  1. Name: The Supreme Society

Currently Recruiting: We are currently recruiting heavy Roleplayers of all levels and ATs.

RP Level: Heavy, but of course some things are better discussed OOC.

PvP Level: Light-ish. We periodically set up RP-based casual PVP events against rivals, in particular our in-house rivals The Global Guard. Please note that participation in our PvP events is highly encouraged but ultimately not required. The RP and RPvP encounters between the Society and the Guard will also be planned out when possible, either at the Monday night meetings or on the SS forums. I do want to stress though that these encounters are of a casual, fun nature, and no “pwns j00” type actions or excessive RP “drama” will be tolerated or encouraged. In addition, most of the time the encounters will have set outcomes anyway, so PVP skill level, numbers of players, or character levels will rarely be a deciding factor.

Theme/Concept: The Supreme Society is a group of comic book style supervillains, similar to DC's Secret Society/Legion of Doom or an evil version of the modern Marvel Squadron Supreme. Through annihilation of problems or assimilation of potential, they seek to remove the competition, such as local rivals in the Rogue Isles or the heroic forces of Paragon. Once this is accomplished (hey, a guy can plan longterm >.&gt and the Supreme Society is the dominant force, those operating under the Society banner will be able to go about their schemes as they please.

Activity: We have about 20 active players (many more less so) and are looking to expand. Primary hours seems to be after 9PMish, EST, but many members have different schedules.

Requirements for Membership: You must be a heavy roleplayer. Your character must be a comic book style supervillain with a sensible background. Potential recruits will go through a brief OOC/IC interview before joining.

    Leadership: Agonus

In-Game Contact(s): @The New Black, Count Logan vonDrake, Eiko-chan, Hymnal

Other Details: VG meetings are Monday nights at 10:30PM, EST. Wednesday night is a VG activity night, starting at 10PMish, EST. Said activities range from running RP missions to RP and/or RPvP encounters with rivals, that sort of thing. The base is up and fully functional. Alts are allowed, and members of the Society are allowed (and encouraged) to have a character in the Guard. We also have a private channel set up to bridge both groups.

We are also in the process of establishing a Supreme Society Junior Division known as the Teen Tyrants. The Tyrants are a separate VG coalitioned with the Society. They will be a training ground of sorts for “evil” teens, and they will work alongside and occasionally be mentored by the members Society.

    RPing Kinetics

I just started a Grav/Kin Controller, and I'm calling it an energy transference ability, covering kinetic, lifeforce, gravity, things like that.

In short Vet Rewards as a whole is a great idea and most of them are very well thought out, but dont think for a second that the Real Veterans of the "City of" Universe...

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Real Veterans"? Hehe. Thanks, I needed a laugh today.

Vet Rewards are a way to say "Thank you for sticking around. Here's a little something extra for you."

Some seem to be getting this confused with the systems meant to keep players from canceling, like the new content they keep generating. Y'know, those Issues we don't pay extra for, or the minipacks of whatnot that we do, or the services like buyable respecs. The stuff that wasn't here at Day 1.
  7. Name: The Supreme Society

Currently Recruiting: We are currently recruiting heavy Roleplayers.

RP Level: Heavy, but of course some things are better discussed OOC.

PvP Level: Light-ish. We periodically set up RP-based casual PVP events against rivals. Please note that participation in our PvP events is encouraged but not required.

Theme/Concept: A new supervillain organization, intended for those who are willing to assist in the greater goal of removing the opposition, is being formed in the Rogue Isles. What's the point of having power if you can't use it to get what you want? It's sort of a take on the modern Squadron Supreme without any pretenses of them being a force for good.

Activity: We're small with a handful of active players, but looking to expand. Primary hours seems to be after 9PMish, EST.

Requirements for Membership: You must be a heavy roleplayer. Your character must be a comic book style supervillain with at least one “comic book” costume. Potential recruits will go through an IC interview before joining. Further details can be found here .

URL: A work-in-process site can be found here.

Other Details: VG meetings are Monday nights at 10:30PM, EST. We're in the process of trying to set up VG RP mish nights Wednesdays starting at 10PM EST, which in theory would last until too many people have to log. The base is another work-in-process project.
  8. I'd love to see something like
    -Crime Boss (near Family hangouts)
    or
-Criminal Mastermind (plotting away in your VG base)
  9. This announcement makes me think that the bulk of, if not all, future content will be co-op. I think it'd be interesting if they kept the ATs to their respective “faction” but allowed them to start in Atlas, Galaxy OR Mercy, with contacts every few levels a la the VEATs to guide you along your extended hiding-out-in-enemy-territory arc. No extra PVP, mind you. And you'd probably need to have like unlocked epics on both sides to be able to do it or something. And there are more than enough demons, anti-heroes, and Lord Dark von Darkitydarks running around Paragon that it would be reasonable. Same thing with Mercy and all the anti-heroes, heroes masquerading as villains, and even heroes trying to clean up the place over there.

    [ QUOTE ]
A combined game + branching missions + create-a-mission = there are no "villains" or "heroes", there are just characters and the choices they make.

It sounds to me like CoX could evolve into something similar to Bioware RPGs, where we can slide between light and dark based on the choices we make.

    Sounds good to me!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd love to see that too, but I don't think that'll be in happening officially here. I do plan on having the bulk of my player made missions follow the multiple choice solution set up, but we'll see.
  10. We've been going through some changes. =-)

    Name: The Secret Syndicate

Currently Recruiting: We are recruiting RPers.

    RP Level: RP-heavy.

PvP Level: Light. We're starting to dabble in RP/PvP events. Participation in SS PvP related activities is encouraged but not required, and lack of participation in said events will *not* be held against members.

Theme/Concept: The Syndicate's membership is comprised of comic book style supervillains. (DC’s Crime Syndicate of Amerika as written by Grant Morrison is a good comparison for the general idea, as seen here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_Syndicate_of_Amerika )

Primarily, the Syndicate seeks to make the world a better place through population control. While the group has an ultimate goal that can be achieved through a myriad of ways, members of the Syndicate also have a variety of personal goals. To name a few; amassing personal wealth, world domination, having associates watch their back while they conduct experiments, or simply breaking stuff.

Activity: We have about 6 active members. Primary VG hours seems to be about 9PM to 2AM, EST.

    Requirements for Membership:
-Potential members must go through an IC interview with one of the SS leaders to be brought into the group on an IC basis.
-A RP background is required at the time you join the group. The only character background requirement is that your character is a supervillain. (Y'know, like Magneto, the Joker, Poison Ivy, Lex Luthor, Black Adam, Cheetah, Mr. Freeze, Darkseid, the Green Goblin, Blackfire, Venom, Killer Frost, Sebastian Shaw, etc, etc.)
-The only visual requirement for characters is a "costume" your character must have when they join.
Tights and/or a cape are encouraged but not required. Really though, the costume can be anything from comic-book tights and a cape to armor to a gimmick outfit like big-game-hunter garb to a stylized military-esque uniform or whatever. It's pretty opened ended, but if you have any questions, by all means please ask us.
And your character only needs to have one "costume" for the Syndicate. Your other costume slots can be used as you please.

Leadership: Nemesis Red, General Xano, and Count Logan vonDrake

Out-of-Game Contact(s): The forums on the SS website.

    URL: The Secret Syndicate

Other Details: Alts are allowed in the group. VG meetings are Monday nights at 10:30PM, EST. Rank is based on activity, and works in reverse as well. Members can lose their ranking positions due to inactivity.
  11. Name: The Secret Syndicate

Currently Recruiting: The Syndicate is now recruiting. Applicants will have to go through an OOC prepped IC interview before fully joining.

RP Level: Heavy. OOC chatter is not discouraged or anything though.

PvP Level: Not much. Some of us dabble a little.

Theme/Concept: A small group of comic book supervillains that have banded together in secret to further their own goals. Kinda like these guys. See here too.

Activity: Primarily 10PMish, to about 2AMish, EST. We're small, with around 3-5 regulars and a few others. Looking to expand a bit though, hence the posting.

Requirements for Membership: All I really ask is that your character has either a comic booky costume or a codename. (Both would be great but are not necessary.) No AT, origin or level requirements.

    Leadership: Nemesis Red and Gabijah

Contact(s): See above, also EvilMidniteGamer here on the CoH/CoV boards.

    URL: www.guilduniverse.com/thesecretsyndicate
It's a work in progress, please pardon the dust.

    Coalition(s):
    Injustice-Knights
    Jesters of Chaos
    Menace X
    Underground Entertainment

Other Details: Rank is based on activity. The more frequently we see you're on, the higher you will be ranked.
  12. Eh, why not.

We're a new and still fairly small SG in CoV.

    Name: The Horsemen.

Motto: Destroying the world to make it a better place.

Leader(s): Black Judge (which would be me.)

    Player Type: casual

RolePlay?: It's encouraged, but no one does much as of yet.

    Membership levels: currently 5-22

    SuperGroup Colours: Black and Red

Normal time of Gameplay: Late day and evenings mostly.

Other information: The group is themed after the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, but there's more than four us...you get the idea.

Recruiting?: Always, any levels and types. Send me a tell if interested.

Website: No, but if anyone wants to join and whip one up, more power to you.
  13. wha-?! the blood widow helmet is female only? that's not so cool. i don't have an aversion to making a female character ( i actually prefer to do so) but that nixes what i had in mind. granted i didn't get the idea until yesterday, but oh well.

yeah, i know it's a free incentive, but i question the logic here though.
first they announce the pre-order, mentioning 2 of the possible incentives. they have to know full well many people, (myself included) will pre-order as soon as they can.

THEN they announce the other 2 incentives, and clarify they're all gender specific?
