    Maintenance...

Sheesh! Some people around here obviously haven't been around for any issue releases in the past.

Historically, Cryptic/NCSoft/Paragon have never told us that they are releasing an issue until after that issue is live. They just take down the servers and let us suffer. Only when the servers are actually functioning do they tell us what they've been doing.

Thus, we know this is an Issue release, because for "Emergency Patching", they tell as quickly as they can.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And this is the birthday Issue, so this is the birthday surprise

    [/ QUOTE ]

Considering the birthday was 2 months ago, quite a big surprise?
  2. Well, Arctic Man is a bit cool.

Bad puns aside, not sure really. Got too many characters to really decide.

I personally don't mind it being charged for. I'll buy it, and be happy where the money goes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I totally agree with this. If you love the game then there's no harm in pumping a few squid from each of us back into the development of the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True, but I think Avatea (think it was her anyway) said recently that the money from microtransactions and such goes to fund *all* NCSoft games, and not exclusivly to CoH.

Note from Avatea: I was hallucinating and high on chocolate...
  4. One of my favorites is "Even with the sniffles, (name) is still the bomb!" after the Vahzilok wasting disease story arc.

    It's back!

To try and stear this thread back to costume pieces: Did anyone else notice the long awaited "tights sleek" option for gloves and boots on Training Room?

And to stear it off track again and keep with the main theme of this thread, the word "pants" is used in the costume creator for the game.

And personally all the people that spell Arctic as "artic" bothers me more

And don't forget that pretty much the whole team will be focusing on GR right now - they were probably busy with it even while the MA was being developed, as the MA didn't need the full range of devs to get it up and running - like BAB and his animators, Castle and his power team, and War Witch wouldn't really be needed that much for creating the MA system, so they'd be free to work on GR.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I remember right, Castle had to do all the little scripts for the NPC powers in MA so that probably kept him busy.

I've also got an unseen costume option a few months ago: female muscle. Unfortunately, I was just able to apply it to two toons, and one of them lost the option next time I let her visit the tailor.
I have some screenshots in my blog: http://blog.players2go.com/2009/04/female-muscle/

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think that was just a texture problem/bug (it was pointing to the male arm texture or something). It only occured with those sleeves, and the forearm (covered by gloves in your pictures) didn't have it so it clashed a bit and made those sleeves not fit very well if you had bare hands or smaller gloves. Personally I'm glad they fixed it.

I think it's a shame that the BP only get a few boring one-offs and a very dull story arc (Wheel of Destruction).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Two story arcs. There's also Scroll of Tielekku.

Actually it says it will be Sept.4th in EU. this interview. Although to be honest I don't understand that.

[/ QUOTE ]US games release day is always a Tuesday compared to ours who prefer a Friday release.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Didn't I just say that?

Different release dates for US and EU is nothing new. Back in 2004 I was waiting for another gamer (different genre and not online) and it was released on November 2 in the US, and November 5 in Europe. Seems games are often released on Tuesday in US (which November 2 2004 was and September 1 2009 is) and on Fridays in EU.

Though that game was also published by Atari, so maybe it's just them.

Protean and Reichsman would be nice!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Isn't Protean dead?

Looks that way in issue 9 of the CoH comic book (Top Cow run) anyway.

Testing arcs should be about sorting them out so that you, the author, know they work right. It's hard enough fighting through when they don't drop inspirations, making fights nastier than they should be. Addin in debt?

What they SHOULD do is add in testing tools, like invisibility or Unkillable mode, so that you can fight through to, y'know, Test the thing, maybe?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem with that is the badges you get in test mode for defeating enemies, clicking glowies, destroying items etc. Maybe if they made it so progress towards those didn't count if you chose god mode.

so...he had the gloves back then already?

    [/ QUOTE ]

His first outfit was different from the current one. Check issue 7 of the comic book (it has flashback scenes to when BAB worked with Manticore's father).
  14. I've wondered about this too. It's in the official calendar that BAB was born in 1960 too (and Blue Steel in 1964 if I remember right). The 1972 founding year for the Regulators is in lore in-game as well. Something just doesn't add up.

And in issue 7 of the CoH comic (Top Cow run) you can see that BAB is a lot older than Manticore.

And why is this in suggestions?

I was indeed using some of my Personal Time Off as they call it here before GhostRaptor's departure.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was actually right for once?

  16. I personally think that she's taking her last chance for vacation before she's the *only* moderator on the EU boards.

I think that I would too...

My guess is that the mission complete bonus is obviously the number of objectives on the map.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In my experience, the mission complete bonus is equal to the number of tickets you've gotten from defeating enemies. So if (for example) you've earned 174 tickets from combat during the mission, you get 174 more when it's completed.
  18. Well if the next boxed set (architect editon) is released in US stores on the 14th (next Tuesday) as I think it is, they didn't have much choice but to get Issue 14 out before easter so people that pick it up can use the content announced on the box.
  19. First order of business: Log in the correct characters so that they will get Super Leader status in my personal SGs.

Then I'll start working on earning tickets so I can unlock the content needed for my story arc(s) and get those published. Then I'll see.

I'm not seeing any posts about the fantastic 80s heyday story on the main page?

    Try Here

My one concern about this is how old is Ms Liberty?

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's not Ms Liberty, that's Miss Liberty, you know, the mother of Ms Liberty and the son of the biggest jerk on Earth.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mother of one hero *and* the son of another? That's quite some gender-bending there...
  21. I'm fairly used to April Fools Day pranks now, and it takes a lot to fool me...

Personally don't mind the day at all..
  22. Nice one

Any progress on the video from Atlas Park on Defiant?
  23. Aren't issues released on Tuesdays now? I12 and I13 were. If they stick to that, my bet is on March 31. Gives them maximum time to polish it, while still meeting the goal of releasing it in the first quarter.
