In general my likes are:
* Damage (especially AoEs and even more especially cone based AoEs)
* Debuffs
* Toggle or passive self buffs
* Weapon based sets (this isn't a requirement but I find the characters easier to conceptualize)
* Technology/Science origin (one of these days I'll give in and make a character with the battlecry "For Science")
My dislikes:
* Ally buffs (especially single target ones, aura are ok)
* Click buffs with long recharge/short duration (I'm not a big fan of build up for example)
* Natural/Mutant origin (I just have a lot of trouble with these conceptually)
My characters:
AR/Devices/Munitions Blaster
Warshade
Trick Arrow/Archery/Dark Defender (my only non-Science/Tech origin character, and to be honest he still looks a bit like a tech origin character)
Broadsword/Shield/Body Scrapper
Characters I plan to make eventually (I don't like having more than one non-level 50 at a time):
Traps/AR/Electricity Defender (my Blaster in his spare suit of power armor )
Dark/Dark/Dark Defender
Storm/Something Defender -
Well, I'm embarrassed, I've been using surveillance ever since it was ported to Munitions Mastery and I never knew this.

Quote:I'll admit I haven't tested it but slotting End Mod should not increase the recovery bonus from the Procs in the same way that damage Procs in an attack slotted with damage IOs don't do increased damage. The bonuses from all special IOs (procs, proc120s and globals) are not affected by the other slotting of the power that they are in.It's 12.5% +recov base (.209 end/sec with 100 end), or, in qualitative parlance, half of Stamina. If you fully slot it (3 even level end mod SOs), you'll get ~24.375% +recov, which is, with 100 end, .407 end/sec. With the +end accolades, you'd pull it up to .448 end/sec.
I don't really encourage much in the way of slotting up PP for end mod or heal. The base values are simply too low in my opinion (re: the +regen is similarly unimpressive). Of course, it's a great spot for the Perf Shifter, Numina, Regen Tissue, and Miracle procs (especially the +recov ones because you can slot the end mod to make them bigger), which is what I'd advocate slotting into it. -
As Ethric said the primary problem that you're going to encounter is the redraw delay due to switching weapons. Other than that it should be a pretty decent combination. TA is a nice set with some heavy controls (for a defender set), some decent soft controls, combined with high damage and some good defense/resistance debuffs. AR has good damage in it and hte main downside (the fact that it's lethal) is mitigated by the fact that TA has several resistance debuffs.

Quote:I've heard that a before but I've been unable to find where he said it. I'd really appreciate a link so that i can update the wiki. Not anymore, I do believe Positron made mention that they were no longer considering HOs unintended secondary effects to be an exploit. I could be wrong though

I'd imagine that either PMing a mod or using the report button on the post that got negative rep would be the best options.

Not quite, if you don't get an of an enemy type (i.e. bosses) because of team size and/or difficulty setting then you're fine. You only get reduced rewards if you design the mission using a custom group that doesn't have any enemies of a particular type.
So your squishy toons will be ok, the bosses are still available in the mission they just don't spawn because of difficulty settings. -
Quote:I haven't tested it but from what I know of how HOs function it should work. However doing so is technically considered an exploit by the devs. Paragon Wiki has a quote by Castle on the subject:Not sure about this and I can't seem to find anything specific to the question but here goes.
Will a Microfilament HO (enhances endurance reduction and movement) work in Hot Feet as a slow? I know that the endurance reduction part will but not sure about the slow.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Not entirely true, you can also opt to set the mobs to hard or extreme in which case they will award full XP while having fewer than 18 powers.
-
The problem is that at the moment the majority of the missions being played are pure farm missions. I would advise staying out of those with your first character since there's a lot of things you'll miss if you power level.

Quote:I expect there will be an initial surge of people trying it out but I tend to agree that few people will bother getting them to 50. It doesn't really offer anything that isn't more conveniently available in another set. Add in the fact that it's Tier 8 and 9 powers are almost useless on a team and you end up with a lot of abandoned defenders.I don't think you'll see many Traps fenders once 16 goes live. I play on liberty with my heroes and at any given time I search for people to do a TF defender population is usually half that of any other AT if not 1/3.
Quote:Of that count most are RADS, EMPS, DARKS, KINS. I have however ran with several different Trick Arrow fenders!! Sadly I think on a defender people still have this way of looking down on Trick Arrow defenders. Given that anytime I invite one I get the "Look I don't have heals, is that ok??" Retort.
I think the general mind set is that people want their defenders to be certain sets and that causes many people to shy away. -
Quote:For a level 30 you're probably best rolling in the 25-29 range. There are a few recipe sets in that range that cap out at 30 and are reasonably popular. My method requires no knowledge of the market other than how to follow the 'last 5' on a transaction. I employ this method on a lvl 50 character, but I think it would work about as well on anything that is lvl 30+. I have a PB that has almost hit 30 and could try it on that toon as soon as I ding to see how lucrative it is. For the time being, assume the toon is 50.
I like to run solo Lt farms. Of course, with the changes in I16, it will take some tweaking, but let's just assume that you're running AE missions and earning close to the ticket cap on each mission, if you aren't exceeding it. I use my tickets to by 35-39 silver recipe rolls. This gives you enough recipes that normally sell for at least 1 Million, that it is worth the salvage investment. Don't worry about trashing anything unless you really want to and just buy the salvage you need. Then simply craft and sell. Along with normal game play, this method has always left me with more influence over the long haul. -
Quote:It shouldn't be an issue. The release just says that you have to maintain an active account. So even someone who doesn't use a subscription at all (i.e. pays with time cards) should be ok as long as they apply the new card before the old one expires. On a side note.. out of curiousity..
What happens if somebody unsubscribes just to change their payment method, but the account never really becomes inactive during that time? -or-
(This does not affect me, because I'm already prepaid until next February.. just wondering about possible future complaints by others. lol) -

Quote:Very nice. Personally I'm unlikely to bother trying to hit the cap. I'm ebil but not that ebilNice! Grats!
I'm getting there. I'm up to around 1.6B. Hoping to cap soon.
People who whine about prices and being poor have no idea how easy it is to make money in this game. I really don't marketeer very hard and I'm rolling in inf. I did do a little flipping during double xp weekend, though, but I only made about 400 million.
Vive la ebil! -
So I logged in this evening to find that my main character has hit 10 digits. I had about 40 million in cash before the double XP weekend and haven't been playing him that much so this is almost all from marketeering since then. I really wanted to get his Drone in the picture but the stupid thing would not face the right way .

Really? I cannot recall ever seeing a TA Controller but have seen quite a few TA defenders.
-
Both a Dark/Dark and a Storm/Something are on the list of characters that i intend to eventually. However I'm one of those rare people who doesn't suffer from altitius so I first need to get my Scrapper and my upcoming Traps defender to 50 .
-
Technically yes but the drop rate of Poll C/D from bosses seems to be pretty low and I suspect that most farmers will use the enhanced difficulty options to turn off bosses anyway. So while there will be a trickle of level 50 Pool C/D recipes coming in I think that the rate will decrease from it's current level.
-
Very true. If the farming moves out of AE then Purples, other Pool As and most Common and Uncommon salvage will probably drop in price but conversely fewer tickets being generated should lead to an increase in the price of Pool C/D recipes.

Quote:Trip Mine is ok (especially solo) but Time Bomb is horrible. Traps doesn't get Gun Drone but I'd like to see the summon time reduced for Devices as well, it's an extremely weak power and I rarely bother to use it because of the long summon time (I mean 6 seconds, really?).I think any Devices/Traps user can agree with that... those two powers are far too situational on teams and take too long to make use of. I mostly use Trip Mines for laughs, when the team is afk for awhile and I have nothing better to do, or when for some reason the team can't handle what we're facing.
Can't remember if Traps has Gun Drone, but that one is egregiously long animating for Devices, too. Stupid Malta make me jealous whenever I see them just toss theirs out (well, pretty much). -
Yes. Although sometimes it's worth it. For example a lot of /Devices Blasters will slot Gaussians full set in Targeting Drone for the defense bonuses even though the overall slotting is sub-par for six slots (personally I don't do it). Conversely for some powers slotting with a mix of the same IO from different sets is better than slotting with either a single set or generics. Fro example slotting two of the same type level 50 dual aspect IOs is better than slotting two different common IOs.
-
No you were clear, I guess we weren't clear in our response. The answer is no. A particular IO can only be placed once in each power so you cannot (for example) place multiple Numina: End/Heal IOs in the same power.
