Quote:This. Please don't confuse an offer to help out as doubting anyone's ability. I would gladly help out as well, as I am enthusiastic about seeing new raiders succeed. I also understand if people want to figure it out themselves. To each their own, and I definitely respect that.Sorry if you feel like we are trying to steal your show or assuming you can't do it. None of us assumed you guys weren't able to lead a raid, or even hinted at taking lead in any way. We want to help. We have experience that i'm sure some people would like to learn and we are offering to share it. We aren't asking for anything in return.
Hazygreys came to Champion with question to learn how to raid and lead raids. We were more than happy to answer his question and if he asks us to help during a raid on Liberty, i'm sure many of us would be there.
This being said if you feel we are not welcomed, then we will not force it upon you. I'm sure you have many great leaders that can step up for this and help make it happen.
Quote:As far as leading the raid, I think Hazy should do it. He has already done a bunch of research and will do a good a job as anyone save for one of the regular raid leaders from Champion or Virtue transfering over to lead.
Best of luck, Liberty. I am cheering you guys on! -
He feels pretty... oh so pretty...
(Sorry man, couldn't resist. )
Great guide, as always. -
To my fellow Hamidon raiders:
Due to various reasons and life obligations, the leadership crew that hosts your regularly scheduled blueside Hami raids on Wednesday and Sunday evenings feels it can no longer commit to this schedule. Instead, it has been agreed that raids will be organized and advertised on an impromptu basis until further notice.
We would like to thank everyone for their participation at the raids and making them a fun, community oriented activity on Champion. We also believe this would be a great opportunity for those who might be interested or curious about trying raid leadership for themselves. Feel free to contact myself or the other raid leaders for advice.
If you have any questions or concerns, please PM me or send me a tell @Amygdala.
Thanks! -
Looks like they fixed the bug. We're going to give a blueside raid a whirl this evening at 9pm EST.
See you there. -
Looking a lot better. The more you play with it, the more you'll get familiar with what IO sets do what and what's important to you.

That pretty much sums it up. Overall, Champion is a great server and has been my home for several years. It is very much a community-minded server with weekly events/raids, very helpful and experienced players. The key to experiencing the Champion server to the fullest is to join one of our active global chats. They are the best link to the heart of the community. -
Hi Zeph,
Welcome to Champion. I'm in game at the moment if you wanted to team or need some help. Send me a tell @Amygdala or to Dex Laroche, the character I'm currently on. -
A formal event sounds good. The SG High Society Order hosts formal/club attire events every now and again with a solid turn out, so I believe the interest would be there. Generally their base is decorated accordingly.
If you need help with funding/prizes let me know, I'd be willing to donate if needed. -
Quote:I'd go with Flash, between these two, simply because...I'm trying to decide if I'd want Thunder Clap over flash at them moment. Given the amount of chaos I'm capable of, I'm not quite sure I should be relying on an AoE hold...
1) They're both PBAoE, so no difference there. Either power requires that you run into a spawn and wave your arms and poof! Stuff happens.
2) Flash is a mag 3 hold, which means it'll hold anything up to Lieutenants. Thunder Clap, on the other hand, is a mag 2 stun, which means it'll stun Minions only.
3) Flash enables you to hold Bosses in 2 moves if needed, by stacking it with Blind (also mag 3).
Also, Silas isn't lying when he says to check out his guide. It is very helpful and well written. -

I'll keep an eye out for him, see if he needs any help.

Yeah, unfortunately our blueside raid last night could not be completed due to the bug. I thought it was worth a shot to try a raid after hearing that Virtue had managed to complete their regular 3 raids back to back the previous day. I got a hold of someone from Virtue who had been at the raids and they said that they basically DPS'd the uber greens. No nukes were used. I'm thinking if this were the case, perhaps the fact we only had about 40 people in zone at both our recent redside and blueside raids could have factored in.
Regardless, like Stray posted, it looks like a fix is in the works. -
I think you really can't go wrong with Illusion/Storm. It's a very powerful combo IMO and very easy to solo because of Phantom Army and a large array of other toys, which you mentioned being a consideration. It also has Spectral Terror, a fear power which would lend nicely to your nightmare concept.
As for the 'best' primary for /Storm, I'd say that's largely debatable. Some will say Earth Control because of the -KB component. This could be considered a luxury for some, but definitely not necessary. If you're going to play Storm, best not be afraid of a little KB.
Other synergies you might be on the lookout for are AoE stuns, which Fire and Earth Control both have if you were looking to stack them with Thunder Clap from Storm.
Overall, Storm can be a great set when paired with any Controller primary. It really depends on what you want out of it. -
Welcome again. Good to hear you are still enjoying yourself.
