If you're the type that likes to play a softcapped Corruptor in melee, setting up a cone is easy. When you're surrounded and have one targeted, take a short hop backwards and fire away.

Consider other forms of damage mitigation, also. You have Lightning Rod and Shield Charge, for example.

I've never actually commented on your build. My point, to save you and others trouble in the future, was that the journey to softcapping SR doesn't have to be "long, expensive, and, at times, arduous".

Ice Blast only has one cone attack.

Of course. I don't think you'll find many powersets with so many cones that you'd be short on attacks without them. On the other hand, you might take the cone as a set mule, and just not use it.

With a clicky Mez protection I prefer some overlap, in case I'm attacking when it recharges.

I wouldn't do it with SOs myself; I was just pointing out that it was possible.

With generic IOs, the Steadfast, CJ, Weave and Maneuvers, you can softcap all positions with only 12 added slots, 22 total. I think that's pretty reasonable if you're on a tight budget. You could take every power from your primary, six-slot all the attacks plus one from an epic pool, and still have several slots left over.

It has been a tradition for seven years to use "mew" as a greeting in the Legion. I don't remember who first tried it as a pronoun, but some people have taken it to such extremes that you can't actually tell what they're talking about at times.

We're digressing. Tokusatsu is not defined by any of the four things you mentioned earlier except for special effects. The Magical Girl genre does not "fall under" tokusatsu; there are merely occasional points of convergence.
