I understand the sentiment that people grinded and worked hard for their incarnate powers, but bear in mind that nothing released after issue 13 has been made with pvp specifically in mind. Incarnate powers are included in this.

Incarnate powers, weren't made, or scaled in effectiveness to truly be used in pvp, most of them, their effectiveness is the same in pve as it is in pvp. Give or take a few percentages. People could easily do judgement spikes for an easy 1-2 kills, which in a 5v5 could make the difference in winning or losing. Pyronic judgement for instance, has basically a blaze cast time, and does around 300+dmg. Judgement alone severely reduces the skill attributed to acquiring kills in a team setting, this applies not only to Pyronic, but to Ion, that is albeit a bit longer of an animation but still does good dmg.

Destiny isn't any better, allowing a squishy to heal for 1200+ with rebirth, or boost the effectiveness of healing by 80% with incandes, once again detracts from the skill and necessary teamwork of team pvp. Sure Rebirth roots you, and incan is a teleport, but nonetheless, you would see large heals and increased survivability, but the damage of those teams isn't boosted, it remains as a constant. So you would see people almost never dying, with a sub-par emp because of one ability. You can suggest that end drain might be an issue for teams running multiple incans, however, in that case, a team would just bring a storm and cancel the drains, with an O2 boost for over 1000+HP. Or simply bring 20 blues, since our heals from our emp would be well over 1K as well.

Interface is an issue in itself. If lets say, 3 of the damage dealers on the team of 5, each have reactive, and lets say they each land 4 attacks, that is 12. Lets say that they are intelligent and using reactive radial flawless interface, generally speaking, each tick from the dot is around 9-12, thats over 100dmg purely from dot. Thats not really indicative of any skill, that extra dot may earn a team a kill, also each tick potentially reduces dmg resistance, boosting the dmg of the spike slightly.

I feel that I am re-hashing, information that all of you already know, but aren't really thinking through. I fully intend to participate, however, I feel we should at least put this to a vote. As it stands, allowing interface, judgement, and destiny incarnates seems to seriously take away the skill required in team pvp. It would allow sub-par players, to be successful, and only because of a system, made without pvp as its focus. I seriously hope you will consider my proposal. I feel if this is to be a league based on competition, and player skill, which determines the victors, then Alpha only should be the way to go. Thank you.

    Noise--

I thought you did just fine. I saw you get a few kills. On a sonic/sonic with fly, that's amazing first and foremost. Secondly, we were glad to have you in zone.

It was nice to see you again, last night as well. At one point we had 23 people in zone. That is what it is all about.

Black, Depending on what you are wanting to learn, I am usually up all hours of the night. A good friend of mine in game also is from the UK, so I am used to playing on those hours. I may be able to assist you with somethings.

    Mezze,

This will be going on as long as there is interest. You're free to learn at your own pace. I'm sure someone will be available when you're ready. I understand the being broke ordeal. If I where you, I'd make a build of what I wanted to play/slot then send it to Abso and ask for advice. He is pretty sharp with PVP builds.

If this works and if this work and gets a following then later we can start the UMMC (Unlimited Meta Melee Championship) where all superpowers are allowed, but for now I do think we should keep it limited. What do you think?

Or we can just have two groups a Human group and a Superhuman group running at the same time? The superhuman fights will be the main event.

After reading " I kinda like the idea since it is actually RPvP and not regular PvP" I'm inclined to agree with you. I can see people not wanting to get "exploited" so to speak with overpowered builds. At the same time though with to much limitation, why would I ever bother putting effort in? I play squishys. Without my IO sets, there is no way i can even begin to stand before most of the melee sets. If I can't . I promise you most of the server can't under the same guidelines.

Edit - PVP is PVP I'll play and try regardless.

I'd like to see All IO sets, all Powers, all AT's welcome. People can sign up for what weightclasses they want. Say just the Alpha and Reactive slot, or maybe just Alpha. Some the incarnates can be pretty broken in Arena, so I don't think much passed Alpha/Reactive should be considered.

As someone who spent the last 3 years with his attention on Fight Club PvP, I know, and 2 of my friends know, there are certain combinations that are going to dominate this competition.

The rules are so specific that I can already see the limitations on people, making it impossible to counter certain tactics.

You've taken Rock/Paper/Scissors and removed the Rock. Everyone will be rolling Paper, and since WP is the only secondary, there is nothing to kill Scissors.

As fun as this competition may be for some people, understand that a couple of us diehard min/maxers will completely obliterate this competition. This is some of the most imbalanced competition I have ever seen.

Do not give away prizes for this, and no dev should help organize this. If it were to go through, you'd have 3-4 PvPers killing everyone else within the first minute for every single match. It would be broken as hell.

I -could- provide a nice list of powers to ban in order to stop this from happening. For example, stop WP/SS tanks from spamming Jab/Box with 3-4 procs and killing everything. In this case, you'd ban Boxing from the competition.

If you include set bonuses, you have a select few who know exactly how to PvP spec their build for fighting WP toons. The gap between the average player and the top player would be extremely high. This would look unfair to people, and really, it is.

If you exclude bonuses, then you see a few privileged individuals using 53 HOs and damage procs in their attacks. Dominating frankenslotted toons.

If you make it SO only, it's impossible to enforce them from frankenslotting because there's no way to tell.

So here are my problems with this idea.

If you enforce WP only, I can think of 2-3 combinations that could not be countered.

If you enforce no set bonuses, you have a huge gap between 53 HO users and expensive procs vs those who can't afford it.

If you enforce SO only, there's no way to know if someone is lying or not.

My biggest problem with this competition is that it wouldn't be a competition at all. I'm known for specializing in Melee Fight Club duels and have been for years, but these specific rules here just make my job a million times easier, and while I had to make my build have enough accuracy for SR/EA/Shield, or have enough recovery for end drainers, this means I can go full out regarding a lot of things.

It wouldn't be fair, at all.

Conclusion: I don't want to annouce what would break this competiton so that everyone can make them, but I'm willing to respond to a PM from Aumakua explaining it.

There goes Blue, messing up my plans.

    Masters

There are a few people that pvp regularly on the server, mainly in RV. Most of the core people are nice and helpful people. It's just a matter of the time/day.

Freedom is far busier, but the skill level on average isn't realistically any better than the few die hard pvpers here. There are just simply more of them to aim at. That being said the best PVPERs I have known have usually come from or sharpened their skills in Freedom.

The Serial Killaz and THUGS, still pvp regularly. A smaller VG name "lol Virtue PvP" have a small group that actively play as well. A few of them played on a test ladder toward the end of its glory for a bit. It's not exactly top tier competition across the board, but it's a nice place to start and have fun.

Most of the "bashing" I've seen , is simply arguments and usually ends fast. It can't even begin to be compared to the ignore macro required for freedom's broadcast spam.

If you want to PvP, let me know, I'll gladly help out or fight whatever.

    Pvp sg/vg

    Hello all--

Anyone have PVP based SGs/VGs on Virture currently? (lolvirtue i know).
I am returning from PRE I13, and as most of you could imagine, it has appeared to have ran off nearly every friend I ever made.

I'm starting back from scratch..and wanted to see who all is out there...I posted on the "Virtue" board, but as soon as you mention lolvirtue pvp, Legacy of Tyrant, Fortified, Sitting Ducks, Frontline, or PVP in general.. they just look @ you like you voted for Ron Paul or something.

    thanks

    Returning Player

    Hello all---

I am a returning player from pre i13. I am looking for an SG/VG to get involved with. i13 ran off many of my friends and I have since lost contact with nearly all of them. I checked the SG/VG Sticky's and really didn't see much. I'm looking for a place were RP isn't required, or maybe something I can casually get into. TF's , Accolades, SFs is what I am really looking for. Really looking to play a big role in active teaming. Also anything arena or PVP related. I know Virtue isn't the ideal place for the last two, however I prefer Virtue as a server. If anyone from God's of Virtue/Villainy , Sitting Ducks (except Xad) , Legacy of Tyrant or LOLVirtue PVP are still around, please feel free to contact me as well.
