Where is it? Lol just looking out to see if any pvp could be found in Virtue.

Virtue pvp. lol.
I pvpd there awhile back, on and off for a year or two. Basically, it was a bunch on VERY casual rp'ing people, who just where there to have fun (like..really have fun, not the 'fun' that the hardcore people SAY they have) and then a few pvp sgs, who would only ever go into RV with full vent teams and fully tricked out. Then, the 'cool' people would proceed to farm the rping ones, till they went away, so they could talk about how wtf awesome they were, for killing a few casual players.

Now, I know this sounds like what Freedom pvp can be at times, but I also pvp there, and Virtue was way more Clique-y. If you weren't in their group, you were a nub and not worth helping.

The hilarious thing is that, as a player from Freedom, all these 'cool' people would always insult and pick on Free...and now, most of them have moved their pvp toons there. Guess that is progress though..they are finally owning up to the fact their aren't half as good as they thought.

The semi planned virtue pvp events I found to be even worse. An entire sg and their coal, ALL on one side..vs 4 random people, because that is 'how we have fun!' Obviosly a few people switching to even things out would just have totally ruined their fun and balanced pvp night.

Also probably want to look at Victory, Justice, Champion, and Freedom for pvp oriented things.

I know Victory is currently doing a lvl 5 stuff, and in Mayish there will be a 3v3 tourney/ladder (unknown as of yet)

I haven't checked the other servers...

And I agree with MisterD in the fact of the Virtue "clique-y" issue.

Well, that is why Virtue is the unofficial RP server, because PvP is not the focus. There are plenty of other servers that have strong PvP activities going on. If you want PvP go to Freedom, Victory, Justice, or Champion. If you want to RP go to Virtue or Union. If you want to run around pantsless and do "Speedo Hami Raids" go to Triumph.

For those that whine "But I want to PvP on Virtue", get over it. There are at least 4 servers that have strong PvP communities. Go there. Why try squeezing a blood out of a stone? Let one server be for those that have no interest in PvP.

No server has a strong PVP presence. Even Freedom is dead these days.

If you want to PVP on virtue go for it. There's a few of us still doing it here. Please remember that most people have very high opinions of their characters, and so tend to avoid the humbling nature of PVP in this game.

@Xanatos/@Vince are always looking for more people to 2v2/1v1/2vSG. Get in touch

There's not a whole lot anywhere in the game, but you can usually find a few people in RV or the arena.

I'm always up for a duel or 2v2, feel free to send me a message. @Amarlex.

@Amarlex in game, on the Virtue server.

If you ever wanna 1vs1 or anything just send a tell @Steel'

I haven't PvP'ed in aeons - but I would be up for a mass arena rumble. I.e. 64 people PvP'ing their brains out.

Masters

There are a few people that pvp regularly on the server, mainly in RV. Most of the core people are nice and helpful people. It's just a matter of the time/day.

Freedom is far busier, but the skill level on average isn't realistically any better than the few die hard pvpers here. There are just simply more of them to aim at. That being said the best PVPERs I have known have usually come from or sharpened their skills in Freedom.

The Serial Killaz and THUGS, still pvp regularly. A smaller VG name "lol Virtue PvP" have a small group that actively play as well. A few of them played on a test ladder toward the end of its glory for a bit. It's not exactly top tier competition across the board, but it's a nice place to start and have fun.

Most of the "bashing" I've seen , is simply arguments and usually ends fast. It can't even begin to be compared to the ignore macro required for freedom's broadcast spam.

If you want to PvP, let me know, I'll gladly help out or fight whatever.

I'm always down for a little PvP. I'm not all that at all, but hey, it can still be fun. Global's @X-zero if you ever want a match.

they dont use actual attack powers there...it's all done with chat and emotes

With the popularity of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) I have been seeing a lot of MMA costumes around paragon city. It got me thinking of an RPvP fight club. My idea was if anyone wants to join and had an extra character slot, make a Willpower Scrapper, Tanker, Stalker or Brute. You will have to use a Natural Weapon, such as a Battle Axe, Broad Sword, Claws, Dual Blades, Katana, Staff Fighting, Street Justice, Super Strength, Martial Arts, Titan Weapons, and War Mace. This will be more than likely a mix between Fight Club, Blood Sport and MMA. The reason I picked willpower as the armor is I believe it will fit the RPvP theme. With training a fighter becomes tougher (Resist), faster (Defense), better stamina (Quick Recovery), and heals faster due to just being healthy (Fast Healing). We need to have a winner and a loser for every fight and I like the fact that this set does not have a heal except for Stalkers. For that reason Heal Decay and Diminishing Returns will be activated for the fights.

Rules:

  • No Travel Suppression - Characters will not have their travel speed decreased or ability to teleport disabled after they attack.
  • No Travel Powers - Characters are limited in how fast they can run and how high they can jump. They cannot use Fly or Hover, or powers that mimic those effects. They cannot use Teleport, except for powers that Teleport your enemies. This rule does not affect the other effects of these powers (such as any defensive boosts), those will still activate when the power is toggled on.
  • Cage Match – Since this game does not have an octagon we will do all matches in the cage.
  • No Inspirations – Inspirations can prolong a fight and we will need a winner/loser
  • No Set Bonuses – Yes I said it “No Set Bonuses.” Before every match you will be check to see if you have set bonuses. It will be like using steroids and is not permitted. You will be allowed to use Regular Enhancements, Common IO’s, Hydra Origin Enhancements, Crystal Titan Origin Enhancements, or Hamidon Origin Enhancements.
  • No Temporary Powers - Disallows the use of any temporary powers players may have on their character.
  • Rated Matches – All matches will be rated and a person with a lower rating can challenge anyone that has a higher rating.

Weight Class Range in Experience Levels
  • Strawweight 1 – 5
  • Flyweight 6 – 11
  • Bantamweight 12 – 13
  • Featherweight 14 – 21
  • Lightweight 22 – 26
  • Welterweight 27 – 31
  • Middleweight 32 – 37
  • Cruiserweight 38 – 40
  • Heavyweight 41 – 46
  • Super Heavyweight 47 – 50

If you feel comfortable in a weight class you do not have to leave that class, even if you exceed the level cap. Some professional fighters stay their whole career in one weight class. From Middleweight to Super Heavyweight when you are able to use any APP/PPP you wish. It will be like your training helped you tap into your chi and unlocked a super ability; however you still will not be able to have set bonuses. I like the idea of no set bonuses because you do not have to spend a lot of influence to make these characters and it will help everyone play on even ground and this can be fun for everyone.

What we need is an event coordinator (Supplies the list of fights and roster), fight promoter (Supplies Photo Shop posters), Referee and Ring announcer. We could even go as far as having ring girls that holds up the score card to represent the rounds. They will be no prizes other than the badges earned and fun. We can hold the events on Sunday’s and call it “Super Brawl Sunday.” If people like this we can discuss having money prizes for the fighters in the future.

Is this a good idea or should I scrap it?

I like this idea a lot. Will all matches be a 1v1? Can we create a Dojo SG/VG and have team support before our matches? Can we use IO's as long as we Frankenslot and do not get set bonuses? You can even do a Pay Preview. Where you can set it as No Observers and you can pay a fee and enter the match and watch from the outside of the ring and cheer on your fighter.

I am going to make either a Staff/WP scrapper or a Dual Blade/WP brute.

That idea sounds pretty legit though I'd like to allow set bonuses.

Q: Will all matches be a 1v1?
A: Yes, all matches will be 1vs1

Q: Can we create a Dojo SG/VG and have team support before our matches?
A: Yes I would like if people get into character and this is a good way to start.

Q:Can we use IO's as long as we Frankenslot and do not get set bonuses?
A: I don't see a problem with that. One of the main reason people don't like to PvP is they do not want to put the money into a PvP build or just do not know hoe to make a PvP build. This will eliminate both problems and welcome new people to PvP.

Q: You can even do a Pay Preview. Where you can set it as No Observers and you can pay a fee and enter the match and watch from the outside of the ring and cheer on your fighter.
A: Great Idea, but it is too soon to tell. Only have 3 people interested.

If you are interested please send me a PM.

How about set bonuses at Middleweight to Super Heavyweight and keep the lower classes with out bonuses? This will have to be put into a vote if we get more followers. I was thinking of giving it the name of Ultimate Melee Championship (UMC). If this takes off I will see if we can get some support from the P.E.R.C. and dev's.

I agree let the sets be for middleweights to super heavyweights. Find @Masters I'm really interested in kicking this off.

I would not suggest going on with this event.

As someone who spent the last 3 years with his attention on Fight Club PvP, I know, and 2 of my friends know, there are certain combinations that are going to dominate this competition.

The rules are so specific that I can already see the limitations on people, making it impossible to counter certain tactics.

You've taken Rock/Paper/Scissors and removed the Rock. Everyone will be rolling Paper, and since WP is the only secondary, there is nothing to kill Scissors.

As fun as this competition may be for some people, understand that a couple of us diehard min/maxers will completely obliterate this competition. This is some of the most imbalanced competition I have ever seen.

Do not give away prizes for this, and no dev should help organize this. If it were to go through, you'd have 3-4 PvPers killing everyone else within the first minute for every single match. It would be broken as hell.

I -could- provide a nice list of powers to ban in order to stop this from happening. For example, stop WP/SS tanks from spamming Jab/Box with 3-4 procs and killing everything. In this case, you'd ban Boxing from the competition.

If you include set bonuses, you have a select few who know exactly how to PvP spec their build for fighting WP toons. The gap between the average player and the top player would be extremely high. This would look unfair to people, and really, it is.

If you exclude bonuses, then you see a few privileged individuals using 53 HOs and damage procs in their attacks. Dominating frankenslotted toons.

If you make it SO only, it's impossible to enforce them from frankenslotting because there's no way to tell.

So here are my problems with this idea.

If you enforce WP only, I can think of 2-3 combinations that could not be countered.

If you enforce no set bonuses, you have a huge gap between 53 HO users and expensive procs vs those who can't afford it.

If you enforce SO only, there's no way to know if someone is lying or not.

My biggest problem with this competition is that it wouldn't be a competition at all. I'm known for specializing in Melee Fight Club duels and have been for years, but these specific rules here just make my job a million times easier, and while I had to make my build have enough accuracy for SR/EA/Shield, or have enough recovery for end drainers, this means I can go full out regarding a lot of things.

It wouldn't be fair, at all.

Conclusion: I don't want to annouce what would break this competiton so that everyone can make them, but I'm willing to respond to a PM from Aumakua explaining it.

Would you suggest to use all the power set and not keep it limited?

I'd like to see All IO sets, all Powers, all AT's welcome. People can sign up for what weightclasses they want. Say just the Alpha and Reactive slot, or maybe just Alpha. Some the incarnates can be pretty broken in Arena, so I don't think much passed Alpha/Reactive should be considered.

So far from the e-mails I have been getting from other players about using all weapons and powersets is a bad idea and actually someone suggested that to limit it to MA, SJ and SS/WP to limit overpowering builds. I kinda like the idea since it is actually RPvP and not regular PvP. If this works and if this work and gets a following then later we can start the UMMC (Unlimited Meta Melee Championship) where all superpowers are allowed, but for now I do think we should keep it limited. What do you think?

Or we can just have two groups a Human group and a Superhuman group running at the same time? The superhuman fights will be the main event.
