i will label you as a person who plays catgirls

any assumptions i make from there can hardly be to my detriment

  5. we have had so many death threads lately

i think we're up to three people and a dog in the last month

not to trivialize these folks' deaths, but this is kind of weird
  6. i, too, have been on a bad team

here, let me tell you all about it in a way that makes me look both morally and intellectually superior:

  8. This is a rage post about why I refuse to post in topics that advertise themselves as rants about other people saying 'healer' and why I usually end up flaming people who post complaints about the word.

What's the matter, ____? Like in every other MMO and even D&D, you need a someone whining about the word 'healer' or your forum blows!

Wrong. In CoX, the threads are normally always massively one sided. As in, you can complain about something effortlessly, or it will chew through 90% of your argument in one hit and a rebuttal isn't going to save you. Very rarely are there encounters that are honestly in the middle.

Let's compare repeated complaints about a single stupid word vs shutting up. In forums, a healer post will give back about 600 cred - your average poster will have about 2000 cred. Shutting however will give you 40% resistance to looking like a thin-skinned twit. So, if something hits you for 1000 cred, 400 of that bites the dust passively - every time it hits you.

An healer post is capable of recovering 900 cred (we'll say 900 assuming they are following you using their AOE and single target) every 6 seconds (activation time + recharge). So, if you're fighting one person, who wins? The whiner.

However, since shutting up protects passively, if you're fighting a group which does 4000 per posting wave, 1600 of that is mitigated.

No. I am not saying complaining is worthless, and no, I did not compare the other aspects of the set versus the other aspects of shutting up aside from the shields.

Perhaps I've just been really lucky but I've never really been in a situation where a healer post has saved me or the team, not as a frontliner or a backliner.

tl;dr my point is that shutting up > whining about the word 'healer' and you make yourself look like a total newbie by advertising as or requesting a "'healer' post" and you don't belong doing taskforces.
  9. the differences between brutes and stalkers are a glitch in atlas park
  10. i guess what everyone is saying is that if we want lifetime subscriptions we should drive paragon studios to the brink of bankruptcy
  11. if they were just regular buffs in an aoe format, they wouldn't be very novel at all! i suppose i'm specifically asking for more reactionary ally-targeted powers so the topic title is a bit misleading but i think ally targeted aoes are sort of an unexplored frontier and the developers could make all sorts of crazy things, like an aoe build up or a version of the old ff repulsion bomb that knocks enemies away from every ally in a targeted radius

    they could be so coooool
  12. an ally-targeted transfusion or a moment of glory-esque targeted aoe tier 9 would be so novel

if a set were made solely around crazy ally-targeted aoes i would be very happy

  14. [ QUOTE ]
Some people really enjoy the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]
oh well ok now i get it

i don't think i can really argue against this unless a developer comes out and says "character slots take up huge amounts of space and disproportionately slow down the server" or something, but it seems odd to me to have so much space full of things that can't possibly be used that often

then again, it's likely that there is someone here who will post about how they play every one of their 53 characters for at least 2 hours a week so i may as well just give up now
  15. [ QUOTE ]
A "lifetime" subscription would go for no less than $1000, even this late in the game, and I still don't see it happening.

    [/ QUOTE ]

  16. i cannot comprehend needing more than 36 slots for a single server

someone please explain this to me
  17. the coh webcomic on your site isn't very good at all but i am actually interested in your online build bit

if designed with a community aspect in mind i think it could be very cool
  18. i never play coh with anything less than a fifth of tequila on my desk
  19. they should charge your credit card for each use of the architect

    and also for posting threads
  20. i ended up with more defense and less recharge than i'd like but that's life, i suppose

is there anything obvious i'm missing or is this pretty much what i should be aiming for?
