Boxing and Kick are getting buffed a bit and the new T5 is another attack and if you own it it buffs boxing/kick. Tough and Weave remain unchanged -except- you can now get Weave without getting Tough.
-
The other portions included mention of Mako week, and next week they'll have a logitech guy coming in to talk about some new MMO friendly mouse they've developed and they'll be giving some away during the coffee talk.
The rest was just Q&A. -
Quote:Not explicitly. We saw them demonstrated and got to see some of the detail info.Do we know numbers or mechanics? IE can Victory rush stack? Is misdirect auto hit and the potency of the debuff?
Injection sounds awesome for the mad scientist
In order: We don't know. It is not. And the debuff was like -10 Res wasn't it? -
Quote:They're working on it, there's just a number of things broken about it.I would be really glad if they just fix hybrid but I guess it will not happen any time soon
Quote:If memory serves, in the anniversary announcement a while back, they named i25 as the introduction of the Battalion. You know, that big 'state of the game' thing that Positron or War Witch writes about once a year. I could be misremembering the context of the announcement, but I do remember i25 being the target.

I'm not sure that really works, given the way we've come to understand the way the Well is supposed to work.
First and foremost, Magic =/= The Well.
Drawing from the well and achieving Incarnate powers the slow way is merely 'rising above' your origin. No magic involved, unless you're a Magic origin hero. But it's completely feasible to pierce the veil using tech or science or even natural ability.
so the Rikti have no magic-based Incarnates. But very likely have some that were Science/Tech. The initial incarnate arc even tells us we've met folks that don't even know they're incarnates. -
Quote:No they actually didn't say 'I24'. You have to pay attention to what they say and more importantly what they -don't- say. Any time they don't give you a direct answer means that there is -something- up. It may not be a new zone explicitly but they did not answer that question with a direct 'no' they sidestepped an answer and just explained what they're doing. The two are not one and the same. They said they were taking a break from Praetoria in I24, but not from content featuring something Praetorian in it - that means no new Praetorian zone.
You're really not very good at double speak GG. -
Quote:Actually they didn't explicitly say -no- to the question about the Praetorian zone, merely sidestepped it.From what they said on the chat, there'll be content with some connection to Praetoria in I24, but no new Praetorian zone.
They said that there's taking a break from focusing on Praetoria, but that the Paretorian storyline is now tied into the Primal storylines in a pretty big way.
For example, if they were going to revamp Independence Port, it's quite possible there could be some storylines driven by the arrival or potential arrival of the Sydicate onto the Family's turf.
Will be interesting to see what is up. Honestly I think people are going to be hoping for a wrap up with Hamidon but I doubt we'll be getting it. At least not I24.
Thinking on it, it kind of makes you wonder if this isn't the issue we'll see shards start to phase out. -
-
Well if its not an iTrial then it's probably solo/small team friendly (or at worst, 8 team TFs like Apex/Tin Mage)
And y'know, people HATE having more stuff to do with their 50's that doesn't require a league. -
Yeah seems that way, there's stuff they still haven't told us about. And all the legitimately new stuff too.
Seems like it's going to be a pretty great issue to look forward to. -
Well they said that bringing in Peacebringer's crashing nukes would be the next step after tweaking the Ranged Blast sets, I'd imagine Widows might get a tweak there too.

Quote:They've said there'll be a ton of new content. I24 is apparently shaping up to be a HUGE issue, not just with pool revamps and customization and the ranged blast set changes. We'll find out more in the I24 preview, whenever they decide to kick it out (I'd guess.. before the end of August?)Well I hope there's SOME new content. I know we don't have all the info yet, but so far i24 is just power changes. I think power changes are great, but I'd like some new content to enjoy while using them.
They've also said there's some zone revamps coming. -
So just finished with today's coffee talk. Lots of neat stuff on pool powers and customization as I'm sure will be covered in other threads.
Couple interesting tidbits from the Q&A section. As the title spoils, I24 will have no new iTrial. This'll be the first major issue release since Freedom I think, possibly older? (IDK, I joined at Freedom XD), that will not have an iTrial.
No new Incarnate Powers coming either, though they weren't 100% positive.
They DID say that something would be coming for Incarnates, so it could be another Zone, it could be another arc or two ala Emperor's Sword, could be a new Taskforce. Dunno! Time to speculate though! -
Er, no they DID say that a couple of the non-crashing nukes would see tweaks. One would remain the same, the other 2 would see a bump down in recharge.

Quote:The answer is simple. Prometheus and the angels are actually the true Vanguard of Battalion and have been lying to us the entire time and having us lay the groundwork for devouring the Well. That doesn't automatically work either. If the important Earth is Primal Earth, why would the Well select a champion on Praetorian Earth? Why would the Well gamble that Cole would be at the right place at the right time when he lives in the wrong place? If the Well is most vulnerable here, then the most important property its champion could possess is to be here.
The Well can basically control all who take the fast path: it could control and speak through Statesman and Recluse. Consistency demands it have that ability for Cole as well. Why not have Cole come here to Primal Earth to defend it from the Battalion? It could have done so *before* Incarnates appeared on Primal Earth to challenge Cole because its the wellspring of incarnate power. The only people who could challenge Cole before we came along were Statesman and Recluse and the Well can control them both.
In fact, although this is not technically an inconsistency its a puzzler: why not control all three and use them against the Battalion? If its purpose is self-preservation its going about it in a highly random fashion.
Here's a more fundamental problem. If the cosmic principle is "it only matters if it happens in the Primal dimension" what do you suppose happens when other beings in other dimensions begin to figure that out. What happens when the prototype of the Battalion tries to consume a Well in another dimension and discovers that act is impossible in that dimension, because its not the primal dimension.
What happens when smart people in an infinite number of other dimensions find out they are living in an unimportant dimension. More importantly, what happens when the most powerful heroes in other dimensions discover that if anything happens to ours, theirs is toast. What happens then?
-
Quote:I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about and are just tossing about phrases and words in the hopes it sounds like something smart and like a counterargument. Because none of what you said made sense. If the devs make a change it's not random by definition.
Because changing things, by violating the cottage rule, and potentially ruining peoples character concept, lets us sell more new shineys to the masses?
Taking control of players characters by changing the powers is no different than taking control of the player's characters by proliferating mez without providing a mez avoidance solution. -
Front load the damage. Done. Don't change short circuit. Even on blasters, it's still the quintessential sapping power in the set. The animation time could probably be brought down a bit too.
-
Quote:I.. what? Yeah again, I think you and I are just on two completely different levels of logic because I absolutely do not understand your point. That was in reference to the people that want to get all of their 50's to 50+3. Yes "You" the player are the star. However their is "You" the player on your Softcaped IOed L50+3 SS/Fire IFramgodsalot Brute and theirs "You" the player on your SOed L50 FF/Energy blast Idon'tattacklots Defender.
Is it realistic to expect every Character to be "Ready" to fight the Battalion on even ground? I think not I think we are going to have to start looking at picking some of out characters and leaving the rest in the dust. The question is how many of our characters should we expect to have the time to "trick out" in-between content releases?
For one, Incarnate powers in general are a 'leveling' of the playing field because every AT has the ability to use Judgment, Destiny, and Lore. There are always going to be power imbalances between power sets, ATs, etc. But are you really suggesting the next 'threat' should be only challengable by those that are 'the most broken'? Don't think I could disagree more.
Just being a higher level doesn't mean you're going to have to only pull out 'the big guns'. If there's solo content then it's likely to be just like Dark Astoria and the Emperor's sword. They might do some things differently, like perhaps Battalion solo content will be gated by like.. I don't know, having Hybrid unlocked? Or Lore/Destiny like the Magi trial is. But it's going to be Incarnate content. Enemies will be somewhere in the 50+ range, very likely to be 54 or higher. And they'll have higher to hit and probably some hard hitting attacks. But you'll also have your destiny, your lore, your judgment, your hybrid, etc to fight back.
And keep in mind, even as the enemies get bigger, badder and scarier, so do we. We've still got 4 more slots to unlock, potentially more level shifts to go, and they can still add -more- to prior trees for even more variety.
So, yeah, I don't understand where you're coming from in the slightest. Unless the Devs have a sudden and prolonged attack of loss of total common sense, 'Battalion' content is -not- going to require you to just stick with your IO'd softcapped brute and ignore your SO'ed empathy 'fender or require all T4 abilities. I'm not really sure why you'd even think that. It's also kind of assuming that there's just going to be this sudden gap between current incarnate content and 'battalion' content where solo content is like 54+ minimum. Frankly, we don't know what they're going to do only that Battalion is 'the next step' in terms of upcoming plot arcs. -
This is a question? I mean, really, is it?
This is comparing apples and atomic bombs. Who needs this comparison?
IOs let you break the game in various ways by giving you absurd advantages when you can stack enough of them, particularly when it comes to global recharge (allowing for shenanigans like Perma-Phantom Army or Perma-Doms) or soft capped defenses.
Incarnates give you end game nukes, perma-buffs, universal stat boosts and procs, and some of the best pets in the game.
Mind you, the game was playable and still is -without- it, but it's a completely different ballpark adding them in. -
Quote:1. 0. I have 3 incarnates, none 'fully' incarnated. But that's because I don't see T4 as the end goal, just an extra icing to do something else while more stuff comes out.
- How many characters have you fully incarnated?
- How many characters have you incarnated?
- How many characters have you rolled with the intention of making them Full Incarnates?
- Do you have any characters that you, for whatever reason, are not going to make Incarnates?
2. 3. Still working on getting my other alts to 50.
3. Full incarnates? None. Again, it's just incidental if I happen to get stuff to make T4s. But I do roll characters with the intention of getting them to 50 and unlocking slots and the like.
4. No, I think that's just silly. Incarnate stuff gives me stuff to do when I hit 50. The end game TFs are ok, but solo stuff was absolutely scarce once you finished up remaining story arcs (and even then, they just gave you merits and a chance at purple recipes).
Quote:What all of this boils down to is how much content is going to be made that only VIP's can use and then how many of those VIP's are going to play it? There are many on these forums that screamed bloody murder when they couldn't solo their way to full incarnates. And now some of those same people are still saying "More solo content! I don't want to farm the same story ark over and over." I can understand this. But I ask you, when do we stop adding solo incarnate content? When we have enough to make it a stand alone game?
Quote:In comic book terms this is the big world shaking event. (That is right before the reboot*) This is when Superman, Batman, Ironman, Hulk, Lex Luthor all put on their game faces, and somebody makes the ultimate sacrifice to save the planet. Well our Incarnates are now playing those same rolls. And, to use a comic book term, there's only so much page space. Even if that page is a fold out poster we still can't fit all the Incarnates onto it. Not to even mention all the sub level 50 heroes. So we have to limit our cast somehow. My query to you is... How?
-
I don't think the devs want play money though
-
I think it's more like the zone has been revamped once already and there are others that could use a swab of the update brush before revisiting a zone that's fairly functional and enjoyable as it is. Could it be better? Certainly, that goes for about any zone. Faultline as it is though isn't bad and much better off than say Boomtown.
-
Quote:it's a pretty safe assumption since he said he had it open. You assume he has the alpha slot open.
That's not automatically open, you need to do something to open it, and if never do, you never need to deal with incarnate content.
Remember kids, reading is FUNdamental!
