Dear Devs:
My firstborn will be in the drop box.
As for the unlocking of epics at 20, my reaction is a solid 'meh'. After multiple 50s myself, I don't have any problem with people getting them earlier than I did. -
Resisting the mental urge to click on plaques on statues, beginnings of bridges, flagpoles....
-
When do they come alive?
When I look at the costume after what seems like hours of tweaking (in some cases, it WAS about two or so hours in the generator) and I go "Yeah, that's EXACTLY what I was picturing."
While I'm building the character design, their stories practically build themselves. By the time they step into Outbreak, I know just who they are and how they got there. -
Oh, in so many ways. Let's just say with my lot (and my husband's) there's family trees and mentoring trees that cross *dimensions*. Darn you, server transfers!
(in our own personal canon, each of the servers are different alternate earths accessible through Portal Corp.)
Heck, half the time we make new characters, the first thing out of our mouths is "Okay, how do we link 'em up?" -
That should be an ATLAS mission. The first diff person is *there*!
-
To be more specific, can we please get rid of the "Talk to Security Chief in Kings Row" mission you get, oh, around the time you've jetted on to Steel Canyon...where you're told about the difficulty settings?
I would *hope* you knew about them by then.
At the very least, make it a mission you get while you're still OF level in Kings Row. Make it the first mission you get from your radio contact before you take radio missions or something. Or better yet, give it to Blue Steel when you pop into zone, since the contact in question is right behind him anyway.
I LOVE the idea of tying the Chiefs into defeat badges. I would so go for that! -
I actually liked how AION handled it - the 'all hail the Protector of Poeta' cut scene with you in it, being cheered by the populace, and cutscenes like that afterwards.
Problem was, it got very old after a few runthroughs with alts. -
Quote:Indeed.
It's always a bit of a disappointment to find your first choice taken though. I will say the ability to check on a name BEFORE creating concept & costume was a huge step in the right direction.
*waves from her character named Character Name on Virtue*
Quote:I still think that the "This name is unavailable!" pop-up should read "This name is not available on this server." as some new players might not know that names are only server specific. If they are more married to the specific name than to the server choice, they might try another server. -
About a quarter of an inch here in Chicagoland. Maybe not even that. Regardless, not enough for dibs to start up, which is something of a relief.
I would politely request that the Northeast and DC corridor stop stealing our snowdays. -
I dunno, to me this *also* reads "There's no lowbies to play with because everyone plays their 50s!" Also translated: I CANNOT FIND A TEAM.
As someone who has multiple 50s but has been playing one of her lowbies a lot lately (just hit 23 on the main one of this crop) PuGs about, trust me.
Leave my 50s alone, please. Thanks much! -
I just did four of them.
Just hit the Character Transfer option. Select your character then the server you want to transfer to.
It will show you you have X number of tokens remaining.
Hit OK.
Character transfers. It's just that simple. -
Quote:That's the same exact thing I did on my kinetics! You'd love my new kin. His kinetics powers are more colour-co-ordinated than they were. Transfusion being apple green, siphon power being blood red, speed boost being that aquaish colour that run speed enhancements are. Heh. I'm starting to love it myself.
Transference is skyblue, and Fulcrum shift is gold. -
Oh gods. I created a kin/son defender the other day, and originally colored her blasts contrasting blue and red. It looked rather awesome.
However, I was changing those suckers to solid white not five minutes after hitting the game proper. The wave sequence gave me a headache. Not just from the contrast - in game it was really hard to see, weird that. And I certainly didn't want to subject anyone else to that (and they might have a worse reaction than I did)
White. So much better, and easier to see. -
Much to my dismay, most of my characters have 'mental' bios. I have written fics with them in it, so I fully know their backgrounds and how they fit in my version of Paragon.
I just haven't written them up in game yet. The words just don't come. Bleah. Besides, half of them wouldn't make sense to people that haven't read my fics.
As a result, only three of my characters have serious bios, and those were the first ones I got to 50. The rest...sigh. -
Just managed to snag Ring Out for an upcoming SS/WP brute on Virtue. Boxer gone bad.

Did anyone else go "wait, hold the phone" on the Ajax letter?
-
Quote:Not really.Must be a US thing - I'm fairly deeply mired in SF/F fandom on the other side of the Atlantic and I've not heard of that /shrug.
Wouldn't be the first time we were divided by a common language
Two words. Doctor Who. That is one srs fandom.
Is the Eighth doctor canon? Get some popcorn. And yep, I have seen people go all kinds of crazy over counting the novels and radio shows as part of the canon. I can kinda understand where they're coming from, but could they tone it down a notch?
TV Tropes had 'Fan Dumb' dead to rights. -
I can't imagine not taking buildup/FC on my scrappers either.
When you really, *really* want the target you're aiming for to be DEAD or nearly there (paragon protectors in last night's mission, I'm looking at you...lying on the floor, thank you!) or when you're wanting to clear the floor of mooks with an AoE, that's what it's for! -
Nah, I think there's another issue. Just edited to add that when I look at the macro command line half the macro's gone.
Oh, wait, I think I have it now. Working swimmingly now. Dunno why it was doing that. -
Weird thing here. Running Ninjas. Ichi and Nii are my genin, and I just picked up the Jounin, Shi.
/macro PRI “petcom_name Ichi attack defensive$$petcom_name Shi attack defensive”
Target... hit the macro, and Ichi heads for the mob. However... Shi attacks ANOTHER mob before moving on to attack the targeted mob.
I look at my macro, and half of the macro command line is gone. Only the commands for Ichi are still there.
Am I missing something here about writing this? -
I just picked up Holly Go-Weirdly for a mind controller on Virtue (snapped straight from the MST3K short, "Design for Dreaming", about a girl in a 30 minute hallucination about a car design convention...one of the best shorts evar).
On Virtue, no less. I thought that one would be gone.
Trust me, names are still there. -
This right here is awesome. Makes so much sense, and it's something I'm going to adopt with my MMs. Thank you so much!
-
Okay, this is something that's confused me for a while; how to write a macro to leave my tier 1 in defensive while everything else opens fire. Thanks!
