Ditto. I have yet to see a Purple in the wild. Granted, I don't farm, but still...

Stealth or Invisibility makes a tanker unable to get or hold aggro.

Playing the game is less of a risk than surfing to random websites to read panicky articles about why playing the game might be a risk. Use a firewall, keep your antivirus up to date, practice safe computing and your son won't have any problems.
-
Controlling lets you set the tempo, so you might try that. A shield-type buff secondary (force fields, sonic, or thermal) will allow lots of buffing downtime on a team. You'll be able to solo slowly but comfortably while still making contributions to any team you find yourself on.

If the OP wants to spend more money than he earns, he should go into government.

"Deflected" is just the game's way of telling you that the enemy's defense was what caused the miss. Slot for accuracy and you'll beat their defense more and see "Deflected" less.

My mistake; I was assuming that your suggestion of "origin power pools" meant "power pools that are limited to a particular origin". For example, if they rolled out an origin-INSPIRED witch's broom flight power (or even a flypose), that would be cool. But limiting the use of that power/emote to Magic characters only would be uncool.
-
Story-wise? Sure. More origin-centric missions and arcs would be (and are) a welcome addition (check out the MA for player-created origin-centric content). Other than that, I'm against it. Virtually any ability that you can come up with could be explained in different ways for each origin. To simplify the argument, would you be in favor of the devs declaring that only Mutants can be Fire Blasters, for example?
-
How would constraining power X or costume piece Y or emote Z to a particular origin add more to a character? Other than adding the requirement that anyone who wanted to use them conform to the officially sanctioned origin?
No thanks - let players choose. -
I love to help new players and go out of my way to do so. Unless they're level 50.

Meaning it's not available as a veteran power pick? Bug it - seems like there's been some mix-ups recently in regard to Vet badges and powers.

Set your "looking for team" flag to... "Looking for any."

I wonder what percentage of the playerbase uses the LFT flags. I'd guess it's pretty low...the approved alternate method seems to ask for a team in broadcast every 30 seconds. -
I've considered Option 1, but if he has a real name he hasn't old it to me. Option 2 doesn't seem appropriate. I have several characters named under Option 3, and no one has ever "gotten" them, ever.
Still thinking, and thanks for the input! -
Cool. I'll check the thread, and leave this here for my defenderin' brethren to consider, also.
-
He's on Virtue, but doesn't need to stay there.
-
If they name the power Weird Hover-Swimming, I'm in favor.

I have a TA/A defender named Doombow who has languished since bows first became available, simply because I don't really care for the name. Concept-wise, the character is an Old World monster hunter (vampires, werewolves, etc.), a Bosnian who has recently relocated to Paragon.
I'd love to be able to get into playing the character and unlocking teh awesomesauce that is Trick Arrow. I've played him to level 10 or 15, deleted him, and then rerolled several times, all for lack of the perfect name. Any ideas? -
How do you fit? Do you have 36 slots on Liberty, or fewer than 36 characters?
-
We don't, CAN'T, believe you due to your high post count. Therefore, you must AGREE with Dispari on this one! I KNEW it!!!

Everyone knows you can post Suggestions in the Player Questions thread as long as you phrase it in the form of a question:
"What does everyone think of this suggestion?" -
Be patient and wait until your post count is high enough for people to attack you for it.
-
I only have 12 characters on Triumph, so I didn't mention it.

Should newbies PL? By definition newbies don't know the game, the zones, the enemies, the back stories, the ATs, the powersets, or the powers. If they catapult past all the content, how are they supposed to learn? Even experienced players from other games need to spend some time learning how we do things here...ten thousand hours in World of Walking doesn't tell you what a Malta Sapper is or how to handle it, or why you get so exhausted listening to Carnie death-shrieks at close range, or why Practiced Brawler isn't "a waste of end" on your SR scrapper. I'll happily answer questions for low-level characters who ask, but when a level 50 says "wuts stamina" or "where's the tailor", I've got nothin'.
One more thing: imagine that you hear about a new online game. Your friends are playing it, they say it's fun, it looks cool, so you sign up. Your brand-new Level 1 gets on a PL farm, and after a few hours or days of playing (or just standing in) one mission, you've "won" the game. If that was all there was, why would you stay? -

What if an elf (Magic creature whose powers are Natural to his species) was transported into the future, involved in an fight or accident, operated on and given cybernetic organs (Technology), then transported back in time, found by Crey Industries tested on with drug therapies and gene splicing (Science), then ultimately escaped and became a hero?

Well, then, obviously he'd be a mutant. -
If you want to hear that, just drop by the D on Virtue.
