  1. Reasonably certain that if it's derivative work - ie, 'inspired by,' then you're safe. As is public domain stuff. But if the contact is Superman, who's trying to get you to help recover the kryptonite ring Lex Luthor has... yeah, that's not good.

    You're a ******* superhero, Fulmens. I mean it. A one-man's anarchist's soup kitchen.
  3. Doesn't seem to be a bad idea, per se - though it leaves me asking 'what about stored slots?'
  4. Simply put, people who don't understand economics try to think of ways to 'fix' it.

Any person who thinks a solution to any problem is simple has, as a subtextual idea, the notion that the people in charge are morons.
  5. A fairly minor point, but defenders get Mass Hypnosis. That's very, very nice for setting up Rains of Arrows.

Though technically he won the bid because $2.50 has real value and any amount of inf. you care to name does not (meaning you can go to McDonalds and buy a couple double cheeseburgers with $2.50, they do not accept influence as legal tender there)
They really should put up a sign about that. Worst birthday party ever.

    You too?

And by '10x what I wanted to pay' I mean '10x the last 5 in history, and still didn't get the damn thing.' Redside sucks. :|

The movie is called Super Troopers. It's very, very good, and to my surprise, I could not find the original gag on youtube. Really good movie, very funny - but sophomoric.

A weathy businessman seeks to hire a killer to avenge the loss of his granddaughter Hope.

I found this arc in the Dev's Choice Suggestion thread and I can see why it was recommended. It is a dark arc that does an excellent job of conveying the theme of hopelessness suggested by the title. If you are in the mood to play something dark, I definitely recommend this arc.
When I abandoned my arc review thread, I did so after feeling that the natural selection process of the arc system meant that if I did not personally pimp and advocate for my arc - and aggressively push for attention, it wouldn't get any. I stopped making arcs, barring for two or three private-showing things, and I just figured the AE was a dead field only useful for when my immediate friends asked me to look into it.

So I was really freaking surprised that, when completely out of the blue, without any prompting from me, Arrow sent me a tell. It was a really touching thing to find that someone was looking through the 4-stars and looking at that stuff.

Honestly, I haven't seen anyone claim that it bogs down their computer. I've only seen it raised as a possibility for other hypothetical people.
Happened to me. When the market first hit, accessing the market was to be done on a clean login only; move to the market, log out, log in, use market, log back in, use market, hooray.

Then I upgraded, and it became less unreliable, but still a 50/50.

Now, my computer is all super nifty and all that, but I don't imagine I'm the only person who had problems with the market interface, and I doubt everyone who has those problems has had them upgrade so readily.

lol I've never seen the BM or Wentworths to be as laggy as people claim.
Perhaps you have a better computer and internet connection than those people who have lag problems. Isn't it possible, indeed, isn't it likely, that some people are subjected to this problem and not simply making it up?

  18. Yeah, who can believe someone new to an area who thinks they know everything and have the weight to make imposing, sweeping changes as though they're definitely right.

Oh, wait, we're talking about AEbaby idiots. Uh, yeah. Those are terrible.
  19. Great single target control and damage, a nice AOE (not able to say whether Frost Breath is all that nice), permadoms cheaply and puts a partridge in your pear tree. You won't bring the team-based absolute control that you could with a set like Earth/ or the like, but you have more useful corner stuff and don't run the risk of overcontrolling.

I didn't say 'fake' enough for you, did I?
  21. Depends what you wanna farm. Solo, without a lot of investment, I find that the 5th Column Overthrow is a very reliable arc to solo, and I imagine that Fire/WP would do excellently at that.

Can a shield tanker successfully tank this TF without an outside mez protection power or constantly having to monitor the state of that power?
    ?
  24. This reliable? When I build for ranged defence on a character, I try to ensure I can leverage it - usually with hover, or an AOE immobilize. Repulsion Field looks like an interesting possible approach.

Anyone got any experience wedding Ranged def with Repulsion Field?

If you can leave something untouched for sixty days, just how much can you have valued it? Just how important could it possibly have been to you if you could post it and not check it for sixty days? Have not used the market on that character at all for sixty days?

Real life getting in the way, sure - deployments and whatnot do, in fact, happen. But at the same time, is your fake parts of your fake toys in a fake auction house in a fake world really something that merits this high rhetoric?

I guess my thought on the matter is, if it mattered to you, you'd have paid some attention. Same is true of those people who deliberately made farms and failed to read the text saying they shouldn't make farms. You have nobody to blame for your own behaviour but yourself. And the 'punishment' for your ignorance is clearly very minor.
