It was tested up and down during c/beta and the pact remains intact after the side switch by one of the bound toons. It's probably in the p/notes somewhere.

Quote:Who are you kidding?
Champion Drama back THEN made this look like a campfire sing along.
Nah, just look at the transcript of all the big 04-05 SG leaders coming together to tackle what turned out to be an issue on all the other servers,
those folks tried to help the whole game 'community' before the tech was added to enable complete /hide.
Bert, Ring, Uman, Marut, Ranma, and everyone else on the boards and in-game, those were fun gaming times.
Quote:Until you have Stryker posting with his infamous dingdong avatar, you don't have drama.
Stryker/VORI and all that mess from 2006-on sure brought the drama train. -
That's what the psychokinesis ray gun is for.
You really should use it more often. Remember how peaceful and fun this place used to be when we ran it back in the day, mildly hallucinogenic telekinetic stimulation just isn't practiced anymore. -
Quote:I hereby propose that Champion server be henceforth known as the bacon cupcake and Bruce Campbell server.
All in favor?
Sorry Champs already the Mead and Pie server, I think a constitutional amendment would be needed for that change. And good luck getting the the required signatures since everyone's drunk and throwing up from all the pie. -
D = C2P (D is DRAMAs, C is coefficient, P is people - DRAMA is defined as the likelihood of a dramatic incident in a given time frame).

Quote:How about the extra alliteration of "beefsteak and bullets"?
Oooh, it's soo 'working class', I love it.
I'm also at a loss over SP's crash and burn. Where are all the tweens who plopped 300mill of moms money down for that Twilight tripe.
All the way down to #10 in a single week, I guess there has to be something to the Cera disdain..?
edit, this made me chuckle:

Quote:While you're correct Dersk, you're under the mistaken impression that the first posters utterances are debatable. They have spoken, end of story.
I've had more fruitful discussions with my refrigerator, over any attempt to shed actual data on the comments of said poster. Comical actually. -
Quote:Which is less relevant given as you point out,One of the advantages of selecting /TA is light on endurance usage.
Quote:Elec/ does have Conductive Aura and Static Field, two powers that provide +recovery and +end to the user.
Radiation is another good option given the ability to run many toggles with nearly no end issue, and obviously Kin works well with Elec, as it does with basically all the other primaries. -

Quote:There were more people in c/beta who agreed with your scoring of the set then would disagree for certain.* Damage: B+
* Control: D
* AoE: C-
* Utility: B
* Overall: C-
If somebody disagrees with this assessment, I'm sure they'll let me know in quite forceful terms.
My own subjective feedback after first trying the set back in June:
"Subjective- the animations are fine, in fact they're very well done, but it's all show and no pony.
I was on a 41 sd/km slotted w/ even SO and it was taking three to four attacks to defeat a simple yellow Nemesis lt.
Also, why have knock back in the set, haven't we all concluded that players generally dislike that form of mitigation.
After finally having some free time to really test the set, I'm disappointed to conclude that the initial criticisms about Kin Melee being very flashy but under performing are true as it stands right now, and I also wont be making one on live as a result, it just lacks pop."
I think it may get some type of buff down the road, but it will be no thanks to some of the "numbers enthusiasts" on the boards who spammed the Kin Melee feedback with their ardent contention that the set was basically perfect as it plays right now.
Most of them, and they know who they are, probably wont even play a KM Tank at all, as most of them hate Tankers altogether. -

its always cheaper to fix an old car than buy a new car, no matter how old the old car is. However, collectively, it can be more expensive to own an old car than buy a new car. It depends on whether you're looking at the short term or the long term.
CoH also has limitations in the entire constellation of development surrounding it. The powers system design tools has limitations, the mission editors have limitations, the animation system has really odd limitations.
In this hypothetical, I agree with arcana from the pov that green lighting a coh followup would be a more agreeable proposition to NCSoft financially if they believed there would be a net efficiency/cost improvement in Issue development.
They own the rights to the very best -build your own hero- game ever designed and implemented, which, at it's peak had only a niche sub base.
Could they improve on that, could they carry over the loyalty coh has engendered, could they recoup the production costs especially at a time when most economists are forecasting bears for 2011..
If I were sitting on a panel I'd be asking all these questions, and I'd be keenly interested in how that other hero mmo will do in their 1stQ. -
Yes it's a definite improvement over the Statesman era fire tank gutting (that moron), so it's more of a slight 'walk back' to Burns former glory, over say War Mace which was always terrible before it's suite of updates.
One nitpick some of the older crowd has over an improvement like this, is that we remember how these various powers and mechanics used to work, and the current Burn even with this buff is a marshmallow campfire comparatively.
At the risk of uttering a totally pointless statement, a pre-i5 fire/mace tank with 50% HO's would obliterate an i19-fully pvp io'd/purpled-Incarnate- shield/ss by every measurable metric. -

Quote:Castle.I don't suppose anyone has done a dps comparo for FA tanks pre/post FE changes?
Take the following example:
You are a level 40 Tanker and have Greater Fire Sword 3 slotted with SO's (95% for easier math), you hit Build Up, Fiery Embrace and happen to have a Damage Inspiration running for another 25% damage bonus.
Old damage:
Lethal: 154.74 (1*(1+0.95+0.8+0.8+0.25)=3.8*table lookup)
Fire: 234.55 (1.44*(1+0.95+0.8+1.0+0.25)=5.76*table lookup)
Total: 389.29
New damage:
Lethal: 177.14 ((1*1.45)*(1+0.95+0.8+0.25)=4.35*table lookup)
Fire: 255.08 ((1.44*1.45)*(1+0.95+0.8+0.25)=6.265*table lookup)
Total = 432.22
That's an extra 43 damage.
If you happen to be running with a Kin with Fulcrum Shift, it would not be uncommon for you to be at the damage cap, in which case the old Fiery Embrace would not help you at all and the new Fiery Embrace would have you running at nearly 45% greater damage output while it was active. -
Quote:I still think it should ge tsome KB protection, but... I'll take what we're getting.
If FA is to get anymore attention, I would want TP to be turned into something generally thought of as useful. I don't care about the KB hole because there are ways to address it without skipping a beat in whatever you want your build to do.
Somehow I feel the Brute/Tanker issues aren't completely settled with Castle, so if he revisits melee in i19 c/b it will be interesting to see what he's willing to contemplate. -
War Mace, Battle Axe, and Broad Sword.
The same copy/paste animations for each set.
I think something overhead coming down to the ground for the alternate tier nine attack would work for all three. -
Btw, I was looking through a couple of Castles comments during c/b and I remembered this one, thought I'd share:

Quote:If the break point for you is the rewards, then you really didn't know what the purpose of AE was supposed to be.
Oooo, it's dead horse beatin Monday, I want a turn!
Matt Miller said you would be able to level via MA the very same way you would with dev content from 1 through 50, all while exploring the limits of your, and everyone else's, creativity.
Initially there was XP parody between MA content and dev content.
They didn't get how A LOT of players would use this tool (though they were told endlessly during c/beta), and then they reacted in a way that was harsh enough to sour many subscribers on the new feature.
Apparently the argument is always that players who want comparable rewards to time spent in MA over dev content, are like greedy football players who should just take the pay cut and realize they're on a good team.
Blah blah blah. -

Unless PS announces around DCUO's launch that they've begun work on a followup to City Of Heroes and offer loyalty perks for those who remain subbed during it's development. Win, win.
