Base values for primaries are stronger than the same power secondaries. This holds true for Defenders/Controllers/Corruptors as well as Blasters/Defenders and Tanks/Scrappers and Scrappers/Tanks.

It must be a mirror or something because the homepages are identical.

I have been having some speed issues for a little bit now. I suggest opening a ticket with support. They are going to walk you through a script to determine where the problem lies. If you want to save a little time, do these steps and put them in your ticket:
Answer these questions when you put in your ticket:
-How do you connect to the internet?
-Do you use DSL, cable, dial-up, satellite, or another connection method?
-Do you use any routers, hubs, or switches? If so, could you tell us the make and model of that equipment?
-Who is your Internet service provider?
-Where are you located? Your city and state/province would be helpful.
-Are you on a home, campus, business, or military network?
-Are you using a firewall application? If so, which one?
-Do you use any Internet Security Applications (ISA) such as CYBERsitter, "Net-Nanny," ZoneAlarm®, McAfee® or Norton™?
As well as doing a HiJack This
1. Download the program HijackThis from the following link:
http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html
2. Click the “Do a system scan and save a logfile” button.
3. Once the scan is complete, a text logfile will appear in Notepad. Save this file to your Desktop.
(Attach this file to your support ticket)
Then do Ping Plotter for them:
There is a free trial program called PingPlotter Standard that may be of some use to us in determining the health of your Internet connection while playing City of Heroes. We ask that if you are using a router, hub, or switch, to first disconnect this device and connect directly to your modem before running this utility. You may have to reboot your modem and/or computer to reestablish your Internet connection. This program is not supported by NCsoft. You can find the program and information on how to use it at http://www.pingplotter.com/download.html
Please follow these instructions to run this test for us:
1. Go here: http://www.pingplotter.com/download.html
2. Click "Ping Plotter Standard" and save that file to your desktop
3. Run the file you just saved and install the program
4. Open Ping Plotter
5. Find the "Address to Trace" section in the upper-left corner of the program window
6. Input the IP address and then click "Trace"
-If you play on Freedom, Infinity, Liberty, Pinnacle, Triumph, or Victory, type in the IP: 216.107.248.3
-If you play on Champion, Guardian, Justice, Protector, or Virtue, type in the IP: 216.107.240.3
7. Launch City of Heroes and play the game for at least 30 minutes
8. Once the 30 minutes has elapsed, please switch over to PingPlotter and click the "Stop" button.
9. Click on "File," then "Save Sample Set" and save the file to your desktop

Quote:Ok, for one, If you haven't come into your own by 39 (which the OP states), I don't think epics are going to do it for you.I totally understand the drive to level 50, the lower levels are an unnecessary and frustrating grind. You realize that so many powersets and archetypes only 'Come Into Their Own' at a particular level, or it takes 25 levels before you get the 'Defining Power' of the set or some crap like that.
This whole 'Journey to level 50' ...play for 800 hours and get to 50 is not for everyone.
I think what players may be realizing is that the majority of people really don't like that 'Journey' to level 50, simply because in most MMORPGs after you do it once it isn't fun.
By playing in the AE those players can see every single Map Type and Monster Type that the game has to offer. What are they supposedly missing out on really? Not a thing, in my view.
No one said 800 hours, but for a first character to 50, I think somewhere greater than 80 hours might not be too bad of an idea.
Not debating you on the journey, because it's an opinion, but you say it yourself once you have done it, the OP clearly states he hasn't done it.
As for seeing every single map type and monster type, that is just wrong. There are many many maps you cannot see in AE at all, heck start with the first one. Ever see a AE mission in Breakout? I sure havent? Monster types? Look at the exploit list for a bunch you cannot see.
Maybe he isn't interested in all that, and hey, that's cool, its his sub, but if he is going to say he is desperate for a 50 in a public forum then people have the right to ask why. -

And one good thing about that JetPack, you keep it even when you exemp down.

Definitely open a ticket on it. They will have you go through a lot of steps to prove that it isn't your PC. Answer these questions when you put in your ticket:

I believe its Return to Vampyr Mountain Run the first mission and if you don't get enough vamps in your first pass, drop and repeat.
-
All the wolves count for the badge.
If you can get a couple people with you, it goes pretty fast.
There's also a flashback mission that you can use via Ouroboros that's all vampires which knocks it out quick. -
Definitely get Mids as was suggested. Just because you have one Luck of the Gambler (LotG) set doesn't mean you can't do another.
Then ask youself "What can I do better?"
You take too much damage? Get something that ups your defense or your regen.
Run out of end? There's a set for that.
Powers take too long to recharge? There's a set for that.
Mids has a feature called "Set Bonus Finder" that will help you find a set to give you whatever you want. -
Spines/Wp is a good choice. Lots of good AoE early and some nice single target damage as well. Throw a little speed boost on yourself, and boom there you go.
-
That's usually the case with all the anti-farming methods, that's one reason I am so against them.
-
I am seeing it for both east and west, but like you its further up the pipe. I'd suggest opening a ticket with support (I have one open myself) Hopefully if enough of us document it, they may do something about it.
-
I'm starting to fool around with them now, though I did notice some that seemed a little bit funny. I think it's going to be a what you make of it thing.
-
See, if you don't even know what you like, then what would you do with the 50 you get?
I think everyone should get at least one 50 the old fashioned way before they start worrying about speed. Sometimes it's about the ride, not getting to the destination as quick as you can. -
The quickest way to 50 is to make a left turn at Albuquerque, or was it a right turn?
Why are you so desperate? Sure you'll unlock an Epic, but you are no more likely to play them past 39 than any other character. Plus, what feeling of accomplishment will you have when someone else is doing it for you?
The best way is to find someone you like to play, and keep playing them. Things speed up in the 40's and once you get there, you will make 50 before you know it. -
I don't think that's the case. The cap is not on the map, its on the mission, and on every mission.

Quote:Where do the packets drop for you? I have been getting a lot at llnw.net specifically iad.llnw.net.I too am having issues with the East Coast servers. I have even run ping plotter and seen that the packets are not dropping at my end but at the far end.
I logged into every server last night and ran netgraph... Sure enough every east coast server shows packet loss. -
I have been getting some of those issues. What happens when you run a /netgraph 1 in game?

There are many story arcs for heroes, but one thing you should be aware of that is different from villains is that the hero contacts like to make you travel. While most villain contacts will typically send you within their own zone, hero contacts have no problem sending you from Peregine Island to Kings Row, and unlike Villains, you don't have a single transport that takes you to the majority of zones you want to go to.
The Epic AT has it's own contact that will get you started with some missions as well as your specific contact depending on your origin. There are some unique missions there, depending on your contact, and they will pass you on to another that you can use to continue on. Prof Backfire also listed a good number of Zone Arc that you can run, and some of those are quite entertaining. Your regular contacts will send you in to those zones to run missions, but they are not mandatory. -
Functionally the trial is no different than the regular game. If you are crashing there is another issue you are having. Take a look in the Tech Support forums and they can help you get over your issue.
