    Probably Gun Kata.
    And it won't happen.
    Scrappers = Melee
    Blasters = Ranged
    Pistols set = ranged

There is little to no point of having a pistol and not firing it.
And in the case of firing it, while a ranged/shield AT would be so much win, I dont know when or even if theres a chance of us getting one.

I know the feeling. Once cut, and all that.
I still cackle when I boot up my old lvl 50 invul tanker, is all. He is nigh unkillable. And Im on vanilla IOs with a few sets in attacks. Hardly purpled out.

Trust me, I played 50 levels of Invuln Brute.
Never had problems with Crey, Arachnos, Nemesis or Carnies with my Tank. Rikti hurt, but they hurt whoever you are on, espoecially Chief Soldiers by dint of doing ungodly ammounts of sword damage. Longbow res grenades I concur with, but they are at least locational.

Dark armour Brute, now...that was flawed heavily. Got to level 32, DB/DA. Get slaughtered by absolutely everything.

@Jabberwork: Sorry, I probably over-reacted a bit after the 'Power of Log' post. The assertion that Invul needs IOs to function is what got me. Invul was and still is good pre-IOs. Unless people do something daft like skipping a few powers or something.

I'm sorry, but what is it that people are smoking today?
Invulnerability is one of the best armour sets in the game. It has a solid self heal/+ HP, good res from the get go and a good +def aura. Add in Tough and Weave and you are laughing at about 90% of the mobs in the game. IOs just make it even more godly.

Ninjutsu I would remove the smoke flash power as well as blinding powder. I would replace those for the Turn into a Log power. Basically you set the log some where in the mission. And when your die you swap places with the log. You come back with 1/2 hp, no end but with no debt recharge 15 minutes unaffected by recharge. The other power would be shuriken throw.
    Aha...
    Ahahaha.
    KAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!

No. Just no. Invul and Ninjitsu are fine. They are MORE than fine. If you're really finding them hard to play...well, I'll keep on laughing, frankly.

Turn into a Log. A LOG. Rather than a PBAoE secondary Placate and a -hit, confuse and -preception power? Im sorry, what was it you were smoking again?

As for Invul...still my favourite solid armour set. Theres nothing wrong with it. Unless you, like, dont take most of the powers or something equally daft.

Fix/tweak stone, dark and fire armours sure. Especially the horrible KB and immob holes in fire and dark. But leave the decent sets alone, m'kay?
  7. Ok, I have some life now, the updater will connect!
However...it seems intent on downloading the *US* client, not the EU...Im clicking on the CoHUpdater.EU.exe.

Do I need to create a new location to save this to?

Edit: Nevermind! We have life! It lives!
Thanks much, Bill. Pity Im not really my avatar, this wouldn't be a problem
  8. Does simply copying the files and then placing them on another system, in this case my new PC, work? Other programs have been having teething issues, and I get the feeling I might need to re-download the entire EU client...

    Help?
  9. Currently my new PC seems to be having teething with a few files I ported over from my old laptop, glad to know that Mids should be ok, just maintenance =]
  10. The Vanguard costume pieces cost is horrible. I've mentioned it before, and I'll keep requesting for it to be lowered.

100 merits should unlock ALL the pieces. Maybe 150. The HVAS and other little gadgets already cost an ok ammount. They could even include a few new temporary powers. But the current cost is ludicrous. The only one that isnt too bad is the chest option, which not only unlocks the vanguard top but also the two chest details. Compared to the helmet, which is about 350 for three parts...mad.
  11. Point now understood and accepted. Blueside, yes, killing tends to be the last resort (a la Batman, when I think about it) The odd case or so will tie in nicely with the Vigilanteismn of GR.

Redside though? Gonna disagree. Murdering *civilians* is a no-no, yes. Background canon is that Recluse doesnt like general crimes, and tends to have whoever is envolved paid a visit by someone rather nasty. After all, without his citizens, he hasn't got much of an empire. But getting fussed over a Destined On culling off Longbow? Luddittes? Wyvern? And even extending to people in Paragon? I don't think he'd so much as bat an eyelid.
Yes, it's still 'wrong' to the in-game society and world. Doesn't mean that Villains are going to be holding back the way Heroes do. And that should be down to IC player choice/character choice.

It's very difficult to justify killing someone. Films and telly does it but not, as far as I'm concerned, without glamorising it in some way.
    Uh...what?
Redside has none of the conotations blueside has. You're a villain. Whatever level you want to take it to. Sure, you could just be a vigilante who ended up on the wrong side of the line. Or your a raging psycho with a log sized chip on your shoulder and a penchant to kill any idiot who gets in your way.

There is at least one arc redside (Seer Marino) where you actively kill one of the main NPCs in it (Huntsman, can't remember his name). It even says so in the mission completion.

There's even villain side paper missions where it talks about getting stuff from a dead hero, who died due to teleport failure, and got ripped a new one by whichever gang he/she was after.

RP and Game mechanics are best treated as seperate enteties. Booby trapped ones. Its such a freakin minefield. But I find more RL applications tend to suit RP, especially forum RP, much better.
  13. Hmm. Shinies.

Although, dear god, where did you dredge up that Bolter picture from? It's ANCIENT! Like...not as bad as front loaded mags but nearly as bad Oo
  14. We need ambient zone music, first. Not some piddly little clip that fades out after a few seconds. There is some really GOOD music in the game, they just don't do it justice...

    Stacking -defs. Every. Freaking. Attack.
Even their thrown spears (Pilum's, for you history bods) have -def.

Vanguard are death for Res toons.
Cimerorans are death for Def toons.
Rikti tend to splatter anything without discrimination (i'm looking at you, Chief Soldiers)
  18. Cimerorans are nasty.
Claws/Ninja stalker. Confuse the mob, then tear out the surgeons spine. Try rezzing that, ya sparta-wannabe...

  20. It has one move that does KB, and one that does KD.

The only problem I find with MA is that, pre-stamina, it's horrendously end expensive. And I mean horrendous, like, reesting after every mob horrendous. MA/SR scrapper, level 15 so far. AND she's slotted for accuracy and end reduction, something I never do except on Brutes, and she still struggles.

    That said...its an awesome set.
  21. Devices.

I pretty much agree with Dispari (although I do find Taser useful)
Overall, most of my gripes come from low-mid level endurance balancing issues on most sets, rather than particular problems. Around lvl 12-20 it gets really rather bad.
  22. Kudos to whoever made the awesome badge art, and kudos to the Dev team for continually churning out great stuff for a great game.
  23. Question:

Is it possible/likely that you could give players proper control over Non-Custom characters? Or to at least let us save them locally as well as on the MA server?

    Customisation meaning;

-Being able to set the mob level range (My Heart of Steel arc currently has the level ranges all out of whack with no means of fixing them)
-Being able to save costume colour data.

Also, can we please be allowed to remove custom mobs from Custom Groups? At present all we get is 'Base group', making it hard as hell to customise groups with ease.
