Quote:That's no moon zone.yeah.... I dont recall anywhere in game you can see both the earth and moon in orbit. But that also means it cant be the moon..... giant meteor the shivans put into orbit? Thats my guess anyway. Maybe thats a new zone for 40-50 we get instead of revamped shadow shard.
It's actually the final map of the SSA Who Will Die #7. Honestly, on top of all the useless fluff zones that will be forgotten about in a month tops that we've gotten/are getting, I think we shouldn't be getting a moon zone for at least three or four issues. -
Quote:Wouldn't be much different from any RWZ or Hami raid already. Costume auras don't do too much compared to the outrageous light show of power effects we already have.Imagine 50 MM's in a zone, with all their pets out, and every character with TWO auras going on at the same time.
Anyways, I would just love to have the Path Auras be separate. Kind of gets annoying having to have one costume dedicated to the Fiery Path Aura for flying/running around, and the other costume dedicated to the Bioplasma aura for combat. -
I'm always down for a little PvP. I'm not all that at all, but hey, it can still be fun. Global's @X-zero if you ever want a match.

Quote:wutI went to a PvP zone once during this time to help some sg mates get PvP kill badges. I stood there and let them kill my daughters, then logged in the next one and allowed them to kill her. I HATED every kill, gritted my teeth and helped them, and was emotionally torn up by seeing my daughters die again and again.

Quote:Might also be a bit of C) Lack of any real rewards. This game has shown time and again people don't run things because they're fun more than a couple times. They run things that provide the best rewards. Look at farming AE fire farms or the DFB, for example. Tons of people do it constantly, despite the fact it gets old and monotonous very quickly and offers nothing new, creative, or even remotely interesting. Whereas genuinely entertaining content will be left to gather dust after it's been played once. Since PvP only offers a ridiculously small shot at getting an IO that's alright, I can imagine a lot of people won't be interested to try PvP, or stick with it very long.A) people stopped because of the changes in I13 and were not willing to adjust because they couldn't do things the old way. News flash, the PVE game has changed drastically also, and you have had to adjust in that. Same Difference.
B) the Jerkish Minority pissed enough people off that PvP has a nasty stigma to it, and thereby people refuse to even give it a chance now. This I can see and understand. Unfortunately with those who would PVP before who are left here to just complain about PVP all it does now it reinforce that thought, even though the people complaining were not part of the jerks. Perception is reality. -
Quote:People get angry at anything, though. I've seen folks get angry and kick folks from teams in PvE purely because you chose a power they didn't like, or you're a "noob" to the game, or the always hot topic of powers with KB.Why don't I do PvP? There's a very clear answer to that: Why should I? Why on earth would I want to do something that causes bad feelings?
Either I lose, then I feel bad. Or I win, then another player feels bad. That's a loss/loss-scenario! Playing this game is supposed to be fun, but in my humble opinion it should not be fun at the cost of somebody else's fun.
Just look at true PvP games like that very successful and famous DotA clone whose initials seem to indicate that somebody was laughing hard. Listen to the players talk to each other. They get truly angry! They curse at each other, even at their team members!
When I spend some free time playing games, I want to have a good time. I want to enjoy playing. PvP requires me to spoil somebody else's fun in order to have fun myself. I don't want to do that, therefore I don't PvP.

Best thing you can do is always stay a good sport. If someone tries insulting you and getting angry at you, ignore 'em. If you lose, no big. You don't get debt, and there are no other negative consequences. If you win, say "Good game" or "Good job" and, if you're up for it, offer a rematch. -
Quote:Sadly I think that you are both missing my point.
If the items are offered as an incentive to remain a loyal customer (and no I didn't subscribe just to obtain them) then what benefit do loyal customers get if the items are then offered to all a much lower cost? Basically it negates the whole idea of it being a Loyalty Reward, doesn't it? They may as well have not offered it in the first place?Quote:Why should I maintain my subscription and not spend the money in the new game if not only can I get the rewards later but maybe I can get them cheaper?
Think about that.
As to your point about loyalty and inspiring folks to stay subscribed, though, yeah this program failed for a number of reasons. Mainly the fact that they spent all of one day advertising it a week before the program started, and all they had to show off was a sketch of what the items are planned to look like. Then months go by and the mods, aside from Zwill once or twice, act like this program never even existed. But I doubt that if these items someday not-very-soon get put on the market that it would've effected the amount of loyal subscribers very much at all. The last program was the Vanguard pack, a pack consisting nearly solely of items we've had access to for years already, but people still loved getting them. -
Quote:Not gonna lie, there would be some awesome maps to add to the Arena. To name a few, the Fifth Column room you fight Reichsman in, the courtyard you fight Romulus Augustus in, the Galaxy City tutorial map where you fight the giant Shivan, part of the ravaged city in First Ward, the exterior of the Vanguard compound, the Magisterium, outside of Neuron's tower, and even a Rooftops map that isolates you to one of the many large skyscraper rooftops in Imperial City or the new Atlas Park. Any of these would be refreshing, awesome, and provide some variety while showing attention to PvPers. Just a little work to wall 'em off, set spawn points, and designate them small, medium, or large player sizes and bing bang boom.A new arena map relative to the content of the respective issue would have certainly been refreshing.
Indeed, if they were serious about making changes to redeem pvp, we should have seen something that would hint towards that at least a couple of times over the past TEN issues. That was almost 3 and half years ago.
Speaking of the new Atlas Park, if Zwill's still lurking this thread, there's a quick issue that also somewhat proves the lack of attention to CoH's PvP. The arena still uses the old Atlas map. Doesn't even have an AE building or Wentworth's. Any chance of this seeing a fix for this in the foreseeable future? -

Quote:That makes zero sense. You didn't spend that much money on these items. You spent that much money on complete access to this game, including free points every month. You will be rewarded with free items for maintaining said subscription.Actually I disagree that there are free, as they have been earnt, this is my point about loyalty rewards.
And as for putting the items on the market, if it was bundled as a set and priced at the equivalent of $59.96 it would have my full support.
To those that didn't subscribe, or happened to of missed this period of loyalty, they should be allowed to spend extra money on purchasing these items in the market. -
Flying enemies have been running away a lot lately, without taking damage even. Longbow Eagles or Wing Raiders will fly far away, then come back, only to fly far away again.

Quote:Cool story.Take [Dark Melee: Midnight Grasp] Apply to (Target). Midnight Grasp can be colored. It is the exact same effect. Leave EVERYTHING else alone, just change the effect applied by [Soul Mastery: Soul Tentacles] No Trial, No error, No time, No hassle. Start coding, take a day to test it. Seriously.
It's bad enough they were saying for months Pets each use as much comp power as a Player, then when they were replying to "Why can't we modify pets costumes?" they own up to the fact pets are written to be low resolution cheap comp power effects. The story always changes, but the underlying fact is this: "Suck it up, that's the way it is, and we'll change it if somebody feels like it, maybe."
This is related closely to why so much of the game has misspellings, typos, and grammar that would embarrass a 5th grader. It's easier to just leave it the way Joe typed it Monday morning while recovering from a hangover. -
-
Those you kept their subs get it for free. Everyone else would have to pay extra to get those items, and they won't be included to the market for a few months later anyway. Exactly how the Vanguard pack was.

Quote:Oh, that. Completely forgot about that, considering just how small of an issue it really is. If you're really going to throw a hissy fit and say the villain population is lower because we lack two whole SFs, ignoring everything else villains have and have gotten over the years, that's pretty ridiculous. You're saying there's equality. If so, where is the 10-15 SF? Where is the 30-35 SF? It's been 6 yrs since CoV launch and still neither exists. Meanwhile CoH has had them since creation (8 yrs). There have been 17 content updates during that time and still nothing. The WST mechanic highlights the SF vs TF discrepancy every month.
Are you ignoring this? Yes or no?
Edit: Also, in terms of equality, like I mentioned earlier. Villains get Patron pools by default. Heroes have to actually stop being heroes and become villains to get them. Not to mention the villain side SSAs give temp powers and the Kal SF gives a temp buff that lasts until level 50. Heroes don't get that. So the equality thing goes both ways. -

Even before then we got Dean MacArthur and Leonard, Mortimer Kal's SF, Vincent Tarikoss, their own villainous Ouro SFs, Barricuda's SF which is actually considerably different from Dr. Khan's, along with 5th Column added to various places throughout the Isles. Pain Domination was even a villain exclusive powerset. Not to mention villains get default access to Patron Pools, while heroes are required to go villain if they want to pick one up. Again, there was never something heroes got that villains didn't in their own way.
