That said - I think that dev statement is greatly unfair. It's like complaining about the gas mileage of American cars by pointing at one of those jet-powered funnycars that burns, what, 20-30 gallons a second or something. Yes, it's an extreme example of the work that would be needed. And I don't think it'd be argued that it WOULD be a lot of work - but using it as a reason NOT to? Poor.

If the Shard were revamped, I'd expect it to be a (long delay) issue of its own, with corresponding events and contacts in both Paragon and the Isles. (Whether it would touch Praetoria... I don't know. I think it'd be a bit odd to.)

Of all the old hazard zones, I'd like to see (in order)
    - Perez. Just chop down the damn forest. Really. War Witch, dear, you mentioned relocating mission entrances, so why do my level 10s get sent deep into the maze, while my 40-50s get missions around the edge?

    - Dark Astoria. SO. MUCH. STORY that could be done in here! So much potential! A three way supernatural war, for all intents and purposes (or two way with the Tsoo stuck in the middle - see "Tsoo Faced" in AE. It's old, but there.) I've wanted to see this redone for so long, really building on the atmosphere and exploring its history!

    - Crey's... I'm "eh" about. Mostly because it just needs "something there," but it - to me - has never been all that inspiring of a zone. OTOH... Praetorian/Primal DE meetup in this toxic wasteland...

    - Boomtown. One, I want the "Destined for valHalla" left alone but other than that, I'd love to see a multi-issue progression done here, reclaiming the zone, showing some progress. Threw a proposal about that up over a year ago, still wouldn't mind seeing it.
    I concur!

So then would I need to buy this twice to get the whole shebang? I'm confuzzled. Or could I pre-order the 'Complete Collection' one to get everything?
I would assume pre-order the Complete Collection. The wording was wierd, yes, but I would assume both are up for pre-order on March 2nd.
  3. Sure as heck delete the Security Chief 'mission'.
He does NOTHING! One Hunt mission? Thats a Jack throw-back if ever I saw it...
  4. Also, all the ranting about 'it's easy to get to 20!'...Well...yeah, because you know how to. A new player will NOT have that knowledge, unles they ask around and study up. In which case they are probably bright enough to either figure out or learn how the EATs work best.

That much is certain fact. Unless they've changed that since Herocon.

    Also, I just want to point this out;
Is everyone 100% sure that Dual pistols and Demon Summoning are free content? Because last time I checked, it seemed like they were being included in Going Rogue. NOT an Issue.

Now, I may very well be wrong on that. But just throwing it out there, into the sea of speculation. Because it seemed that way in the Herocon vids. *goes to check again*

Edit: Yup. "Two new powersets in Going Rogue." 05:50 in the vid here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SItM3OLqb5w

Ergo, Dual Pistols are Demon Summoning are GR powersets, as I thought from when that vid came out.

The simple answer is everyone .. as they are breaking the codes of the society that they live in , remember where Paragon is …

    From the internet ..
The last execution in Rhode Island was in 1930 and the death penalty was abolished in 1984.
..and I don’t remember anything in Game to refute this .
Well, yeah...but who's to say 'Everyone' is right? This all gets into 'What IS right?' and suchnot. Is it more of a crime to kill a killer than to let him slaughter more people? The letter of the law might say so. What about the 'spirit' of the law, and justice? In my opinion, thats the sort of line that the Vigilante walks along, and sometime crosses over.

    Yeah, they all play WoW...

Most people play video games to have fun and enjoy themselves. To the vast majority of people, accomplishing goals, especially difficult ones, is fun and rewarding.

My point still stands. A reward is meaningless without an effort to obtain it. Most people that play MMO's want, or even need goals, they want challenges that have to be overcome, and to be rewarded for what they do.

They now need to remove the "Epic" label and just make them available at level 1 as just another AT for each side.

As I said before, I don't really care if its 20 or not, but the defense people are using for lowering the levels is just ridiculous. A casual player can get to 50 within a few weeks now. If you work at it, it can easily be done in under a week. A recent example is a new toon I rolled up, played him a couple hours a night and am now 47 and created him 19 days ago. Mostly Task Force xp, with a few sessions of radio missions thrown in.
This is your opinion. Not everyone has the same opinion.

Not saying you're 'wrong'. But I dont get how either side can really claim to be 'right'.
    It's all subjective anyway.

I've had a level 50 both sides for a long time now.
And I still haven't rolled a Kheld that I've kept. On the other hand, I have 3 VEATs.

They will appeal to some, and not to others. Whats why I still think we will see 'inferior' ATs still used when GR hits, because certin types suit certain playstyles.

I personally enjoy VEATs more than HEATs. That said, I've seen some very good Khelds, I like the story behind them and I think they look cool. Thye just don't quite gell with my playstyle, is all.

Should they be some 'uber leet grind-for-gear' style AT? No. For every 'n00b' that unlocks them, there will be someone willing to take the time over them and do it 'right'.
And hey, if people do end up complaining about them being 'not leet', maybe they'll get another looking at and some more buffing, tweaking and polishing?

No, the Complete Edition has CoH/V AND GR in it. As in, it's the 'Complete' game
Which means 30 days free playtime for those of us who have the game already.
  14. Gnuh?!
Curse you, Uni net! I want to log in an check this, but I cant!
  15. The thing is, it all gets very subjective.
I'm probably going to be wandering into grey territory with Wolf as well, given how much his mind-set has darkened since the 2nd Rikti War.

    The main thing is, I guess;
Who says the Vigilante's are actually wrong?
Yes, an eye for an eye is not the most efficient form of justice ever. However, who's to say someone who kills, say, a mass murderer, when the court and justice system refuse to do so; who is to say s/he is wrong? They've probably saved the lives of many other people and potential victims. They may be judged 'wrong' by having 'stooped to the level of evil' and all that.

It depends on the character. If they get to the point where they are killing with the view 'I am right, I am above the law' and not listening to any plea against this, then thats treading the line between Vigilante and Villain.
On the other hand, you have those who kill villains, fully accepting they are doing so, with the view of 'Better the guilt on the head of one man than on the head of many."

I'm now rambling but, it's complicated. Always will be.
  16. The Devs have said for a long time now that making the EATs unlock at 50 was 'a major mistake'.
The definition of 'Epic' that the playerbase seems to have is not the same one the Devs have, irrc. 'Epic' in this sense is 'tied hevily to the canon and with their own story'.

    Now, yes, arguably the VEATs didnt really pull off the story part. However, there are any number of reasons the EATs are getting unlocked at 20 now;

    -More accessible
-Less of an 'Elitist' or 'Grind for the good stuff' feel
-Potential to add more EATs in future with less hassle about 'Oh, but they unlock earlier than 50, no fair!'

This game has always been less about the grind and more about enjoying the diversity and variations along the way. Which is probably a good thing, and why this game is still unique when compared to others out there.

  19. The Devs decided AE was broken. Well, no, they decided the potential of getting from 1-50 within a day was ludicrously broken.
    So they fixed it.

That has nothing to do with any 'player cartel' on the forums.
Hell, me and my friends still use AE. Are we breaking some sort of self-imposed law that AE is dead?

Did someom mention an ignore button..?

I'm not going to get into some stupid Socrates evaluation of the word "Cheapen" vs "Epic". By definition, it's been cheapened.
    Thats fair enough.
Is that a bad thing? Not everyone is going to think so. For new players, it will give the sense of having achieved something. It brings them closer on par to the other players, and stops the feel of having to 'grind for the good stuff'.

It will also allow some people who have been playing for a longer time and still not got a 50 to finally experience the EATs. I know of a number of people on the channels Unionside that will be happy with the change.

It's a bit like saying a Sale at a shop is a bad thing.
  21. Peoples definition of 'Epic' obviously differs heavily from the Devs'. They view it as 'tied in heavily to cannon and the in-game story'. They have also said that 'making them unlock at 50 was a major mistake'.

So they changed it. Does it cheapen it? Only if you're that narrow minded. Does it allow people far more access to cool stuff in the game? Yes. Does it make the game less 'grind for elite content'? Yes.

It also took me 15 months to get my first Hero 50, and maybe a bit longer for my Villain. And Im am glad that other casual players don't have to go through the rough ride I did to get the EATs. This was before the exp smoothing curve, and my Hero was before the debt changes. Not my idea of fun, for one thing.

  24. I think the highest non-glitch damage has to go to Inferno. When slotted and with Aim and Build Up, that puppy can burn a heckuva lot of hp.

But some of these sound win too
