Looking at the screen shots again, and there are some amazing costume items in some of the pictures. I really hope these are things they plan to filter to the players with haste.

Not sure how I feel about this.

Quote:I like Synapse's original chest design. You haven't really done much there except replace all of his unique costume pieces (the chest logo and arm bits) with stuff from the character creator. The updated headpiece is nice though.
I do however agree that all of the Blue side NPCs need an update. -
I had to make a character with becoming an incarnate in mind at the beginning. For some reason the majority of scrapper primaries just don't feel incarnateish to me.
-
My wife is a huge Smallville fan, I am not, she is also not American. I still hear her complain about the casting of this movie almost daily. She (my Indonesian wife) is none too happy that they didn't cast an American actor for this part. I could care less because of how good Bale has done with Batman.
To be fair, Brandon Ruth could have been a good Superman, if he had a half way decent script. -
The new Superman movie should be scrapped, and recast. Those are my thoughts.

Happy B-day Posi. 40? Did you get black balloons?

I have to admit it is a large part of what keeps me here too. Doing the same things while looking different is like doing it for the first time to me. In the end new powers are just a new way to kill things in a way that looks different. The aesthetics are the largest draw to this game for me.

I would add pool customization, so I could change the way hasten looks.

Quote:Is the build that bad??
What is the incarnate store amd where is it?
Nah, it is not that bad. I feel like slotting IOs in that manner for +def sacrifices some other things I am not willing to give up. It has been a long running issue to me, and one I have vented on multiple times. For a +def build it looks pretty good to me.
The incarnate store in in Obo on the beta server. You can get E and A merits at 1 inf each for testing purposes, and the Auction house was well stocked when last I looked. During peek hours you should have little trouble getting teams together to test incarnate content. -
We have several disconnects here. The first is I am against attempting to turn a resistance set into a def set. I am not alone in this.
Quote:You are mistaken, it is controversial, because not everyone here agrees with it, some even feel it is wrong. This point is uncontroversial.
You are still ignoring the end drain that increased recharge gives Power Sink, and the new soft cap for the incarnate content, and the def debuffs that all of the incarnate content contains.
There are plenty of threads here on the scrapper boards where you can find these same arguments. Each philosophy has its own champions too. -
Quote:Because more is always better for scrapper recharge...What material advantage does km/elec get from permahasten at this point? The optimal KM chain doesn't really take that much recharge, especially with spiritual. Lacking mids, is the point of those builds to take musculature instead? On an elec, I'd probably go with rebirth, so perma energize also seems a bit outmoded. This wouldn't be the first time I've missed the obvious point, but I still don't see why this combo needs that much recharge.
Now the serious answer. The greater the rech the more PS is up, because CS is up more, which allows for a greater chance for Crits from CS, and that allows for PS to be up more.
For elec, You DO still need energize up as often as possible, and even better Power Sink is up more often. Any secondary with clicks that add to survivability can use greater recharge.
Really, your post baffles me.
As for the build above, I suggest popping over to the beta where there is auto leveling right now. There you can build it and test it to see if you like it. You can purchase all of the IOs from the incarnate store, but you will need to transfer in the Hammi-Os. I can say for me, it is not a build I would use. -
I am not a fan of attempting to soft cap resistance sets. There is a lot that has to be sacrificed to do so imo, but you can shoot for it if you like. Neither of my builds are soft capped, and I only face plant if I am distracted.
My pylon time with the dps build is 2 min 11 seconds with Viki, and 4min 55 sec w/o. I tent to just round it up to 5 min though.
The scrapper challenge is a bit of a joke with this high end of a build, and incarnate powers. So I am not bothering to mention it. -
This one is build for higher dps, but maintains the perma hasten.

If you dig around, I have posted 2 or more in the past two weeks. Here is my old one, which is geared towards perma hasten, and end drain.

Quote:Yeah, I am only purchasing it for the aura.See, looking at this thread (and the one in the Screenshots and Fanart section) just highlights how male/huge characters get the short end of the stick with this pack.
The female options are so versatile.
The male/huge options are considerably more limited in scope. -
Quote:I agree with this. We need a single eye glow aura.I would rather see lots of spandex classic 80 superhero looks.
Lots of new patterns, new cool textures for spandex tight, tight with skin streamlined, lots of superheroic leather and spandex belts, boots and gloves.
Also new classic masks with textures and 80s style hairstyles.
Classic 80s superhero stuff.
I think the classic superhero costume pieces need an update badly.
I will say though, that is a great list. It is missing the "hold the boom box in the air" emote though. -
Quote:Rob was bigger in the early 90's if I recall. I don't want tooth pick ankles....For what it's worth, "The Eighties" had a pretty distinctive ("dark and gritty", supposedly) style in comic books, too, that had not-much to do with Hammer Pants or big hair.
...not that I'm any more in for a Rob Liefeld booster pack than a MC Hammer booster, but I do think the first is more likely than the second.
Frank Miller did have some really dark runs in Batman, and Dare Devil in the 80's though. -
I hang my head and weep.
Hey, add some stone washed jeans, or some parachute pants. I am not serious by the way. I really can't express my hatred for the majority of the decade.
Besides, that would also mean they are just plain ignoring the costume request thread. -
I remember the 80's there was very little good about it, and NOTHING worth making into a booster pack.
Forgotten how bad the 80's were? Watch Hot Tub Time Machine. -
They should really have contests to allow players to design the new NPCs....

Quote:I am at this point as well. I had high hopes when David started posting, those hopes have passed though.
I'm not comfortable with the 'in the future' replies from the art department any more. First, there's the issue of fixing things in the past that is being glossed over. There's a long list of gender disparate issues in the costume creator and not just in the Steampunk pack which should be rectified. Secondly, we were told that 'in the future' when new NPC factions are made, their costumes would be made such that they could be more easily ported to player characters. Noble Savage made a point that such will be the case with the IDF costumes. He even told us it was coming in Issue 19. Then he had to retract that and told us he was mistaken and it will be coming in the next issue (that would mean Issue 20).
Well it's just about Issue 20.5. Where's the IDF costume set? What happened to "in the future we will make NPC costumes available to PCs"?
That's why I wince when I hear the art department telling us that policies will change "in the future."
I really am not a fan of new costumes for NPCs that do not also go to PCs. What is even worse is that the PC version is not as good as the NPC versions. The GR PPD costume is a prime example.
I love the incarnate stuff, unlike some. I do love new costumes even more though.
I will take this thread even a step further. It is not just about male and female parts, but how mutually exclusive parts within the models themselves are. Why again can't I use the warrior belt with the tight top option? No cyborg arms with Warrior tops? Yeah, that is even more messed up. -
Quote:I keep hearing this, and wondering what people think energy projections as suppose to look like? No, you're not the only one. The effects look positively hideous. I'm not super-excited about the prospect of staring at a sea of green for two hours, and the GL costumes are just terrible. Also not helping is my lack of general interest in the Green Lantern character. I'll probably just skip it.
Trailer looks great!
