Havent checked this myself, but is dark blast (from the ghost widow patron pool) still showing its crit damage as 'base' and being unaffected by the assassination inherent power? (i.e its showing a constant 400+ damage, when it really does about 200 base, with 400 being its crit damage)

Quote:That's my main issue with the complaints as well. Especially with the fact that a t4 alpha boosts takes at least a month to achieve. That's per character. That's great that people want to do the trials. But I think Assuming gaining t3 and t4 incarnate enhancemnts would be as easy to get in the higher level incarnate levels as it is in alpha is akin to a "I gotta have it all right now" kind of statement.
I understand the freedom of the alpha slot, being able to get shards from any level 50 mob, and i can see how not being able to get that same option with the new slots can be a real eye opener, but as it has already been explained, merely unlocking and slotting your t1 boost, without stepping foot in the trials will that you about the same time as getting a t4 boost in your alpha slot. Anything higher then a t1 boost, and your looking at more time.
The trials aren't much more then scripted, timed task forces that can't exceed an hour. Heck, some task forces go for upwards of 3 hours. Having to repeat the same trials over and over again to get maximum threads is a grind, but until the devs flat out say 'no, we are not going to add anything else, your stuck forever, muahhaha' i refuse to think this is all we're getting. They obviously have to change at lest the WST, or else the entire work on that will go down the drain (as you can unlock your alpha slot via the trials, and even build your alpha boosts up with threads) -
Thing is, you can get perma dom, without getting perma hasten, look over those numbers again. the 110 is adding in hasten, where the 125 is without hasten (so if you have only like 70% global recharge, but you have hasten, you have perma dom (total of 140%, or about ~125 with hastens bonus), BUT you dont have perma hasten, because you need an additonal 40% recharge)
-
Quote:Well, people like you, who seem to want things as quickly as possible without putting the effort into them? (like wanting full t4 boosts but never wanting to step foot in a trial) Yeah, there may be a few of them, but the majority, aren't like that.I think you need to skim all the threads about incarnate posts and really pay attention to global chat channels and broadcast chatter. Because you're seriously mistaken. There are even more people ingame that don't post here. Either that or you have alot of people on ignore.
Let me attempt to spell this out for you. You are not going to get anymore then what has already been announced for i20, IN i20. So please, stop preaching to the choir about the fact you want more stuff to do, and just accept it for now. the 'grind' really is not that bad, and if you pace yourself, you can actually achieve it in a pretty decent amount of time. Heck, without stepping foot in a trial, you can still unlock and slot t1 boosts in about 28 days time.
We all want more content, we all want more options, but for now, we ALL have to suck it up and deal with what you got. We all wanted to end game content, and stuff like that doesn't just instantly happen. They are already announced at lest 2 more trials, but I'm hoping the dev's have seen the responds, and will change the conversion rates, or at the very very least adjust the weekly strike target to drop more then notices, so you can actually progress past your alpha boost using the weekly strike targets.
The inf costs are not that bad, the thread and shard requirements are the really difficult thing, but if you really want something, then work with what we have, and just make it known (which you already have) that you'd like some changes. Heck, http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=256223 is a thread where I'm trying to gather ideas on what can be changed to make things easier, so the dev's can just look at one place instead of all over the place. -
Quote:That's actually the other way around, you can achieve perma dom without perma hasten, but if you have perma hasten, you have perma dom. My earth/rad controller has perma hasten AND perma AM and i only have like 90% global recharge (before hasten and AM)This is very much the wrong forum for such questions, however: Perma-hasten takes less recharge than Perma-Domination does, and there's people with perma-dom, without using hasten at all.
For those who like numbers, look over this site http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Perma
As you can see, perma dom actually requires about half the recharge perma hasten requires.. -
They haven't ignored the alt crazy people, or the soloist.
The queue system Encourages solo players to team by clicking a button, and joining in a trail. These trials are TIMED EVENTS meaning they CAN NOT exceed 1 hour. Its not possible. If you can run a clear most ITF, you can run a BAF or a Lambda. Succeeding at just 8 trials will give you a t3 boost (from emp merits alone, thats not counting threads, or components you get from those 8 trials) You can run those 8 trials in as quick as 4 days. How is that not alt friendly?
You talked about the other games.. Well, obviously you have never played those 'other games' I have. You literally spend a month getting geared up to run the end game content, then spend 3 - 6 months trying to down bosses so you can get a piece of gear that you will just replaced within the next raid boss (or even raid instance) And thats PER CHARACTER. Good luck getting best in slot (which is t4 boosts here) in more then 1 character.
Here you can get full t4 alpha boosts in 4 weeks time, you can get new incarnate boosts in a few days time. Heck, 8 days and your basically done (2 tier 2, 2 tier 3 boosts) so, 8 days per character, assuming you dont work on more then 1 character per day, and its still not very long.
The queue system will make this so much easier, as you can literally click 1 button, and progress any character you want. -
I think i have to post this here as well.
In 16 successful trail runs (8 of each trial) you WILL have enough threads/componets/merits to craft 2 tier 2 boosts, and 2 tier 3 boosts, effectively finishing the new content, assuming you grab the incarnate shifts.
If you don't want to run the trials, but you want to unlock, and slot your new powers, it will take you about 390 shards, and about 460 million inf. Thats count converting shards into threads, and then converting threads into iXP, AND converting threads into common components. Now, while you could argue that 460 million inf is a lot, its really about 1.18million per shard, AND you can run the tin mage and apex and get 2 threads each from them, so the more tin mages and apex you run, the less shards you need to convert to threads, and you could save yourself even more money.
If you run the apex and tin mage everyday, and convert just 10 shards into 10 threads everyday, it'll take you about 28 days to fully unlock, and slot a t1 boost into all your newly unlocked slots.
4 weeks time to completely avoid the system. Or you can just run the trials... -
I'll have to say my bot/traps MM. I've thrown so much time and inf into her that there is literally nothing she can't do (I've duo'ed ITFs, and LGTFs, and solo'ed about 80% of the RSF, before incarnate powers)
Shes my destress, and kill things character. -
Not to zombie this thread, but how're things coming Alpha?
-
Heck, i'll take a few off your hands, i think at last count i need about 15 of them over my various characters (7.5% rech is just too nice to pass up, and SOOO many powers take it)
-
I actually think the scaling resistance of the scrapper would save it over the scaling resistance the NW has (based on hitpoint totals, i think the scrappers scales higher faster if you take all 3 passives, where the NW only has 1 power that adds the scaling resistance)
So after the 30 or so hit, the scrapper may still be standing, due to scaling resistance, where the NW would be long dead. -
/bug it, and maybe even petition. It should follow the same rules as everything else.. *meaning you should be able to slot that at level 7*
-
Yeah, she made my /rad cry, even with all her -tohit and -dmg debuff. 1 shot and i was in the red.. (it didnt help that shortly afterwards i hit secondary mutation, and turned into a rikti for the rest of the fight.. ran around and just jumped between her and the warwalkers for the duration of the rikti form)

/unsigned
Just because you cant make money, doesnt mean other people can't. I have over 7 billion in liquid inf over all my 22 characters, and i made about 85% of it while working at my real life job. The market is a great way to make inf, and if you can't do it, doesnt mean things need to be changed.
Plus very rare NEEDS TO BE VERY RARE. -
You do know, everytime someone complains about not being able to make inf, i link them to one of you guys threads, and scream 'GO LEARN or forever lose your SG spot!' about as loudly as i can...
-
So.. i was half asleep, and i noticed my V-side tanker needed some rikti alloy for his recipes, so i ran to the market, and bid on some.. put in 2.25 mil, didn't get it. Then without paying much attention, i just deleted that, and put in what i thought was 2.5 mil.. and instead of was 250 million..

Oops... -
May have try this on my bot/traps MM, earth/rad troller, or my kat/regen. i push all those builds to the max as much as possible, just for kicks
-
Plus most of this in the CURRENT content.
Lets take the Lambda trial for example:
You have multiple portals spawning mass mobs all while trying to nuke down a massive AV with a rage timer that can hit like a mack truck and turn your softcapped tanker into a squishy mess on the ground.
Your options are to grenade the portals, or use your judgement powers to thin the herd. While your thining the herd, a blaster comes along, and finished off whatever it is you just thinned out for him.
Also look at the BAF, you need to kill prisoners in order to succeed, and the judgement powers do that in AoE fashion, but with near endless prisoners, you need someone that can also take out prisoners while the judgement powers are on cooldown. Hello blaster.
Now, for an ITF, or LGTF, or heck, even a RSF, the judgement powers will just make them even more cake walk, and a blaster may feel like hes underperforming, but only just barely.
For those saying 'debuff is awesome' keep in mind you have to animate the debuffs, and for them to really be effective, you need either the anchor (rad) or position (traps, kin, cold, dark) to stay constant enough for the debuffs to actually matter. While a team of pure debuffs with full judgement powers will steam roll, a team of pure blasters with full judgement powers will do it faster, just due to the fact there is no time where are aren't dealing damage.
My fire/kin corr can kill pretty quickly, but i'm only doing damage about half the time i could be, due to my kin heals, SBing people, hitting fulcum, etc, where my fire/fire blaster does about the same damage, but everything he does deals damage, every button i press will instantly do some form of damage up front, with maybe an secondary effect. My earth/rad on the other hand doesnt deal much damage up front, but she does kill things, and she does it savely behind her pet, and all her debuffs. I kill slow and steady, but i have very little chance of dying when all my debuffs are out on the field, it just takes quite some time to lay down all those debuffs.
Thats why the judgement powers won't have too much of an effect on blasters damage output, or them being overshadowed by other ATs in the damage department.
And on fights were debuffs actually matter, AoEs usually don't, so judgement powers may not be used as often on fights where your debuffs make that much of a different. -
PLus, its limit of 5 is per burn, so if you double stack burn.. you can hit 10.. And, as mobs die, burn will just hit another target, so surrounding yourself you could actually hit more then 5 mobs with it, you just can't hit more then 5 at a time...thats what i love about burn, burn patches, and rain powers. you can extended their target cap, but only because each DoT rolls on a target, and sometimes it can roll on different targets.
Rain of Arrows has the same things going for it, with its 3 different damage rolls. -
Pretty sure they were aiming for the proc, but regardless, congrats on the 10x mark up
-
Quote:No, the enemy will always have a chance to hit you (and you will always have a chance to hit the enemy).
While this is true, especially with softcapped defenses, you CAN use tohit debuffs as fake -def debuff resistance. If you debuff their tohit higher then they debuff your def, then you maintain your softcapped defense even when your below 45% def.
It may sound a little confusing, but it also works on tip missions DE (who have higher then a 50% base chance to hit you) and Lord recluse (who may resistance the tohit debuffs, but they still have some of an effect on him) -
Eh, I've made about 3 billion in one day, but that was mainly due to PvP IOs selling to insane amounts. I'll say on average (even counting days i don't log in) I average about 200 mil a day across all my toons.
Before i log off, i craft basically all my recipes i can, and list them at 75% the going price. That way when i log that character back on, i've made atlest some money, as having 20+ character i rotate around, it adds up pretty fast.
I haven't quite lost interest in making money, as there is always a means to spend it on (everytime I load up my mains character build in mids I find improvements, which cost me inf...) So, until there is nothing to spend all my inf on, I won't lose interest in making it. -
Fire/fire/fire doms..
AoE stun, AoE immbolize, with a side of hot feet, imps, fireball, rain of fire, fiery embrace, and just sheer death.
Oh, and you can do it all while perma-dom'ed so nothing really hits back. -
Quote:Yeah. I mean i've heard the rumors, and i've seen some things first hand, I've just never experienced it first hand, and having done so now, I really just want to keep my ideas and theorys to myself. Apparently not devoting myself to a game via playing it means I don't know the numbers nor can i figure them out without devoting myself to said game via raiding.Yeah it can be a real eye opener when someone realizes just how nice we are here compared to other games forums. Just last March I saw people get banned in another games forums when they started posting insults and threats against their devs families because the parent company put that game on sale for $10 less a month after the game launched.
I do so hope that with the i20 changes, and even the 19.5 ones this game doesnt devolve into that. I like that fact that anyone can pretty much post ideas or theorys on things and as long as they have even a basic understanding on things we're accepting enough to tell them how it may or may not work. -
The other old one. I haven't heard so many 'lrn2play' and 'get better gear' before in my entire life. Especially when the math doesn't really change once you do get said better gear.
