Not meaning to break up the reply pyramid.
after checking out test server, and seeing how bland and boreing it is. Ive decided to say goodbye as well.
Hopefully when GR comes, it wont be as bland, as i would so want to see my broot running around in Atlas.
and, as most all other bored out of their mind CoH players say, Don't miss the game, just the people.
have fun, play hard.

anybody up for one tonight, or any sort of Merit crunch?
-
Yea, i have NO early clue as to why i thougt it was going to be monday .
I feel like an idiot for reading that wrong... I could have used the merits, lol -
Im kinda in the same boat. I came back to CoH because of the Architec. I thought it would be a sweet alternative to the same old same $h!t storys that the devs made at launch.
and then they take it all way, and nerf it to the point to where its really not enjoyable, etal.
same boat as you B.B., i may not come back to the next launch, but i fear i may be as disapointed as i was the last 4 issues. yea, they all had their perks, but the joy only lasted for like 2 weeks.
Ive been playing EVE for a good bit of time, so much content that i havn't even broken the surfance in the nearly 3 years ive played it. I guess that comes from a single develeper that dosn't have to develop 6+ other games at the same time. I get the same boreing fealing for nealy all of NCs games.
Good Luck, and have fun.

I don't remember any Doritos either. We are a strictly alcohol only server. Just ask Karl Rove Man....

I ran CoH on Win7 fine, but i had problems at first, mainly with the updater, i had to edit the registry for CoH several times, in addition to making sure the updater shortcut was correct and setting it as read only.
the only standing issues i had were getting graphics settings to lock. I had to just override a few settings from the nvidia control panel. -

yes, I was a long time AMD guy. but thats changed, Intel and AMD made bad choices this year, From Intels desicision to stop Nvidia from making chipsets, to AMD outsourcing their manufaturing processes.

The bolded part is not really correct. AMD spun off their foundery into a new company, Global Foundries. AMD owns the controlling interest in Global Foundries(GF). And currently, GF only produces AMD silicon. All the process and equipment that made AMD cpu's is still making AMD cpu's.
Here.

well, not total outsourcing, I'll admit, the problem with GF is that AMD (last i heard) will only hold a 45% stake in GF, they need 51% stake to claim ownership.
AMD itself is really only going to be R&D. and they'll just ship the blueprints to GF. my major problem with this, is less quality control.
because now, you'll be buying AMD designed chips, not AMD designed and manufactured. one of AMDs best things was their quality control, now, with that being a bit shady, well, its shady.

Let me take a different tack here, what to avoid in store bought PCs.
"Slim line" cases as they don't take standard size video cards.
Less than 2GB of memory.
Vista Basic.
Integrated Graphics from Intel, nVidia, or ATI.
Intel CPUs that start with E2xxx or E4xxx.
AMD Phenom processors (not Phenom II) that end in 00 like a 9100.
Narrow down the systems you are considering and come back and ask our opinion on what's left.

Id like to add to this..
avoide the new Intel i7.
Yes, its their best and new processor, but Intel made (imo) a very bad move by stoping Nvidia from making compatable chipsets.
and also, avoid the next generation of AMD chips.
