Ahh, the + should have given that away to me, and I don't think I've seen anyone take both. Since you've tried it, you don't have any issue with the snail pace of Hover. =T
[/ QUOTE ]
Hover actually moves at a decent clip now, especially once slotted.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, my point was the base speed is a tad on the slow side, but if that doesn't bother OP then no biggie. Slotting it for speed does dramatically improve it's velocity, but in a tight build even one slot for that can be tough to spare.
Kruunch obviously knew the answer to his question to begin with, he just wanted something to pass the boredom at work today. ;]

You may be surprised to see just how far it can be stretched.

"Fixed a bug where cones could hit significantly more enemies than intended."
I haven't kept on top of it so I don't know which cones this effects. p/n -

Actually I was thinking of combining CJ and Hover to stack their defense

I've been wondering if most Shield Tankers don't take Tough/Weave
[/ QUOTE ]
I took them on my sd/ss and it was a large improvement on it's ability to navigate alphas in particular. It makes for a very tight build, but the survivability is better and weave makes for another nice spot to slot lotg 7.5 rech, getting SC back up a little quicker. -
The stealth io that fits into CJ is a nice little addition and it's only going for 1mill a pop, and the mobility plus tiny added def (unless it's a place holder for a lotg set) is a handy addition to a build, though not necessary.
What matters most between the choices you offered is your preference of ground over air, for tanking in particular I've personally avoided Fly, though Supes has no issues with it. :]
Flight is more of a slot investment over leaping, and SD/ can be a pretty tight build especially if you pick up tough/weave & pyre. -
So this is what Guardian looks like. /pensively rubs chin/
-
I thought you had a dark tank black, maybe that was one of your 32 scrappers. =]
I have a build for a dark/mace I have on test, but dark/ss might be a better combo for you since AoE's are your thing.
got to run to join an itf, I'm sure you'll get plenty of feedback. :] -

A tanker built to handle Posi well would be both difficult and pointless to make.

Heh made me chuckle, well said. -

I'm only a six month vet and originally found the anti-farmer arguments to be convincing.
However, recent events and threads like this one have put me firmly in the camp of the farmers.
I just fail to see the harm in what they do (barring exploits like the Rikti comm officers, which I believe should've been fixed without any retroactive punishment, now).
More than anything else, the vehemence and vitriol displayed by certain "anti-farmers" have changed my mind.
[/ QUOTE ]
You clearly haven't been around long enough to understand how serious this issue is.
The anti-farmers are right, we all should play the game within their definition of what is and is not acceptable, even the majority of us who don't farm anything.
This is serious business, you'd do well getting with the [anti-farming] program. -
Go with shield/ss OP, I have one that just hit 50 a week ago and it's a lot of fun.
Great area damage, cool custom shield options, and two nice self damage buffers.
Have fun on whatever you choose. :] -
Invul is a pretty standard set for any TF/Trial. It has little trouble with the itf or stf in the later game, and everything before them is fairly easy.
Any primary can tank the various task forces, but invul all around is a safe choice if that's specifically what your aiming for and aren't interested in Stone. -
Awful, finally got to check out the changes just now and my Dom plays like an old mule on test.
If the changes are that important to you OP then I wouldn't blame someone for canceling a subscription, plenty of players have done so over various tanker nerfs through the years and never returned.
The current changes on test will get modified before live, but not by that much judging by Castle's history. The End drain and difficulty building domination is a very big change, which is more likely to get a suitable dial back in an post i15 patch, following some hard dataming and wider player feedback.
Que sera, sera, Psionic Dart is my Doms new staple attack. ;] -
Keep in mind as someone mentioned they load to test the first setup of a change set to the highest extreme, then dial it back before live depending on datamining/feedback. But PS will get changed, everyone knew it would.
I might test how the changes feel on my fire/psy, but personally I thought Doms were fine as is (was), I think the problem came, as it usually does, with lousy players. -

Lots of shield suggestions, how does shield do when it comes to holding aggro? would I need an AoE heavy set like fire to keep everyone on me?
[/ QUOTE ]
You get a taunt aura (I have 3 slotted w/ taunt) that's an instant aggro magnet.
Actually on an itf Fri the team commented on how well it was pulling aggro without having Taunt (couldn't fit it into it's build sadly). -
Shield/SS, I just got mine to 50 last night, and it really is a blast. The [potential] three aoe's, shield charge/footstomp & fireball are a great chain, and even a general IO build can stand up well if you just throw in tough/weave.
-
Have you tried the Melbourne at Outback, 20.oz of succulence.
-
Eh, if the feedback and testing I've done in every beta/closed beta except i14, isn't enough to earn a spot then que sera, sera, thank you for the past opportunities and test server filled with auto leveled 50s. O-\-<]:

Hey I'm pretty good on my trollers after a couple. And how did I miss this thread? win
edit, ah now I see what started the festivities, "A lot of us have noticed a lot of crappy players around lately, who PL all the way to 50 and can't play their toons."
That's a good opener. -
Have you tried the fire grilled quesadillas at Chili's, they're pretty good. The steak and portobello is still my favorite.

I'm concerned that NCSoft expects big subscription increases based on the expansion.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't imagine NCSoft expects massive sub increases for a five yr old game, due to one expansion, unless it's absolutely phenomenal.
This games one shot at grabbing a larger base was CoV, and even Jack Emmert is now candidly disappointed it barely made a blip on the radar.
GR is all about keeping the money ship afloat with the new guns entering it's waters. Past that, who knows what the future holds for the franchise.

My tank is like my truck, we have a car that's faster and better looking, but when I have some big project to do I want my truck because it's sturdy, reliable and takes what I throw at it.
Superman would be a tank if he played CoH, and who doesn't want to be Supes? ;]
