  1. Are there any tradable items that can be purchased with $?
  2. I will echo that it has not been fixed.

I have just stopped posting the in the logout thread because of the low roi for the time spent. But I enjoyed posting this. : )
  3. I dig glue grenades and I dig mayhems.

When I am in a mayhem I use selective targeting to take out the guys who do me the worst first. I forget which two kinds of mobs they are, but there's one mob with a wicked tohit debuff and another one that glues ya. equalizer and something else.

There are a number of groups that have some stickler mob that throws the monkey wrench into my works.

I have a hunt macro that I use when I want to to target particular kinds of NPCs. I don't use it for mayhems as I recognize the offenders by sight. But like with Malta where they all wear the same colors, I use the targetcustomnext thingy to take out the sappers first.

I enjoy having challenges to overcome in my games.

When I first saw the article on Paragonwiki, it did not match my experience or my testing of the proc. So I retested *and* examined the design of the proc specifically, then discussed the proc with Castle. To the best of my knowledge, that proc does not have suppression, never had suppression, and never had any mechanism remotely related to suppression. What it does have is the specific feature that it cannot stack with itself and cannot refresh itself. So when its triggered, you cannot get the benefit of another proc until it expires.

But I slot this proc in my energy blaster, which is to say I slot it in *everything* on my energy blaster: power bolt, power blast, energy torrent, and explosive blast. I also have global recharge in my combat attribute monitor so I can see global recharge constantly. When I'm in a position to be using AoEs a lot, the proc is up more than half the time.

Mechanically, the way it works is this: the IO grants a 10% chance per target hit of granting you a passive power that buffs your global recharge by +100% for five seconds. However, this power has a limit of one, which means you can only have one copy of the power active at a time. If the FF proc fires while you still have this passive power active, that next proc will simply be wasted: you won't get any benefit at all.

Theoretically speaking its possible to have the proc up almost perma, but in practice it won't happen. At some point the proc will fire and grant you 5 seconds of +100% recharge. While that is up you cannot get any additional benefit from the proc. The moment it expires 5 seconds later, you can benefit from the proc again. If, at that moment, you fire an attack and the proc fires, you can be buffed again. So nothing prevents you from getting the buff over and over again, one after the other, continuously. But random chance and your attack chain will likely conspire to make that unlikely most of the time: the proc has to go off at just the right time for you to get the buffs back to back to back.

But high-speed energy blasters that cycle torrent and explosive blast can see *very* high uptimes in high density maps: since the proc has a chance to go off per target, the odds of the proc going off when you use torrent or explosive blast will be much higher than 10% if you are hitting lots of targets.
Thank you very much for that

    Suppression

This article or section contains information that no longer applies to the current version of City of Heroes/Villains. It is provided for historical purposes.
In its original incarnation, this proc would trigger extremely frequently and was basically a constant recharge buff on the character, provided that he had slotted it in a fast-recharging, Area of Effect power, like Footstomp. Since then, the power has been altered, adding suppression (red bits of the image below), requiring careful timing to get the most use out of it. Too-frequent use gets it to suppress too much, leaving very small windows of the buff being in effect (green bits of the image below).
  6. I don't think that musculature does that much for brutes. relatively anyway

You may want to use the alpha to cover a weakness in your build.

One important point that make 25 a nice cut off is the effects of malling down on enhancements.

@ lvl 25 dual attribute ehancements are each @ 20% (for sched A).
20% is the cutoff for which enhancements get reduced in effectiveness when malling down as far as lvl 21.

lvl 24 is a cut off for ouro arcs and oen or two otehr things I forget atm

So I use a lot of lvl 25 ehancements for my toons who will exemplar often. The single aspect enhancements and the triple and quads I get @ lvl 27 so they will be stronger than the lvl 25s, but still provide bonuses @ lvl 24.

If I don't need the set bonus, I use lvl 43 triples and lvl 50 quads to keep the full effect of the enhancement.
  8. Meeting at the contact?

I think I can make it, but, I can't be sure until 15 minutes til.

I'll see you at the contact if I can. I now have a second low level SF/Trial toon. So, I am not sure which one I will bring. But they are both brutes. I have a couple of corrs and a defender in the pipes for the low levels, but I haven't decided on their build for malling down.

    I kill DEVS

Why does the picture take me to yahoo mail?
  10. I used to, but now I just use Amerits
  11. iirc, there was a comment that they were going to look into it, or something of that sort of off-handed nature.
  12. borrow them for...?

    AE ?
    backstory for a toon ?

    or what ?

The only possible issues I can foresee involve intellectual property issues. If the borrowing comes from something that doesn't have the IP baggage, I suspect it would be just fine for any use. If it does have IP baggage, no one can give you official permission. If you chose to use something with IP baggage, you would be subject to genericking and possibility of other actions if your were reported or otherwise caught.
  13. I tried to rollback my video drivers at 9:15.

    /SR

Why would EM be good for pairing with /SR?

Why would you even think that?

That sounds much different than I mean it. I just really want to know why EM was one of the choices.
^not nearly as judgmental as all that sounds^

  18. I had a similar situation with a hd in an xp box. I looked in the eventlog and noticed that there were hd error reports--at every logon iirc.

So I backed up and swapped the drive out. I put it in a different xp box--I mean it wasn't dead yet after all--and since then, nothing. It's new home has no complaints about it. It's been about 7-8 months now I think. ;shrug

It seems there's something significant to that story that's slipping my mind's grasp at the moment. If I remember I'll post it.
  19. I have tried creating stories then arcs, but it seems that the story keeps moving in directions that I can't make the editor satisfactorily create.
So I am creating an arc that is based on what I find to be fun gameplay and then going to try and fit a story to it.

The gist of it will bear some relative resemblance missions with many enemies, some traps, and some time limits. So there're objectives to accomplish in a certain amount of time and a whole lot of spawns and environmental factors working against you. I want it to be more about strategeries, team work, etc than about straight steam rolling.

I thought I would stick my head in here and see if this was the sort of thing that someone would be interested in collaborating on.
If not, I will eventually get around to doing the story side.
But I thought I would check in case the info could affect my plans.

    thanks for your time

  21. I have not noticed this.

I may soon though, because I listen more with my left ear, and I suspect that side is going to wear out sooner because of it.
  22. Well, deserved or no, judgment calls have to be made as to priority and timing etc.

    patience, grasshopper
  23. 8 hrs to go and my wife still hasn't told me I have other plans.
