Quote:can you even burn such a small pile? I always burn in nice cube shaped stacks of 1 billion. I am in fact prepping my 4th cube now hope to set it aflame Monday night before the cold front rolls in.I'm REALLY tempted to sign up and then consign the inf to the 88's base-heating furnace.
=p
disclaimer: I also give away a lot of inf to the needy- I keep an eye out as I roam the forums and when I see a sincere candidate I ask for their global and send them a bag full of cash.
good on you, however I don't have the time to look for worthy players, instead I'll just give it to anyone that asks. -
TL/DR = Free inf for the asking.
So after reading Blue Centurion's thread about the game being too hard, and the Auction House is an evil and scary place I thought what could I do?
I was told long ago "you can lead a ***** to water but you can't make her think. "
So educating the people on how to use the Auction House is right out.
at first I thought I'll list all my SO drops for 1 inf on the market, but then realized that people would have to face the market interface to take advantage so that is a no go.
But I still feel bad for all the people that can't afford the basics to play the game as intended. So here is the short and sweet of it.
If you are down our your luck, need a helping hand and can't figure out how to make it in the big scary game, I'll help.
A quick look at the wiki shows that the most expensive SO is 60,000 and you get 96 slots.
that's 5,760,000 I am going to round that down to 5.5 million. All you have to do is ask; Leave your global in this thread and I'll mail it to you in a day or so.
Will people take advantage of this? I would bet far more that 5.5 million they will! do I care? not really. if I help one player stay in the game knowing that all his enhancements are covered this whole project will be worth it.
How long will I keep this up? well I am starting this project with 1 billion and will fund in a small percent of my earnings to the project after that. I am guessing a good long while.
any questions or comments are welcome but please don't chastise anyone asking for help.
Thanks -
Quote:WHAT?! no, say this isn't true !I'm going to throw this out because its something you might not know.
Issue 19 does away with publicly seeing set bonuses. Come I19 it will be impossible to know who is purpled and who is not.
but that's most of the reason why I bother to slot my toons at all! much less purple them out
dang, this made me more depressed than when I learned that ketchup really isn't a vegetable -
Quote:and here is a very base disconnect you seem to have.If you run this main character for a year, should you have the character decked out in the best treasure the game has, or near it.
NO you should have all the very best gear after only a year of play.
ultra rares are the carrot that keeps some players playing for a very long time.
sure people want them (Including me; I love to brag) but there is no basic right to them.
Mids has really skewed the perception of this game; it allows you to ignore prices, rarity, RNG and game play all together and sets an expectation of having a toon with the very best gear and all you had to do was make a few clicks in Mids
Then you hit the market to go buy all this stuff and are slapped in the fact a few of the pieces are very expensive.
However if you play smart, sell the things you don't need, buy the things you do want maybe after a year of playing smart you can get all that top end gear, and with all that play time under your belt you'll be a superior player and also maybe realize you don't need the gear at all.
The funny thing is they simply aren't needed and are honestly more of an ego boot or bragging rights than anything. Nobody has ever said " if only I had the acc bonus from a purple set I would have survived that encounter"
One of the guys I play with has a purple'ed out bragging rights heavy toon, and a few that are SO only. I play with him often, say 3-4 task force a week, I know his play style pretty well. I can bare tell a performance difference in the toons because the player behind the keyboard is good. -
I would pay 1.1 bil for a coin with an engraving of the goat on it ...
wait no I wouldn't sorry Nethergoat -
an issue I see with the system here is the players want the best possible gear. not just the great and amazing gear, the the rarest of the rare. but at the same time don't want to "play the market mini game" ... and you have always been able to do just that. However by not pooling the efforts of 1000s or 10,000s of players you are setting yourself up for a long and frustrating journey.
The way I see it is that is what the market mini game does for me; it allows me to pool in with all the other players who buy and sell stuff so that I can give them the stuff I don't need to get the stuff I want. And when you are good at that mini game they call you a marketeer and when you are bad you complain about high price. -
had a sack of inf that someone forgot to close up and was going stail like 5 day old bread, so I tossed it into the flames ,,,
88s are still in 9th, but only 10 mil from 7th, hopefully everyone will profit over the weekend and come monday if all of the top 10 in the sg can burn a sack each ... -
they should drop, but you only get one roll per target every 5 minutes so assuming most efficient kill fest possible you are killing 5 toons every 5 minutes for 2 hours that is 60 chances per player and 6 players total so 360 total chances
you may see a drop, but perfectly normal to not see a drop for that low of a number.
also note that is at max efficiency so the raw number of defeats is prolly 1/2 of that -
Maybe, people that never cared about purples, will get an alpha slot and see an improvement, miss it when exmp'ed and look to add purples to their build.
-
I think the recharge will be most popular because as it has been said many times, you can pop reds, purples, or blues to fix those holes; but there isn't a recharge insperation.
I don't think the alpha slot or the increase in lv 50 players will make much of a change in the market price of purples, if anything it may just slow their inflation. -
Quote:Hmm nothing really there for the one I actually intend to take Incarnate, my Invuln/SS tanker.
I get that they're trying to make the slots as broad as possible but...damn...nothing pops out at me as 'must have!'
My main is an inv/ss tank as well, I think either the end redux/ res or the recharge would both greatly benefit my tank. More than likely I'll go recharge. I may go damage for when soloing, but on a team I think recharge would do me more good. -
so at the top tier we are looking at a 30% recharge increase to your powers (45%*.66 no-ed'ed ( most of my stuff is at ed cap as it is )) that's not too shabby. I see my blue bar taking even more of a beating.

Although I have only donated 5 billion total (2 directly and 3 indirectly) I have to say the 88s have become one of my favorite parts of this game in many years.
I may have a spare billion under the sofa cushions and be making another small donation soon.
but like they say on Jerry's kids any donation helps even if it is just a billion or two
PS. to the powers that be I am officially requesting my due promotions within the SG, also a key to execituve wash room would be nice ..
PPS. hurry on that last bit I gots to go -
Granny should be taking her wheelbarrow to the incinerator soon, the autumn chill will be a distant thought tonight....
-
I'll Bid 3 Bil ...
but I'll want a thank you note from granny as well. -
Quote:you mean all inv/ss don't do this? I have binds ctrl+f1 f2 f3 to combine the blues and alt+f2 to use bluesI still tend to run with macros for combining inspirations into small, medium and large blues on the fly, along with a fourth macro for using a blue insp when needed.

Quote:Why am I highlighted? I feel like i am being singled out... I didn't do it, I wasn't there...
I doubt I can burn a billion a week, but I may be able to do 1/2 that -
-
Quote:but I doubt they'll drop below the price of the last days of i18 ... the demand for purples will always greatly outpace supply. 1 purple crazed player will create a demand for 100+ IOs(1) alone. it is going to take a great many players not wanting their drops to fill that demand and then have a surplus to cause prices to fall.If you want my best guess, I'd guess there will be a short-term surge in purple prices with i19 as people break out 50's almost all of which will be respec'ed to add 3 new powers to (which provides a convenient excuse to purple up a set or 2). Of course in a few weeks with everyone playing those same 50's alot, prices will probably stabilize and then drop.
(1) as a purple crazed player I know off hand across the 6 lv 50 toons I have have more than 95 purple ios total -
I think it is pre issue launch hoarding.
with the new issue having a lot of lv 50 content I think purples are going to see a huge spike in prices across the board. -
I kind of want to join the 88s, at first I thought when I hit four billion I'll join and burn two and now I am thinking with i19 and the new lv 50 content that maybe I should have closer to six billion before I start burning excess.
I applaud those that have stepped up and kept the inf cauldron a flame. as I am too timid at this point. -
This has annoyed me to the point it changed my game play. all my salvage now gets stored in my base, and low levels sweep through every few days and list it all so I don't see that silly warning.
