Additionally, the developers released a demo video of staff fighting which featured a SPEAR as the only weapon in the demo.

Well then, there must be a definition of spear which means stick with a knob at the end, cause that doesn't look like an impaling weapon, which is the usual meaning of spear.

    Color Tint...

Metallic shine is not pre-tinting. It's a decision as to what kind of texture the costume piece has. Many, many 'legacy' pieces were made as matte or shine or high gloss or rough leather, etc... That's not pre-tinting.

Pre-tinting is adding a color or a colored texture that effects the final color of the piece. It is this kind of pre-tinting that can make a yellow item appear green, or a black item not be that black. This kind of pre-tinting prevents new pieces from not matching legacy pieces.

These helmets can be colored to match legacy pieces. Only, it will be a shiny metal finish.
  3. I can't remember the last time that they added a weapon that had to be unlocked in game. It doesn't seem they do that anymore.
  4. I assume the "Paragon emblem" is really the Statesman emblem found under:

Chest Detail > Symbols > Statesman (found alphabetically)

    Yes? No?

    How is Staff?

Staff says, "Fine. How are you doing? Say, 'hi' to your mom for me."

Zone PvP is a pretty horrible way to start/learn/experience PvP in my opinion. First off, the sides are almost never even. I can't remember the last time I saw a zone where the fighting was back and forth. Typically, one side is dominating and the other side is forced to fight out of its base without much success.
Zone PvP was one one huge epic fail of game design. Really, really, really, bad game design.

Mostly for the reason you cite: One side can guarantee victory simply by bringing in more people to their side. There is not only an imbalance, but, an invitation to practically *force* imbalance at all times.

Then on top of that, open PvP zones invites the ganker mentality... whether the lone Stalker or the SuperGroup overwhelming force. It pretty much guarantees anyone venturing into a PvP zone to see how PvP is in the game will have a very bad experience of it as they are continually ganked, and then mocked on top of it -- people who gank are rarely kind about it -- I imagine them as the type of people who torture animals.

The 'games' of PvP Zones then become a dreaded curse as players who can't get into the hardcore build building to survive the lawlessness of a zone PvP try to grab some of the rewards found in a PvP Zone (Shivans, Nukes, badges). The Devs wind up virtually saying, "Hey, here's a huge game reward; you only need to survive completely unfair and insurmountable odds to get it!!!" Yeah, *that's* 'fun'. And so, now you have a class of players who hate and resent PvP because of that awful, awful, awful game design of open PvP zones.

Most of the dreaded I13 changes were designed to make Zone PvP more livable and balanced... which was a mistake because Zone PvP can not be balanced. Ever. Although, the I13 changes did make the Zones less ganky.

Most of the I13 changes can be reverted in Arena PvP, thus giving I13 haters almost all that they want in PvP, yet, somehow that doesn't satisfy them. This makes me wonder whether these are really the hated Zone Gankers and they want I13 repealed in the zones so they can go back to taking advantage of all the unfairness inherent in the Pre-I13 zones and feel like winners by exploiting the weaknesses of the mechanics and ganking any non-hardcore player that wanders into the zone.

What PvP needs is what you find in most MMORPGs: Instanced zones (like the Arena) that are easy to set up (the Arena is an 'F' in ease of use) with fun games (the Arena has no fun games like 'capture the flag').

Sailor Saturn is the scariest of the entire bunch. She has an attack designed to destroy entire worlds in order to keep monsters from gaining a foothold on them. The Moon *used* to be a living world in the Sailor Moon manga continuity. It became the airless void it is now after the pre-incarnation of Sailor Saturn used her attack against an army of monster-posessed humans who'd killed all the inhabitants.

[Broadcast] Zombie Man: So, how many Gambit clones have been created so far now that staff fighting is out?
[Broadcast] Gammbut: I haven't seen any.
    [Broadcast] Gaembid: who?
[Broadcast] xxGambitxx: I know not, mon cher!

Just what's already mentioned in this thread:
    • Metal
    • Glossy Metal
    • Wood
    • Broom
    • Tech
    • Pipe
    • Pool Cue
    • Trident
    • Wrapped

And why would there be spears? Spears are stabby things and blood gushing everywhere things. Staff is traditionally more whacky and arresty than killy. (And yes, that means Trident really shouldn't be there unless you rationalize that the Trident is being used to catch weapons and disarm.)
  17. I'm actually... *impressed*... with Marketing this week.

Along with Staff Fighting, there are sale items for the stuff you'd like to go with a Staff Fighting character:
    • Imperial Dynasty and Martial Arts costume packs
    • Ninja Run
    • Character Slots
    • Melee and Defense SBEs

On top of that, the announcement tells us how to find these items in that less-than-stellar Market UI.

    Nice job!

  19. The Advanced terminal is on the Expert Worktable.

It says *security* terminal. Maybe it's not showing up if you don't have *Secure* Control room?

Interestingly and a good step forward, in the new arcs of I23, when you talk to an in-instance contact, what's in the dialog box pops up as word balloons an also into NPC chat. This means more than the mission holder sees the text.
