There are absolutely no possible trademark or copyright issues with this, regardless of what the censor thinks. Anyone can make an original interpretation of Hercules, an Achilles, or a Colossus, even if those names have been given to Marvel or DC characters. Elements from their mythological origins, like Hercules' club, are also fair game.
I would be quite interested in playing an arc based on this. My only regret would be that it is currently impossible to populate a Cyclops cave with sheep.

Cool. Thanks for the response. I figured there was nothing preventing the use of these characters. Any appearence by the names within other mediums (comics for example) would just be their version. You can make a character called Thor, but couldn't have him resemble his superhero version that Marvel uses. I will deffinately get going on making the arc. Will need to do a bunch of other arcs to get the tickets for the costumes though

Hmmm...I had a toon named Thorgrimm. Some player decided that that was a trademark infringement and petitioned me. Next day I found my character generic'd. I fought with "the powers that be" for days about this. They insisted that since Marvel had a character named Thor, that meant that the name was trademarked. Even tho Thor was a mythological being. Not only that, they stated that if you cut the name in half, ie "grimm", that was the last name of Ben Grimm, aka the Thing, so I couldn't have that either.

First a couple bits of info. I am thinking of doing an arc revolving around the premise that an experiment in virtual reality technology being done by some tech group or another (not sure which) has gone awry and caused the characters from antiquity to come to life and generally cause trouble for everyone they encounter. Missions would include rescue missions (Helen of Troy), find the object (Golden Fleece), Elite Boss Battles (Paris, Aeneas, Menelaus, Minatoaur, Cyclops, etc), and Arch-Villain/Hero battles (Agamemmnon, Odysseus, Hector, Achilles).
First question. Does this sound like anything people would be interested in running through, provided I do a servicable job putting it together?
Second question. Would I run into any kind of copyright or trademark issues? I wouldn't think so with the literature being thousands of years old, but you never know.
Third question. I can't seem to access the Cimerora costumes (or togas for that matter). Are they not available within MA until you have access in game? Do they need to be purchased with tickets? I would love to have the costumes thematically accurate, but suppose I could say the characters adapted to modern times (or even better, that their abilities from the poems manifested themselves in different ways. I.E. Odysseus was the spinner of tales so it might make sense to have him be a Illusion controller. )
Any thoughts or suggestions are certainly welcome. I really want this to come out well.
