    I agree with you both on this actually. Your own setup with damages instead of hold durations is the way to go till your late teens then you should swap to 2 acc, 2 rech, 2 hold dur in it.
  2. Ice Control:

    Must Haves:
    1: Block of Ice, single hold, will be your most used power.
    2: Ice Slick, super knockdown power (except against clocks!)
    3: Glacier, your AoE hold

    Useful:
    1: Jack Frost, good dmg in melee but isnt too fond of going in there, has an ok hold aswell.
    2: Shiver, nice wide cone slow
    3: Arctic Air, really nice PbAoE slow and confuse. Unfortunately doesn't synergize too well with Hurricane and uses a LOT of end. You have to choose between this and some of the toggles from Storm because of the enduse.

    Has it's uses:
    1: Chillblain: Recommend taking this at the lowerlvls for dmg and maybe respec it out later. Still very nice to keep AVs in check in the later game.
    2: Frostbite: Doesn't synergize well with both ice and storm because of the 10 second -knockdown in it (except if you're using Tornado). Very handy for setting up containment so definately consider it for the endgame.

    Limited Use:
    1: Flash Freeze, it's a sleep. Has it's uses but would vote against it...too many other good powers to take.


    Storm Summoning:

    Must Haves:
    1: Gale: 'cos you have to take it (otherwise pretty [censored])
    2: Snow Storm, very good to keep the mobs in your Ice Slick/Freezing Rain and for AV fights.
    3: Steamy Mist, nice res (to limited dmgtypes tho) and stealth....throw super speed in your build and you're invisible to mobs ('cept snipers and such). Don't slot the def aspect of it.
    4: Freezing Rain, very nice -res, -def, slow power + it has knockdown..WINNAR! (don't ever slot it for dmg!!)
    5: Hurricane, one of the best accuracy debuffs in the game and will save your life on many an occasion...and it's fun
    6: Lightning Storm, good dmg, nice debuff and stun....great power.

    Useful:
    1: Tornado, pretty good dmg, excellent for AV fights, pretty good panicbutton. Seriously consider taking Frostbite if you plan on taking this 'cos the knockback (or more like knockallovertheplace!) is pretty insane.

    Has it's uses:
    1: o2 Boost, small single target heal. Personally kept Jack alive a lot longer with this one + it has a very handy resistance to enddrain so excellent for fighting malta.

    Limited Use:
    1: Thunder Clap, PbAoE stun that stuns only minions and has a horrid animationtime....looks well cool though


    hmm, this got a little longer than expected but hope you can use it?

  3. A few things:

    You "need" 3 of the best rad powers there are (surprised you don't even have them for PvE since they're great there too??) which are:

    Radiation Infection: Eliminate some of the threat since they can't hit you. (slot 3 tohit debuffs and throw in def debuffs and/or recharge/end red if you have the slots.)

    Enervating Field: You take less dmg, they take more..simple as that. (slot with 2 end reds and maybe a recharge or range if you have the slots)

    Lingering Radiation: Really good power in PvE and awesome in PvP, one of the best -regen, -recharge, slows in the game (slot 2 acc, 3 recharge and maybe a end red)

    Fly: I love fly but it's probably the "worst" travelpower in PvP. It's slow, theres a lot -fly powers out there, uses a lot of end and the suppression is horrific

    Don't have much else 'cept the things stated by others.

    Mmmm , i just got my Empath after a years work to the required lvl and was going to try her out for a change instead of my usual place in the PA team.

    If we are short on the night for PA droppers (we had 2 teams last time) i'll bring on Hib instead of Empath.

    I know PA dropping can be somewhat boring but we really need you guys. As Mesmer said we played a major part in the succes of the last raid.

    I'll try to come up with some games we can play while dropping like crazy if you want?
  8. Every way you go you will have a very nice combo.

    Most dmg: fire/kin (and you have to be very active!)

    Most control: fire/storm (but you probably need a buffer since you will use endurance like f**k

    Bit of both: fire/rad

    I've more or less played all troller combos and I have to say that fire/kin was the most fun

    IMO most trollers should have a pre 30ish build and a "finalised" build thereafter; For me personally i used Ring of fire for dmg (2 acc, 3 dmg) and slotted Char with dmg till the late teens. Of course you can just make the build you want from the start but you will have a harder time in the lowerlvls that way.

    You can do without Stamina, and it's pretty easy too, but you have to have a constant eye on your endbar + stamina is needed if you want to PvP.

    EDIT: Stamina is needed if you take Hot Feet!!

    Sure you can use Inertial Reduction instead of Super Jump and it's actually better but then you miss out on the 2 great powers Combat Jumping and Acrobatics.
    About Super Speed? I just love it...never turn it off and hasten is just too good to miss...especially with stacked Siphon Speeds
  10. You can make a decent PvP build out of it but as Imaginary said I would probably just stick to a pure PvE build since it's just so incredibly good in PvE

  12. Some friends and myself recently transfered to Union to make some villains and try them out in PvP aswell as checking out the PvPscene there.
    Have ventured out in Sirens 3 times so far (we're only in our mid 20s atm) and found it's considerably more active than Defiants counterpart. It may have been a coincidence but I've never seen Sirens on Defiant this busy 3 nights in a row

    -The leadership pool isn't essential at all even though it's nice to have. Put 2 accuracies into your attacks (even if you have tactics)
    -You don't need recharges in Spectral Terror since it's perma unless you want to spam it everywhere (you can still only have 1 out). Another fear or a range would be much better in this one.

    -Blind, go with 2 acc, 3 recharges and 1 hold dur. You want to spam this.

    -Deceive isn't very handy for PvP, it can be alright but this could maybe be one of the powers you could drop (more on this later)?

    -Snow Storm, Either lose the 2nd slow or put a recharge in instead. It maybe sounds a bit odd with a recharge but it's very handy for when your target moves out of range and you need to reapply it. Works wonders in Siren's.

    -Hasten, Put 3 recharges in here if you can get the slots.

    -Super Speed, swap 1 run speed for 1 end reducer and leave it on all the time.

    -Freezing Rain, The def debuffs really isn't needed but if you haven't got anything else to use the slots for then go ahead. I would say 2-3 recharges and 1 red (put def debuffs in it if you have the slots.)

    -Phantom Army, swap the acc for another dmg...it's worth it + pets have a very high baseaccuracy.

    -Health, take hurdle instead and slot it if you can. Movement is your friend and will save you a lot more than health will.

    -Hurricane, 2 end reds is enough

    -Thunderclap, needs acc if you take it. Wouldn't recommend it though. Lousy accuracy and you need to be very close to your target and a horrid animationtime that will kill you before you stun/toggledrop anyone most of the time. Maybe take Steamy Mist instead for some fire, cold and energy resistance which are not that common dmg types in PvE but very common on PvP + resistance to confuse.

    -Hover, not good for PvP,simply too slow, remember movement will save you. Drop this power.

    -Phantasm, he's ok for 1 vs. 1s but simply too slow for teamfights. Drop it IMO.

    -Tornado, awesome in PvP. Get some more slots in here if you can. 3 dmg, 1 rech, 2 ends is probably the optimal slotting in this build.

    -Lightning Storm, another awesome PvP power. Swap the acc for an end red and consider swapping 1 rech for dmg?

    -Epics, always have 2 acc in your attacks. And I would probably got with the Primal Epic instead since You have enough damage in Storm and it gives way for Power Boost and Conserve Power.

    I would seriously suggest that you go for the leaping pool. SJ is probably the best travelpower for PvP + CJ and acro are just too good to leave out.
    Drop Deceive, Health, Thunder Clap and Phantasm and get Steamy Mist, Combat Jump, Super Jump and Acrobatics instead.

    You will basically only need 1 for PvE but I would seriously recommend sticking with 2 for PvP.

    Adding the hold duration makes the patch lie there longer and keep pulsing it's juicy hold (Best damn AoE hold (slap a quicksand on it) in the game if you ask me)

    Hold durations doesn't affect the duration of the power itself but the length of the hold which is a bit wasted in this power...but if you have the slots go for it...and yes...its a great hold, but EM Pulse from /rad is still the best AoE hold in the game

    Never ever slot your AoE immobilise for damage!! The damage is neglible at best. You will be using it to combine with stalagmites. It basically just needs 2 accuracies. Throw in a end reducer if you have it.
    MaXimillion may be thinking of Stone Prison which can be handy for damage at lowerlvls and can be used for AVs in the later lvls.

    Quicksand, pretty sure you will more or less hit the slowcap with 2 slows in this one so drop the 3rd slot or use it for recharge or end red.

    Combat Jumping, 3rd slot isnt really needed.

    Super Jump, 1 jump is fine in here.

    Earthquake, the tohit debuff isn't fantastic so if you need some slots consider taking some from here.

    Swift, Health, consider taking hurdle instead? slot with 2 or 3 jumps....gives you some nice maneuverability.

    Volcanic Gasses, 3 recharges is really all it needs. Not too sure about what effect the holddurations does in this since it's a pulsing hold.

    Super Speed, swap 1 run speed for end red....leave it on all the time

    Animate Stone, Pets have a very high base accuracy so 3 accuracies isn't needed, go with 1 or 2 depending on how many slots you have.

    Teleport Foe, hmm, not a very good PvE power but has its uses in PvP. I would suggest taking either Force Bolt as a nice defensive power or Stone Prison. With a Stone Prison -> Volcanic Gasses -> Fossilize chain you can hold most AVs within 5 seconds.

    Force Bubble, think 2 end reds should do it.

    Fireball, you want 2 accuracies in this one.

    Fireshield, get 1 or 2 end reducers in this.

    Consume and Fire Blast, maybe reverse the order you took these in? and put 2 accuracies in Fire Blast and mix accuracy with recharge in consume...you want this for endurance not for damage.

    PvP is so damn easy in this game it isn't even funny. Get a good build, get one or two tips and start having Arena matches/stepping into PvP zones. I give it about a week before you know practically everything you need to know.

    Get Teamspeak and your troubles are solved. Or take a typing class so you can type quickly in Teamchat, maybe make a few binds.
