Quote:Except for the several hundred people who played it while it was on Beta for two months.A while back, the development team sent out "beta" invites to people to play the SSAs ahead of time and look for technical and text errors to avoid the arcs being embarrassing. I don't know how that turned out, because I was so pissed off at SSA3 at the time I didn't want anything to do with the SSAs (oh, how little has changed), but I assumed they'd gotten better at this since I didn't spot anything terribly wrong in SSAs 4 through 6. I'm guessing that proof-reading didn't extend over Dark Astoria, huh?
But, eh, the reason some of those mistakes are made is the reason why it's so easy to miss them when proofreading. -

You are right to be incredulous. The list of collective nouns for things which are real words in real dictionaries is rather short and dependent upon actual usage. It became something of a game to invent a collective noun for each grouping of animals or even inanimate objects rather than live with just the ones that organically came into being because of necessity.
But no one uses them in real life except to play the "name the esoteric collective noun" game. To do so is to decimate the English language. -
Quote:Mot was also mentioned in one of the scanner/paper missions. I forget which one, but I ran it relatively recently.
One of the exploration badges in original DA also mentioned Mot slumbering under Moth Cemetary. I do not know if this was the original badge text, however.Quote:I'm also wondering why Mot would be sleeping under a cemetery somewhere in Paragon City. That's kind of like if Quetzalcoatl was found snoozing under the Hagia Sophia.
Quote:Dark Astoria was originally known as Astoria.
Once an idyllic commercial center, much like Talos Island and Steel Canyon, this area thrived as people bustled about their daily lives. Even the presence of the pastoral Moth Cemetery did not detract from the beauty of this area. The Rikti Invasion came and went, and the people in this peaceful neighborhood were relatively untouched by the devastation.
However, while the Heroes of Paragon were busy rebuilding the city, the trickster god of the Banished Pantheon stumbled upon something... beneath the sod and graves of Moth Cemetery lay an ancient god, far older than those of the Pantheon, and far more powerful. Wishing to use this power to release him and his fellow gods, he ordered all of his followers to invade the area and seize control of it.
The city authorities and Heroes, already reduced in number and staggering from the Rikti onslaught, had no choice but to relinquish the area to the Pantheon and wall it off. Within the walls, the army of Husks and Shaman ravaged the zone, tore the ground apart and sacrificed every man, woman and child in their efforts to wake the god Mot. But all their efforts were in vain. To this day, Lughebu's soldiers search for a way to wake the sleeper, while the spirits of those who once lived there wander about, unable to sleep.
Quote:Deep beneath the cemetery ziggurat the presence of the slumbering god Mot can be most strongly felt. The Banished Pantheon have longed to awaken the sleeper and so congregate here in large numbers. Treading upon this unhallowed ground you get the definite feeling that something does not want you here, an evil presence that wishes you ill.
Now what I want to know is why there is a Hellmouth in Sunnydale? -
Four seconds is about right for no bosses and a Judgment power. One second if you have two layers of Tar Patch laid down ahead of time.

Quote:What struck me is that the mathematical models predict everything about it except its mass. And I'm like: Wait, what? The mass of a particle that fills in the gap of the next step toward a Theory of Everything could be arbitrary and totally unrelated to how it interacts with everything else?I could've sworn that I read on Yahoo news once that experiments regarding the matter-energy conversion in particle accelerators that indicated that there were a minimum of 5 different types of Higgs-boson particles.
Regardless, I do wonder how mass works at the subatomic scale, so I am eagerly awaiting the results. -
You know, perhaps it would be better if it was spelled and pronounced that way. Makes total sense. Now I'm compelled to track down the etymology of the original... oh... basically *out*-most.
Still makes sense to use utmost for distance and coin upmost for height. Otherwise, we'd be forced to use 'uppest'. -

She has a cos-play convention in Praetoria she's late for?
That never happened to me, but I only tested that mission with my main which is a male model. -
Quote:Yes you can.You can convert purpled ATOs?!? If true (while a pain) this will solve all my issues with this problem.
Spreadsheet o' Enhancements
I need to get that in my sig... -
Quote:That happens when you chose the "go ahead and kill them and see if I care" response.I beat the last Knives of Vengeance boss right after the "30 seconds to go" warning flashed, and I received the system message "You have handled the Knives of Vengeance." However, Sigil and Kadabra Kill still died. Is this supposed to happen? Are they going to die no matter what your character does or how successfully he/she does it?

It's a shame the new Adamastor event doesn't have a new badge to go with it. Just did one and no badge. I assume that if someone didn't already have the Adamastor kill badge (which I did) that this event would award it. Could someone verify that?

Huh, mine says "Gate Crasher" too.

In Beta, there was never a Dark Astoria 2 for there to be a pop up window which would have discovered this bug.
It is now a known issue and they are working on a quick fix to show up in a patch more sooner than later.
If anyone encounters this bug, jump or fly back up to bring up the zone selector again. -
I won't be scared until scientist develop some sort of large carnivorous carbon based life form that could live off of eating humans and actually ran faster than us!

Flying disc has a beginning and end point which the game engine can handle.
Big red ball would depend on the physics engine which is located in one's graphics card. The physics one sees on one computer is different from what one sees on another computer. If you run into some detritus from Propel and it goes flying off in some direction... other players see it going off in a different direction. That makes playing with a big red ball.... problematic.... unless you just wanted to play a game of catch with it. -
Taunt is now completely unnecessary in Keyes since it's so easy to 'prime' six terminals before AM shows up.
Taunt is a huge help, though not completely necessary for the UG with the Lichen Infested WarWalker and the Avatar.
As for the OP, which server? Because on Virtue, 95% of the iTrials are formed as PuGs without regard to AT. -
For some strange reason, temp powers are working in the belly of Mot. So, have a taunter pull the two Heroes away from DiaMotique and drop a ton of EB pets on her (Shivan, HVAS, Signature Summons). I was able to use Envenom on her, but Mark III analyzer showed we already stopped her regen without it. I could have even used Warburg missiles... but we didn't need it.
For the Spines, the run I led put first half of team 1 at North, second half at Central, first half of team 2 at East and second half at South. We brought all Spines to 10/100 first. Well, one team wasn't paying attention and blew right through 10 to zero. But it was real easy to finish off the others in time. -
Next time Sciroco whines about his curse, Justin's gonna slap him.

Note that Brotherly Love from the Drowning in Blood trial is bugged and not awarding. It made it to the GMOTD.
-
It showed up on the GMOTD as a known issue now.
-
GM showed up. Said he was escalating issue.
