self), or mind to problem. Not everyone has a natural inborn talent to make life out of some art, but that is life. Those that can, we admire, watch, and enjoy their creations even while we may be jealous of thier ability. I believe it is a natural part of humanity.

I always thought of it , when someone says soemthing like that, it was meant as a compliment. I do not think they hate me, but rather are trying to express their jealousy, and a desire to have that talent. I would not say it personally, but I would not take it seriously when another says it, unless they were in person, and I could truely judge their intent.

And the best way to get people online to do something is to tell them to stop it.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Okay since there is so much giving coming from the community I feel like I should be doing something. Tell me what that is someone! lol

Awesome work by everyone and I love the collaboration between the artists

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pay for a commision for one of my characters? (JUST KIDDING!)

CB did a great one for me, and a comic cover as well. ( check his site for the latest.)
  18. Just Really cool all around. Both the art and generosity.

Congrats Gill. Even after 2 1/2 times that it still is amazing to me my wife agreed to marry me. ( 15 years at the end of april for me)
  19. [ QUOTE ]
This is isn't true either. My TA provides more debuffs, on average than my Rad. My TA provides more debuffs, on average, than other Rads I've teamed with. We kill stuff faster than FF, we have more utility than Sonic, we offer far more debuffing than Kinetics with a few exceptions, and the set is less potentially detrimental than Storm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nice straw man. All Defenders kill stuff faster than FF. All defenders have more defence than kenetics, and all are potentially less disrupting than storm. Now, if you could say all that about only one set, it would be impressive, but you cannot. You can say it about most all of them.

While having more utility than sonic is true, again, it is not hard to do, and only one set could be argued to have less than sonic (FF).

As a side note, and has been touched on in earlier posts. The activation time on these powers is way too long. Many times I have fired off an arrow, only to have the target move while I am waiting for it to fire, and lose most of the benefit, hitting only one target instead of at least 4-5.
  20. My wife played for 2 weeks with me during the free give away. She enjoys playing online with me, but does not want to interact with anyone. As long as she does not have to talk to anyone, she is ok. She played a fire tank, so I played an invuln so I could take the beating and keep her alive easier.
  21. I have a couple, but the two I am most interested in are my stone/stone concept brute, and my Ss/inv brute Kenworth, the arch enemy of my Inv/ss tank Peterbilt
  22. He just wants all the critics to have time to rest up from their last critique of his article.

not bad, made a stupid mistake.
  24. Bumping this guide up, for all those who might be wanting to get the new badge. This is how you do it.

    Go.
    Hunt.
    Kill Skuls.

the badge is the most important achievement I have done. (sigh) Now it is all downhill from here.
