Quote:Thanks, Great InfoMy thoughts on Stone after taking two of them to 50 are that there's little need to build for survivability... on pure SO's a well built Stone tank can solo tank the tower buffed Lord Recluse on the STF. That being the case, what I want is to minimize the penalties.
To accomplish that I look for primarily two things, recharge bonuses and runspeed bonuses. If you've an end heavy secondary you may want to get some recovery/end bonuses. Some sets I'd look at:
- Gift of the Ancients - 4 slot this for a recovery and endurance bonus. Use the runspeed IO as one of the 4 and you get two things you need in one set. Toss this into Rock Armor.
- Crushing Impact - 5 of these gives a 5% recharge bonus; they go nicely into melee attacks.
- Doctored Wounds - 5 of these also gives a 5% recharge bonus; toss it into Earth's Embrace.
- If you've the inf you can toss Luck of the Gambler 7.5% recharge IO's into several of your defense armors... they ARE pricey and something for you to work toward.
Now your current budget places some tight constraints; you don't have enough to fully slot the sets I listed even disregaurding the expensive IO's. I would work on the sets a piece at a time as I had the money... probably starting with the GotA sets, then Doctored Wounds followed by Crushing Impact. I usually use SO's as placeholders so the character is playable while you're trying to acquire the IO's you need. -
Looking to respec my 32 Stone SS, and looking for advice on what IO's I should be looking at, and in what powers should they go into.
So if this was Your Stone/SS tanker, had roughly 30 mil to spend, how would YOU spend it.
Powers so far
Stone Armor: Everything except Brimestone, Crystal, Mineral Armors
SS: Everything Except Hand Clap
Power Pools:
Swift, Health Stamina
Teleport Friend, Teleport
Hasten -
Okay thanks, good to know
Close to 10, its lvl 13 -
Well I was happy to get the Knockback IO Protection on my Dark Armor Scrapper, but I am wondeirng if I put it in Obsidian Shield will it work if I do not run Obsidian Shield?
In other words will it only work if I have that power toggled on?? -
Quote:I was wondering if you can tell me more about thisYou can craft them from your own recipe drops, of course, but (EDIT: D'oh! Forgot about the crafting tables). Also keep in mind that you can e-mail recipes and enhancements to your own global, effectively allowing you to trade between your own characters.
Does it also work for influence or only enhancments? -
With the IO's sets is it a one time use, like I can only put Crushing Impact into Jab, or can it be used in every attack?
Can IO's sets be stacked in other words? -
Just hit 29 on my Stone/Super Strength Tank, and been thinking about IO's, and having no idea what to do.
So here is my build, and have roughly 12 million to spend (note powers in no order, but slots are what i currently have)

Quick Question
The only place I know to buy IO's are the aution house, is there somewhere else? -
Quote:Thanks, that cleared it up.I usually start getting IOs at level 25-30, then start working on sets sometime in the 30s.
You're misunderstanding the thing about levels. A Level 30 IO is better than a level 30 SO, for a character who is level 30. (It turns out that a level 30 SO slotted on a level 27 character is better than a level 30 IO, but it won't continue to be.) The added benefit of all IOs, of course, is that they don't diminish as you level, but this is a separate issue. Level 50 IOs are better than level 30 IOs always, just as level 30 IOs are better than level 25 IOs, etc. -
Just curious as to when people gets IO's/IO Sets?
Also I remember reading something abot a lvl 30 IO is the same as a lvl 50 IO, because they dont diminish or something like that, could someone explain that to me (if you know what I am talking about)
Thanks =) -
Hi, I am lvl 28 mutant, and looking for lvl 30 SO's
Talos (i think) has them up to lvl 25
Try to do contact mish in Founders, but it didnt give me a mission (think have to be lvl 30)
So where do I go? -
Quote:Same with me, but I love it so far (only lvl 10 atm)I started a Broadsword/Electric Armor scrapper recently myself. I like it so far, but having never built an /ela character, it's going to be a learning experience.
Still thinking about grounded, and I really have to pay more attention to my travel style threw a mish, will probably grab it since its avil at 16 and test it out (can always respec out of it)
Also was wondering on Build Up, I know if your a blaster you should definitly take it, but what is the consensus with Scrappers? Nice to have, but not needed? Or take right away? Skip it? -
Returning Vet, and was wondering how this set is, I mean I dont really see this combo, but would think that there are a couple good things going on with the set
Lightning Reflexes + recharge, good for BS recharge times
ELA is resistance, Parry gives you great defense boost
BS is lethal (i think), and Lightning Field provides energy damage, etc...
Am I missing something, or is this like the best kept secret? -
Hi, I am a returning player, and was wondering about Vanguard Merits, and specifically how do you get the costumes and weapons?
I have no idea what merits are, and I am guessing that is based on some type of accomplishment, so what lvl would you recommend attempting to get the sets
Note: Scrapper interested in Vanguard Broadsword (& costume pieces) -
Dont know if this has been mentioned before, probably has. But I would really like to see an Electric Mastery set added to the Ancillary Power Pools selections.
We have Elec Armor, Elec Melee, why not Electric Mastery.
Dont know what powers I would like to see, but maybe something like, Lightning bolt, Ball of Lightning....
What about u guys?

I am looking to create two new tankers, one being a Elec Armor/ Tanker and the other being an /Electric Melee Tanker.
For whatever reason I typically dont like paring the 2 sets together, i.e. Fire/Fire, Ice/Ice, Dark/Dark, etc.....
So what are the best synergies for Electric Armor and Electric Melee
2 thoughts are Elec/Fire & Ice/Elec, but how do they match up together? What is the best secondary to go with Electric Armor?
Whats best Primary to go with Electric Secondary? -
Very Nice Guide, and very detailed

Just a quick side-note, they hyperlink to this guide goes to the 2nd page, not the first...
