ahhhh...well what do ya know. never been to the tech/bug forum. apparently my search-fu was too specific. good to know it's on it's way to being fixed.

anyone else seeing clipping (severe?) on the female ninja mask? this is something recent, after i18 came out. i created a new female character with the ninja mask for Praetoria and it didn't have this problem. now i see the clipping in the server character screen and in-game. half the character's nose (left side) is exposed as well as a huge triangle on the neck (also left side). and last, there is a small hole on the cheek (again, left side).

so...no comments?
anybody use the new Consume. is it worth putting more than 2 slots in? should I be putting a different enhancementn in it?
how about Electrifying Fences and Ball Lightning. I know the Brutes were using that Red-side. with the new Burn, I understand it's not needed. I originally had the Pyre Epic. should I stay with that, or is electric just as good or better? 2 slots in EF...will that be enough (even tho they're purps)?
going for layers of defense. good idea? or stick to putting in as much rchg as possible and forgetting defense.
multi-strikes in Blazing Aura...is there a better set I might want to put in there? -
Now that GR has come out, I thought I'd take another look at my Fire/SS Tank. I got some good feedback from the boards here a while back and I'd like to ask for some good feedback again.
I still have some TF's I'd like to take him out on, but mostly this Tank is for farming (is that still a "bad" word?). I like the layered defense idea, and I hope I haven't sacrificed anything to get enough Defense to make it worth-while. Any improvements or anything I may have missed, let me know, I'd love to hear it.
Thanx in advance.

I have a lvl 44 WP/SS Tanker. Only half IO'd out and he rocks (now). I did have a bit of trouble with him at lvl 35 when I jumped on an ITF, sk'd up to 50 against +3's. I chewed a lot of skittles that TF. I suspect no Foot Stomp had something to do with it, as well as no SoW. I've duo'd with a Shield/DM Tank on a mission set for 6 against Nemesis and they wreaked havoc on me as well...nearly put the Shield Tanker in the grave on several occasions. I did have Foot Stomp and SoW at that point. I'm guessing fully IO'ing him out might fix that. I've taken my Invuln Tanks against Nemesis and Romans and laughed. Even Carnies aren't too bad...have to pop a purple for the Ring Mistresses tho (before the Invln buff too).
All that being said, those are Tanks. My concern is that my Scrapper will have less protection. I like the triple layers of protection of both secondaries. They both do it a bit differently which isn't an issue. The more resistance and DP of Invulnerability appeals to me. The psi, fear and confuse protections and +perc of WP appeal to me as does the extra Stamina (but this is Katana). Both have some good Defense numbers. You don't see alot about Invuln Scrappers in the forums, even after the buff. I may have to dig deep into the forums.
The Katana with DA will help quite a bit I'm sure. -
PK, I'm glad you brought this up!
I'm thinking about building a new scrapper for praetoria. I'm looking at Katana primary and either Invulnerability or Willpower as a secondary. The highest I have gotten either secondary on a Scrapper is low to mid 30's. The Invuln was last touched in i6. I haven't seen what it can do since the buff it got a short while ago. I have a BS/WP that I haven't played in a long while either..BS just seemed so slow and it wasn't IO'd out. There is a lvl 50 BS/WP in my SG, but not IO'd out either, and seems a bit squishy.
My question is this: which secondary, fully IO'd out (w/o purps or PvPs) has the greatest survivability for most™ of the content this game offers? And for extreme situations (solo +4 x 8 as an example...not that I would, but if I wanted to)? This is for PvE only. I mostly team, but occasionally solo. cash/merits aren't a problem.
I too am looking for some good debate!!! please and thank you!!! -
softcapped defenses with some good IO +regen...you'll be fine.
-
Any good SS/Fire/Mu farming builds? Mine just hit lvl 28 last night...still haven't picked a lvl 28 power yet.
-
I don't see where the OP edited his post...he states that w/o 3 yellows you don't hit crap. not sure if he meant Acc enh's or insp. anyway...
I took my DM/Inv Brute for a spin the other day. I had the same issue...and I do slot for Acc. Actually, I'm having Deja Vu with this post. Seems like this very topic came up 1-2 years ago.
not sure if there really is a problem, or the RNG just hates me. -
saw one on Freedom Saturday night. fully purpled.
-
so my SG has enough prestige to upgrade our plot from the basic plot to something larger. I have a few questions. what happens to the storage bins if I upgrade the plot? will it all be saved? or does it all have to be removed first?
-
Does an Arena duel have to be rated for a PvP recipe to drop, or can it be unrated?
-
I have a decent sized stable of EM's. Since the nerf, I don't play any of them anymore. They just aren't fun now.
...but that's me. just sayin' -
I'd agree that it's about who is behind the toon. Followed by the build, and then the IO's in the build. That being said, at lvl 11...they're all about the same.
Also of note, Inv/* doesn't have it's Taunt Aura until lvl 18.
I did well with my EM/Elec Brute. Of course he was IO'd out. I had to take Tough and Aid-Self to be happy. My Tank will be able to take even more punishment. -
SOLD!!!
apparently I don't need much convincing. -
Haven't used the new "Conserve Power" I didn't take it before i16. I do have Tough/Weave/Aid-Self. My question to those that use the new Conserve Power, do you find it beter than Aid-Self?

Quote:Actually, the Icon in Independence Port is quicker and safer for lowbies. It's essentially right outside the Kings Row entrance.I'm not sure if this is something anyone but me enjoys, but I typically want to make costume tweaks very early in the game. The lowest level zone with an Icon is Steel Canyon, and it's on the opposite side of the zone. You have to weave your way through bad guys that can pretty much one shot you. Still, you CAN do it. They're never so close together that you can't slip through them and make it. Besides, the hospital is halfway there, and at a low level, you can't get any debt. I think of "The Steel Canyon Icon Run" as a right of passage for my new characters. I've never heard of anyone else with the same idea, though, so it's probably just me.

Thanks for all the advice. I may have to re-think this.

So I have a couple of 50's under my belt now....
I'm looking to try something I haven't done yet, tackle an AV solo. I'm all about concept (going for the Samurai concept) and I want to try Dual Blades...something that seems to escape me for some reason. I was thinking of pairing it with WP. So I have a couple of questions for those who have some experience with both this combo and with soloing an AV.
1.) I like running a Tank. I like the survivability of a Tank. Can a DB Tank solo an AV, or would a Scrapper be MUCH better at it? Would I have more fun leveling a Scrapper up to 50 to get to the point where I can solo the AV? I have very little experience with Scrappers (only have 2 that got up to lvl 35 so far).
2.) If the answer to #1 is a Scrapper, can WP survive soloing an AV? Or is there a better secondary for the job? I've seen the Shred Monkey vids (which are awesome btw), so I know the SR would be a good choice as well...it's just getting to the 40's that would be a PITA!
3.) I'm looking to spend no more than a couple hundred million on this build if at all possible -
Been away from the boards for a while. Why are we getting a power called "walk"?

[QUOTE=Heraclea;2069082]Cimeroran costumes do need to be bought with tickets.
There are absolutely no possible trademark or copyright issues with this, regardless of what the censor thinks. Anyone can make an original interpretation of Hercules, an Achilles, or a Colossus, even if those names have been given to Marvel or DC characters. Elements from their mythological origins, like Hercules' club, are also fair game.]
Hmmm...I had a toon named Thorgrimm. Some player decided that that was a trademark infringement and petitioned me. Next day I found my character generic'd. I fought with "the powers that be" for days about this. They insisted that since Marvel had a character named Thor, that meant that the name was trademarked. Even tho Thor was a mythological being. Not only that, they stated that if you cut the name in half, ie "grimm", that was the last name of Ben Grimm, aka the Thing, so I couldn't have that either.
I hear what your saying...I'm just saying.... -
I have a Bots/FF. I have no problems bubbling both my pets and the team. I usually set my first target in the fight, and let the Bots do their thing. Meanwhile, every other mob or 2, I re-bubble the Bots and team. Sometimes I'll even bubble another MM's Bruiser if their's one on the team. I'll throw out a heal every once in a while if I see a team member who needs it. */FF gives you that flexibility.

good luck getting all those kinetic combats too.
